"Di Yu?" she repeated, and not without a hint of criticism. "You had to go there for information?" Terrible images went through her mind of the unsavory creatures that inhabited even the shadows of the lamp posts in that place. "Pyralis... and you went alone?" Shaking her head in silent disapproval, Anna's energy began searching for any wounds or places where pain was residing. Whether or not Pyralis knew, but if there was, that pain would become a dull ache on a corresponding place on her own body.

Already he knew she would find the gash in his side and the bruised ribs, but like a young boy in trouble, he wasn't going to be the one to bring it to her attention. They were bandaged, so he figured it was fine for now. He was a fighter, not a healer, pain was normal and not thought on.
It was silly how already he had been reduced to feeling like a small boy in trouble. Her disapproval, silent as it was, was felt by the dragon as if it were tangible. As his story went on, he didn't feel it ease up at all. "Only sometimes." His gaze met her disaproving gaze for a moment before flicking back away. "Ok, in Di Yu I was alone, but when I went to Purgatory there was an old friend that showed me around." There, that was acurrate. His friend was far from being any kind of fighter, but he hadn't been alone when he showed Pyralis around.

"Ah!" A sudden stitch in her side made her jump and gasp. So, he had indeed been hurt, and wasn't about to tell her anything. "Pyralis..." she growled, immediately taking her hand to his side. Seeing him recoil a bit, she knew she had found the right spot. "You were hurt! What was it that got you so badly?" Soon after she had located that wound, her ribs began to ache as well. If that pain wasn't as bad as he was feeling, Anna couldn't imagine how uncomfortable he was. "Poor dear..." Her healing began in soft waves from her hands, regardless of his feelings on the matter.

Though he was soothed by the process of her healing, he winced from her words. Knowing this was coming was far from experiencing it.
"From what I could tell, I ran into friends of our evil spirit." He let out a deep sigh feeling the wound in his side close up. Having not thought about it, it felt even better for being healed so well. "Don't look at me like that Anna, please my dear. I was safe." For the most part. "And I did somewhat find what I sought. I believe the spirit in this realm came from an unamed realm." Unamed realms were far from the definition of safe. They were the realms that hadn't yet been classified and explored. Many were unstable while others were just forming.

Really, she could care less about where the damn thing came from. Pyralis, her love, had been attacked by something like it, and had once been in great pain. And she, Anna, had not been there to help him. That was far more distressing to her than finding out where it had come from.
Once his ribs had been healed, and the gash in his side mended, Anna felt very, very tired. Energy was so hard to manipulate in the human realm... "Yes, that's all well, but... oh, I can't help but picture you in great pain, bleeding, and I wasn't there." Her cheek rested on his chest. If that warmth ever faded, if her love ever died... she couldn't even bare to think of it. Her life would be forever cold. "I love you. I can't help but get upset over these things."

A heavy sigh and he wrapped his warm arms around her. As much as he didn't want to, he understood. "I'll let you know next time I have to go somewhere dangerous. I promise. " Anna was feeling just what he would have felt. The only difference was that a city was in danger of being destroyed if his love was in a dire situation. He gently stroked her soft hair. "Close your eyes A'mael. Your dragon is home now." He was hers and always would be. Rest, I'll keep you safe and warm. The gentle nudge to her mind was soothing. Already his own body had relaxed into the couch with her head over his heart. The beat you hear ceases only when yours does, dear Anna. They could discuss what he found after she was rested. She would care later.

There were times like these when Pyralis made her almost weep with happiness. But she wouldn't, because she knew it would distress him to see tears in her eyes. With a final snuggle, Anna felt like a child again. A child, listening to the beat of a heart full of love. A short nap wouldn't hurt, she thought. Love you... Anna drifted off into a slumber, so deep that it was dreamless.
---
She was unaware of how much time had passed since she had fallen asleep. The elf's cheek, which rested upon the heart of her beloved, was very, very warm from his unnatural heat. With a few squeaking noises, Anna began to wake up and stretch. How much better she felt after that nap!

Having come straight to his love after his travels, Pyralis had dozed off himself. As soon as Anna moved, his eyes opened slowly and he stretched his arms. Did you sleep well? The elf certainly looked like her energy had been restored. This caused another smile.
It was then that a rumble interupted the silence from the stomach of each of them. Pyralis chuckled. "I think a meal is in order." Finding his pocketwatch, he glanced at the time, unsure of it as well. "Hmm, and it would seem to be dinner time. Where to my dear Anna?"

