Gannon didn't know where to start. "Hikari... I... Look, you're not a burden on anyone. If it weren't for you, me and just about everyone else we've been goin' with lately would probably be dead by now. 'Sides, yer emotions are what make your songs so good. What am I gonna listen to if ya stop singin' like that?" The Teru smiled at her as he lead her toward the door. "Hmm... Should probably return that chair. Guess we could stop in and pay the crossdresser a visit, eh?"

The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~  When the Teru mentioned her singing, the Reyvateil hesitated, surprised. "Listen to?" She brightened a little at his words. Not knowing quite why, she confessed, "When I was locked away in the labs, some of my only memories from when I was little were of when I sang in that dark little room. I remember... I would pretend there was a huge audience out in front of me cheering, waiting for me to sing. I would pretend... and for a little while, there was no room. There were no labs, no experiments, or anything scary. Just crowds of people cheering, lights and my voice. Afterwards I would go backstage and my mom would be there, telling me how proud she was. That was my only dream! I lived for that dream. I had to, because I had nothing else to live for. It would have been so much easier to give up and die. There were so many times when I wanted to." She shook her head. "I don't know why, but suddenly I felt like I had to tell you that."
 When he mentioned the cross-dresser, it took Hikari a few moments to realize who he was talking about. She cocked her head sideways in confusion before realization dawned on her face. Then she scrunched up her nose. "Seriously, I believe Aaron," she retorted hotly to the Teru. "If he says there was no other choice, then that's how it is! He wouldn't do something like that because he enjoyed it! Since you're the one who brings it up all the time, I think that you might be just a little jealous!" She teased.

He couldn't help but laugh. "Yep. Ya caught me. I just can't wait ta rock a dress." The Teru pulled the chair up next to Hikari. "Here. Climb on. I'll give ya a ride back to the clinic so we can see everyone. 'Kay?"

Nereus Feeling a bit better from the sound of the flute, Nereus close his eye as he try his best to loose all focus and stay calm. As soon as he close his eye, he was sound asleep without a care in the world. After awhile of sleeping, Nereus began to talk during his sleep. "No, it's to dangerous to go alone. I know we dare you but you don't have to prove anything. Come down Buni, the sun is already setting and think of what your parents are going to say to you when you come home late."

"Naw. I'll be fine. Between yer songs and a good night's rest, I'm in pretty decent shape. If it weren't fer you, it woulda been a lot worse." It was true. During the battle, he'd been completely at a loss. Seeing that face... If it had been anyone else, Zek would still be alive. He wouldn't have hesitated.
The Teru put those thoughts in the back of his mind. He'd have to deal with them sooner or later, but not at the moment. "Here. Let's get goin'."

As soon as the Reyvateil sat down, the Teru began to push the chair toward the clinic. [I wouldn't worry about that. I've known that family for a long time. They aren't that close. If anything, you gave Mana and Miko an excuse to get out for a while longer.] The walk to the clinic was short, and relatively easy after Hikari had used her song magic on him. His limp was all but gone. As they entered, he glanced around and spotted a nurse. "Hey. Can ya tell me where that blonde guy who got brought in yesterday is?"

The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ Hikari stood quickly, not wanting to be mistaken for a patient and carted off into another room. "Where is he? Will he be okay? Can we see him now?" She practically demanded of the nurse."Well, good to see the both of you are feeling better than earlier this morning," the nurse returned with a slight frown. "Though you really should let us finish treating you next time instead of sneaking out." She crossed her arms and glared at the Teru in front of her before turning back to the Reyvateil. "As for your companion, he is still unconscious but the surgery went well. With any luck he'll be able to leave here within a week or so." She nodded toward the other room. "I believe your half-Teru friend was waiting for you. She's currently tending to another companion of yours. He was injured in a very mysterious manner earlier this morning. I will go let her know that you both are visiting the human and she'll join you shortly." She ushered the Reyvateil and Teru in the room and closed the door behind her.
Hikari clasped her hands in front of her chest. Her feet seemed frozen in place. "A-Aaron...?" She hated how weak her voice sounded but didn't know what she could do to change that.
He lay there before her on the bed, completely bandaged so she couldn't even recognize him. She shuffled her feet and managed to force herself over to the bed. "This is all my fault," she cried, clasping her hands around his bandaged arm. "If only I were stronger then none of this would have happened!" She turned to the Teru, tears forming in her eyes. She bit her lip, looking away. "I don't want to see this happen again!" The Reyvateil pulled back from the human and clenched her fists. "There's no avoiding it, I suppose." She hugged herself. "My Songs just aren't strong enough by themselves. Gannon, I... I was just wondering if you... if you could do an install on me." She couldn't bring herself to look at the Teru. "If not, I understand... But I need to do something. I have to be stronger. Maybe if my Songs were stronger, I could have protected Aaron or saved Zek..."My Song is a Shining Light

