Eddie wasn't given time to hope for action, his spider sense started going haywire."Aaaaaaargh!!!"The pain was so intense that he collapsed to his knees and elbows hugging his head. All of time, scratch that, all of reality paused for the time being. He stood to his feet in the presence of an elderly woman, decorated like an arachnid."Great, now I'm in the presence of senior citizens."He quickly and rather rudely remarked, but he wasn't answered.

He looked around and was aware of time stopping, fire had literally frozen in place, but when he tried to touch it, it still burned."Ouch. Okay you old hag, just what the heck is this and where the heck am I?"He barked, more annoyed than usual. He crossed his arms in defiance as he waited for a response. Instead, an image of another Spiderman in peril was shown, streaming through his mind."So what, that softy don't got nothing to do with me, you ask me, his reality is better off."The elderly woman shook her head and suddenly Eddie saw horrors much worse than the after life.

"Okay, okay, just.........just make it stop."He was panting heavily, the strain was far to great. Behind his mask, he'd almost broke out in tears. Whatever he'd seen had to be terrifying, he was a man who was hard to scare and virtually impossible to force a tear upon. A portal opened up behind him and she gestured for him to go through."Right, well, it really hasn't been fun. Smell ya later ya mute stinky old bat."He stated web zipping into the temporal hole that had opened up for him. Madame Web sat there for a time before opening her mouth."Loud, insolent mouthed twit."She stated, a smile across her face in triumph. She'd held her tongue, though she could have just as easily kept Eddie in that time field. Every thing continued to flow as she parted.

As soon as he turned his back, a fist cracked into the back of his skull. The strength behind the punch was more than human... though not the full extent of what the suit could do. Terry didn't want to kill the guy... very much.

Where was he going to PUT him, anyway?



The man on the roof continued to follow along as the clown started for... a restaurant? It was mostly extremely morbid curiosity; he certainly had no intention of stopping the guy. Even if he had wanted to side with someone in a bat-themed costume (which, for the record, was NEVER going to happen), he wasn't even sure that he could. Technically, at least, that was... Yeah. Really, really surreal.

Jason hit the ground, hard, after being struck in the back."Hehehe, ooh mommy I fall down and go boom boom."He cackled, sounding like an infant as he held his head. His overdose had dulled most of his senses and whatever he could feel was usually protected by a strength increase of Venom. That still didn't mean that it didn't hurt, frankly, it really hurt."What now your invisible, can't fight an unstable clown on equal terms huh? Well I don't blame ya, that guy's cuckoo."He gestured with his thumb and pointed over to no where, then stepped in the spot he'd been pointing as he reached in his coat.

He pulled out a combat knife and held it tight while he closed his eyes."Ya can't silence your footsteps kid, hope Bruce was able to teach you that much, if not, your about as visible when your invisible."That was a rather strange logic, but the sounds around him became more clear. Batgirl (Jinx) and her freeze ray, Firestar's elegant locks blowing in the distance, random fires crackling and sparking, the rockets on Crimson Dynamo's boots, and his target, a set of fast paced footsteps getting closer with each step.

((And now he's not even there. ... Wow. O.o That sucks.))

A pair of hands, crackling with more raw electricity than the average tazer, calmly grabbed a hold of his shoulders from behind. "Unless I time my footsteps with yours," a disembodied voice informed, dark amusement lightly lacing the words, "Are you sure you were a Robin?"

Up on the rooftop, the man scowled. ... Actually, sick as this was, he might have to come in on the clown's side. That kid was really, really annoying. He used banter in a different way then Grayson had (and to be honest, Nightwing had annoyed the crap out of him, too, even when he'd been on the side of the angels)-- all dark humor and no light quips. It was like... it was like the guy actually thought he was BATMAN. Just the thought of that made his jaw tighten.

Crimson Dynamo barked orders in Russian over his communicator. And in the next few seconds, the Commissar's forces stopped their advance and suddenly fell back.

Firestar, 'Batgirl', and Gotham PD had been returning fire and then noticed that their opponents fled. Angelica looked around, "What the..."

'Batgirl' spoted Firestar looking at her from across the ruined street, and shrugged at her, "I don't know either."

Firestar then saw Crimson Dynamo hovering high in the air waving 'goodbye' to her and flying straight upward, "Uh oh.... What?"

The pair of heroines turned their heads at a sound of distant 'booms', then heard a high-pitched shrill whistle grow louder and louder. Jinx's eyes widened, "Oh crap! EVERYBODY, FIND COVER!!!!"

'Batgirl' dove behind a retainer wall, and a split second later Firestar and others were doing the same. Next, several explosions showered that set of blocks, as artillery shells detonated.
