Jelena had not been a happy person over the last two weeks...crutches...damn things. If she could get her balance and keep it, she would be the happiest woman in the world, her bilogical clock could explode and she wouldn't care. At least the crutches were a good tool to use whack people who pissed her off at least three feet away could get hit easily.
Currently she was sitting at the MISSED system, putting information into the system the old fashioned way despite the upgrade that it had gotten. Kept her mind occupied. But that only lasted so long before she was grabbing her crutches and heading off, pissed as it made her...and if she got yelled at one more time about trying to walk around without them...she was going to hurt them.
So much to do, and she wasn't moving at warp speed like she was supposed to be and thus she was pissy. Especially since this new proposal her and Hydal had been working had been being met on and what not. So then, mumbling as she hobbled more or less down the hall.

James looked back and forth...hmm...no techs. must be on lunch hour or breaks for this area. a little hacking later, as Jelena had been rather..peturbed with his actions during the birthing. Lillia though it cute, But Jelena didn't want a Fenrir situation with James and Cerebus. too late for that probably. But inside the enclousure, petting and being generally 'civilian' with Cerebus, though he was also checking her for any potential problems. She was going to be a big dog. much bigger than the Fenrirs, by all indications. That almost made him a bit..prideful. to outdo the mistress of echoes in the size of her favored Fenrirs on his first attempt into the process.
Now to play fetch. This was more a test of the fact she had three heads. and out she went, one head grabbing one end, another getting a bit and the third just looking annoyed. they'd learned not to try to appease all three..it had caused a nasty scene.

It was too much to ask for balance wasn't it? And there was little anyone could really do. But she had made her way back to the enclosures by this point...and ditched hated crutches by the main door...and was using the wall to hold herself up...she really needed to do some more upper body workouts, do some pull ups or something. This was just plain hard.
Not to mention stupid looking...walking with one hand gripped to the walls and barring of enclosures, the other arm held out, and steps being toe to heel fashion, one right in front of the other...it was horrible stupid looking indeed...
A passing glance at the enclosure that now housed the little...or rather big cerberus. CB-F01. She had come along nicely...proved that progression did make for better developments. She figured he would get past her security and be lovey dovey with the think...but she couldn't fault him on that. As subjective as she may try to be, with some she couldn't. Like her first fenrir.
Right now she was standing infront of thier enclosure, watching them go abotu thier day. However she was reluctant to join them...after all, they were pack animals and she was considered part of that pack...only now she was the lame wolf in the pack...and she was uncertain how they would respond to that. Thus she was kept out by herself when she really wanted to be in. However a smile when the big ten footer alpha male idly came to be bars, sniffing at her. "Hey there big guy..."

James pet over all three heads, noting the jowls, the looks. those jaws were powerful enough to snap bone, given enough provocation he was sure. and the eyes. one set red, one set green, and one set brown. seemed to be a precursor as well to attitude. the red eyed head was the most aggressive, green most inquisitive, and the brown most friendly. Of course, he heard Jelena's voice. damn. he was going to get chewed out for sure on this one.
"As per instruction. one team, ready to go."
The General paced in front of them, looking over each of the six in turn. Communications expert, explosives, sniper, shortrange weapons expert, tactian, and the odd man out, an animal expert. Just in case of Echo interfereance.
"Trained by whom."
"Richard Connings, second lt."
"Are the familiar with Commander Moria?"
"Of course."
"Good. I want us airborne and ready for space travel in a day or so at the latest. Brief them on the Fleet setup, and I want our animal expert briefed on what we know from the Echos."

She sighed and rested her head on one of the cross bars, sighing...oh how she wanted to be in there right now and petting all over them...but she had to settle with merely petting the big wet nose that was thrust against her outstretched hand. On this side of the enclosure, they couldn't tell anything was wrong with her. "I gave it all up for you...you...my vision, my dream...Gave it all up. My family, my friends, my credibility...even my body. All for you." Another pat at his nose, scratching up his muzzle some.
Jelena would admit, as the weeks passed...she had been getting more and more skeptic about this getting better thing. Balance was not something easily fixed at all. And they had tried some creative things...like turning up her grav boots even to provide a sort of hold. "But you're worth it...so worth it. Even if I never really walk again." Though she turned her head at the unmistakeable sounds of a happy three headed pup...the new ones were always noisy.
"Are you playing with that thing it it was a house dog again James?" Calling across the back lab, the sound carrying easily.
Michael slammed his hand on the desk as the latest transmission that had been sent up to him had ended. The military was not happy with his threats...good. But that didn't mean that the dog was going to lie down and sleep, and stay that way. A look to Erik who had been put back on SF duty and had been at Michael's side the last two weeks. "Donner...I'd like Fleet to be put on Standby....able for immediate lockdown...I want all ships coming in completely scanned before docking, I want fourty eight hour notice and clearances, and I want this place restricted in the ways of earth granted goods and provisions. We're going to fly half solo."