She was awake. She had been awake for some time. She stood in front of the room window, staring outside. She glanced back to the people sharing the room with her before returning her gaze back to the terrain in the distance beyond the window. This troubles me. I don't know how I ended up here after I last fell asleep. Every time I try to recall it, I end up feeling drained. She frowned. I wish there was someone in this group who could run diagnostics on me. But then, is there anyone left down here who possesses that level of skill? Who is capable? Or is this simply a lapse in my memory from the attack? Or worse, is my memory becoming fragmented because I am close to auto-activating the Critical Purge? "No, please let there be more time," she prayed in a whisper. "I don't think I could bear it, if I awoke to nothing but a barren tower..."

"Mysteriously injured, eh?" The Nurse had said He, so it could only have been Ishira or Nereus. He couldn't see Ishira doing anything to warrant getting hurt, so it was probably Nereus. "Probably peeked in on Mana in the shower 'er somethin..." Gannon followed the nurse and Hikari into Aaron's room. The Teru wasn't surprised to see how beat up he was. Even with the human's armor, the attacks had been ferocious. It was probably blind luck more of them hadn't been killed.
"Aw, come on. Walk it off, kid!" He said as he stepped up to the bed. He would have said more, but Hikari seemed to be pretty upset. he decided to stop teasing the human. He doubted if Aaron had even heard him. And, as Hikari started talking, he hoped the human was too out of it to know what was going on. He doubted that Aaron would like hearing what Hikari was saying.
The Teru wrapped an arm around the Reyvateil, trying to comfort her. "Hey, it's alright. It most certainly wasn't your fault. We all made the choice to go, knowing how dangerous it was." When she brought up the install, he was quiet for a moment before nodding. "If that's what you feel you need, I'll do it."

Hearing movement in the room, the half-Teru shot awake. She realized afterward that it was one of the occupants in the room so instead of jumping up, she yawned and stretched, sitting up.
Then, she noticed just who it was and her eyes widened in surprise. "Nel! Erm, Nelia! Whatever!" She hopped to her feet and stood beside her, checking the Origin over. "Ya just left us before." She frowned. "What exactly is goin' on with you?" The half-Teru wasn't joking this time. She was genuinely worried about the Reyvateil.

 She nodded. "I... I'm really scared... Installs..." She was glad that the Teru had a hold on her or she was certain her knees would have given out. Just thinking of installs gave her the same terrifying feeling of dark, tiny metallic rooms.
 "But... but I don't... know what else to do... I have to do something!" Her hands curled up in the fabric of Gannon's shirt. She took a few more moments to cry into his shirt but finally calmed down and sighed. "Nothing's going to change if I keep crying here all day, right?"
Hikari then realized that the Teru had wrapped an arm around her to comfort her and the tiniest smile appeared on her face. Even in the midst of all the terrible things that had happened, Gannon had managed to cheer her up. "Thank you for everything. I mean it." The Reyvateil reached forward and hugged the Teru close.

The younger twin blinked in confusion at the human's words. "Bunni?" She didn't have time to think too long on it before the nurse came in. "Oh, hello!""Your comrades are visiting the human boy." The nurse informed her."Oh, thank you..." She turned back to Nereus' half-unconscious form. "I will be right back," she promised Nereus before nodding to the nurse and stepping out. She walked down the hallway to Aaron's room and opened the door to see the Reyvateil crying and the Teru hugging her. She cleared her throat, feeling slightly awkward at walking in on them at such a moment. "Sorry... don't mind me. I won't be in here long. Nereus is delirious and needs me." She approached the human on the bed, putting a cautious hand on his arm. "How is he doing?"

"No!" she croaked as she bolted upright in her bed. Her ragged and rushed breathing as she accessed her surroundings offered no relief from the heat building inside her. She tossed her covers off and stumbled to the bathroom to splash her face with cool water. On the edges of her mind she felt a unknown tug. She took in a deep breath and striped for a cold shower to ease her fever. I feel like I haven't slept at all. I wonder if this is the virus or something else? I do not think the virus could affect me like this, despite being a conduit. Perhaps I am suffering along with the tower?