"Mmm... I'm not sure," she said, rather sleepily. "I think you should decide and surprise me once more." In the habit of waking up slow, Anna didn't move from her place until several minutes had passed. Everything was perfect... her newly-bound book in hand, her love to keep her safe and warm, and he had just returned from a dangerous journey. Even he was safe.
When she did move, though, she stood to smooth out the folds of her dress. Even the fabric of her clothing had kept the warmth only a dragon could produce. "You're like a living heating pad, you know?" Anna said with laughter in her voice. "Let's go try and fill up that stomach."

He grinned. "A daunting task my love." Standing as well, he held open the office door for her. Pyralis just had to think of where to go. They needed somewhere well-suited for private convorsation.
((Sorry, couldn't think of more to put))

Anna donned her grey wool coat and bag (with her precious book inside) before taking his hand and leaving for a place to eat.
((Anna is now out of her office.))

Anna returned to her office after being excused from the Headmaster's, along with Pyralis. Though it had been a good discussion, clearing up most confusion and setting grounds for what had to be done (should a rip actually be the case), the gentle ribbing from his mother and Kaien had been slightly embarrassing. Very, actually. But Anna took it in good stride, as did her love.
Really, now that she had the time to think within her own space, she had handled it all rather well. She had only ever been in one relationship throughout her long, but still considered young, life. And that had failed miserably. Practically her entire family had to make her acknowledge what a terrible match she had made, and even after it was said and done, they had to in a way save her from her beaux's aggravation. What a way to be introduced into romance, or lack thereof.
With a sigh, the elf eased herself into the chair behind her desk. Pyralis... now, he was a dream come true. And she did not love him because of his looks (though they did make her heart flutter) or of his high standing at the school as a dragon (though it did make her feel very safe). No... he was so much more, and she couldn't even place her finger on half of what all else he was.
Thinking of her love with a giddy smile on her face, Anna pulled out some tedious paperwork and began on it. Make-believing that Pyralis was with her (and not using the mind link so they could actually get work done), the work passed by until the stack was all filled out and orderly upon the right hand corner of her desk. To anyone watching, the entire workload was handled with what seemed to be utter joy, as if filing student information was the epitome of life.
Two more hours... she had to occupy herself for two more hours. No students had come in, but then again, few did around this hour. And so, having nothing better to do, Anna began examining the book shelves that she had inherited. It surprised her so to see that she had completely overlooked this detail, as most of her own books had taken up the lower shelf or had gone into the library. The memories of Kaien walking into a completely tome-filled room made her giggle. What a wonderful way to have met him so.
But the dust that had accumulated did not make her smile. How sad that these books had been left to gather the particles! Her shelf had been waxed and cleaned, and was well-kept. But this very top shelf... oh, the poor dears. Surely they would need a good dusting, gentle cleaning, and a reassurance that all was well and they had not been forgotten. For, to Anna, a book was as good as a living thing, as the words had been thought up by someone with a heart and mind, the pages created and read by others much the same. Books were grand connections to people she couldn't imagine.
For the remaining two hours, Anna brought out wax and rag, and thoroughly cleaned both the books and shelf. By the end of her deed, each book seemed to be years younger, and the office had a pleasant lemon scent to it.
"There we are," she said, placing the last book, a leather-bound edition of herbs and how to care for them, in it's place. All was well, and it was time for her to leave.
With everything back to how it was, Annabelle turned off her lights and locked her door, going to her own room to wash away the wax and dust from her being.

The once black-winged angel slowly walked into the room, it being the only place he was truly comfortable in, and noticed that Anna was currently out. Damien sighed slightly. Great. When I need her, I can't find her. He slowly sat down in the corner farthest from the door. Hopefully, no one will find me here before she gets here...can't blend in as well as I used to. Damien unfolded his currently white wings and slowly ran his hand over one. He sighed once again. He retracted them and ran his hand through his now bright blonde hair. He closed his once green eyes and leaned back against the wall. Time to wait...

Anna cheerfully opened up her door with a lovely tune hummed under her breath. The morning had begun, along with another day of paperwork, lists, and new students.
But the boy who caught her eye immediately made her jump. "Oh! Oh, good heavens, you frightened me..." He was an angel, that much she could make out, but... but something was very wrong. It felt like... "Damien? Damien, is that... is that you?" The elf set her keys down upon her desk before going over slowly to her friend. It was a good thing that elves established relationships more on energies than sight, or else she would have barely recognized her friend.
"What happened?"

The once black-winged angel sighed lightly, knowing that she would react like that.
"It just...happens. No one knows why...though my father thought is was to blend in with surroundings...snow and all that fancy stuff." He shrugged slightly and once again ran his hand through his bright blonde hair.
"Do...do I really look that bad?" He asked hesitantly, fearing what she would say.