"Um...no? I'm studying the reactions between the three heads, and how to judge attitude and her skill in stalking solo. she's getting much better at hiding and blending into the enviroment. Judgin from paw size, and the jowls, not only is she probably going to be bigger than your Fenrirs, but we're going to have to be very careful about upsetting her. judgin from her hold..she's going to be very hard to get off of something she grabs."
This of course was being tested by james standing up, arm over his head, trying to pry that stick away from Cerebus, who's paws were firmly planted on his chest, jerking back trying to keep her stick, little nub tail wagging a mile a minute.

"You can do all of that without touching them you know, or in a testing room. Don't give me an excuse, I know playing when I hear it. You're playing with her." A little chuckle she let echo across the place. Really she couldn't fault him on it...let him have his moments from time to time. Just as long as he didn't tame her...it was okay for her to see him as her father, but not as an owner. Like Jelena's Echoes saw her as a parent figure.
A bump at her hand drew her attention back to the wolf born creature. He had laid down at this point and was actually licking at her hand and arm...to which she had to pull her arm back at that point...he was a little rough at times and she couldn't keep herself on her feet without holding herself up right now.
When she got her balance back, she was definately going to go for a run of the entire damn Fleet. A sigh. "Just remember, you're her parent figure not her playmate."

"I understand that."
Then a loud clank and thunk.
"Help would be nice?"
Jerking the stick away finally caused him to fall back, and hit the enclosure wall, and then get tackled by the huge pup, who was staning on him, bearing all her weight down and one head had the stick, another was gnawing on his bioware arm, and the other had taking to seeing if human hair smelled or maybe tasted good.

She shook her head at the noise and knew exactly what was going on. If it had been Eric there would of been a following sentence or two of cursing and what not. A little laugh, scratching at the fenrir's fur a moment longer before pulling her hand back completely. "Don't worry, I'll see you more...I just have to get my act togehter...
A shake of her head and she took a breath to prepare herself for hard, awkward walk over there, and no doubt a fussing over not having her crutches. "I'm coming you silly man." And it took her a good ten minutes to get over there for what should of been a three minute walk and a minute and a half run.
Clinging to enclosure cross bars she had to take a moment to rest before reaching a hand through the bars. James may of been the main parent figure, but she was recognized as one too, so this worked. "Come here girl." Knocking against the metal once before wiggling her fingers of course to get the creature's attention.

One head looked up, and barked, that got the other heads to look up, one holding a stick, before jumping off James and bounding toward the door, slamming up agasint it up on her back legs and all three heads vying for attention, sniffing, snorting, and panting, with her nub wagging.
James got himself up, hair mangled and bioware drooled on, but chuckling lightly.
"I think she is over enthusiastic when others come. I don't think she's a solitary breed, unlike the myth."

"Most dog breeds are pack animals. And she's just a pup, she likes attention." Letting her hand pet each hand in turn...would of devoted both hands but she needed to hold herself up now didn't she? Didn't like the idea of cold metal flooring. Of course that wasn't to say that she had to indeed put a bit more effort into holding herself up as the creature had slammed into the wall. "She's a tough little girl to say the least."

"Tough, strong, and damn heavy."
One of the times whe was grateful he didn't feel anything really in his bioware, so was able to straighten his hair out without the slimy feeling.
"And what are you doing without your crutches. you know better than that."
A look at her, nope she didn't have her balance back yet. So where were those crutches.

She looked away from the creature to James at his mentioning of her being sans crutches. "You know I hate them..." That was all she had to say on the subject. Needless to say her pride was wounded. "Besides...I thought I'd try again you know...but seems I'm not getting anywhere either." Another pet to an over eager puppy. If she had the strength to hold herself up and punch him, she would of...only because she had been in that mood lately and Erik wasn't around to punch.

"At least you could have asked Lillia to help you, or Rennell. if you fall down you won't be able to get up."
Speaking of which, he hit the little intercom button.
"Lillia, please report to the back echo labs."
Then a grin at Jelena.
"No complaints, you chose to come sans crutches, then you have an escort. Personally, I think an escort is better. being on crutches probably upsets your center of balance as is."

Lillia was tapping away on her ancient laptop, trying to get it to read the disc she'd shoved in with the Echo's stats on it. For the last hour all of them had told her it was a losing battle but she didn't believe it. She was going to get it to work. Grumbling she poked a key and listened as it made an angry noise at her. "Well it's not my fault you're running slow!" she yelled at it, then flushed when the other techs turned to regard her with amused gazes.
She typed in the code she needed, muttered some words under her breath and then hit another series of keys. "Come on...come on" And finally her screen lit up green and the 3-D image of the peryton filled it, spinning slowly. She typed in another series and the image scanned closer, using the green grid lines her ancient computer clung to.
Her eyes roamed the screen taking in everything and frantically began scribbling on the yellow notepad in front of her. James' voice on the intercom caused her to jump and she broke the lead in her pencil. "Gee thanks James." she muttered before typing in the eject combination and pocketing the disc. No need for others to come on and start trying to steal her work.
Making her way through the research labs she scanned her PAID and walked in waving. "Hello Jelly, good to see you up and about again. James, what can I do for you bionic man?"
