If Jelena's reaction time had been top notch, Jessica would of gotten a slap for that. "Hey! I don't go around forcefully shoving drugs into your body, how about some common courtesy? Good lord...your bedside manner is indeed atrocious."

"Don't inject me patient. I stay away from yours you stay away from mine." She was a little crazy sure, but a good woman who knew her stuff...if not overly eccentric sometimes. But he quieted and waited, as did everyone else until he saw Jelena relaxing some, which of course meant pain was subsiding. "Better?"

"Somewhat."

"Good." Said as he slipped an arm around her waist and pulled one on her arms over his shoulders. "Okay, just ease your weight onto your feet and stand up, take this one thing at a time and you know how it goes, just tell me what you're feeling."

A little nod as she slipped off the bed, hand gripped to Camp's coat for support as she let her weight bear as it was supposed to. "I'm not feeling anything but a bit of pain spike." Which was worrisome and pissed her off all at the same time."

"Give your body a minute."

"Not a drug, Jelena dear. and Mr. Camp..if you feel the need to inject Commander Moria with something, feel free."

Jessica went about her work, calm as ever.

James helped Camp, offering his arm for Jelena.

"just like the Doc said, give it a minute. it's alot for your body to adjust to right away. Though I will say this much advanced equipment from your old setup should adjust quickly."

Of course her other free hand latched to James arm, she really hated this. Hated it the first time and would never forget it, never wanted to repeat it but here she was, repeating it. Damn it. But she let her weight settle on evenly on her feet...though she still wasn't feeling anything. Well...anything besides pain pricks.

Okay assess...she knew she was standing, knew she was bearing weight, well most of it...but wasn't feeling it. For a moment it looked like she was concentrating really hard, and indeed she was...after all, when you spend a few years with bioware you learn how to trigger things. Come on, trigger.

Only drew a cringe and a hiss of pain. "Ow..." And a shake of her head in that 'this isn't right' gesture. Body was not happy with the new foreign system.

He rubbed at her back lightly...he really did hate putting her through this. "Okay I lied...it's a very high upgrade...and you've been on very very low sub standard grade for the past five years. And you're not even on full signal reception yet." Oh no, she was not going to be a happy camper.

Oh lord. That was not going to go over very well at all. James almost cringed at teh tirade that was going to be released, and jessica took the opportunity to casually slip into the soundproof back rooms for further analysis of various tests for upgrades to the biowares on james, rennell and a few others.

Oh the glare that he got from her. "I do believe you forgot to tell me that part." But her voice was calm, level...no screaming or yelling from her. Perhaps she was just to pissed to yell right now. And that was probably evidenced by the apparent calming breath she took.

"Then stop beating around the bush, turn up the levels and get thing going. I am behind my schedule in three days and if I am no one will be happy at all."

"You don't like the pencil jabbing brain pain. Would you rather have it feel like it's been chucked into a slow moving rusty blender?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 14, 2006 7:54 pm

"I'll handle the pain, doc. turn that thing up to what it needs to be to get it to integrate."

He pulled out the little tuning fork from his hand.

"The nanites that we're using to dull the pain, I'll just have them transfer the pain at a ninety-six percent rate to myself. it'll still hurt, but it'll get this thing into gear faster. and you tell me no, Camp, and I'll do it after I toss you headfirst out of the room and get jessica to finish this up."

She had been about to protest to him but stopped that a sentence of his later. James was a determined man and when he wanted to do something he did it. No argument...evidenced by the threat that was issued to Camp. Jelena gave a sigh. "Just let him do it Robert..."

He looked skeptical. But he looked bewteen the two and then sighed. Stubborn the both of them, no wonder they were dating...both horribly on track minded on certain matters. "Alright...but don't fuss at me when your brain feels like it's melting." Thus he walked over to the little instrument table, where Jessica had hours ago set there a syrine full of singal boosters. Which of course was injected into her IV line. Difficult woman...

James nodded lightly, and put the little tuning fork into Jelena's lower back, felt it attach, and that little red piece slid over his eye. wierd feeling as it came from under his eyelid..and he did what he needed to do. which was evidenced by the robotic slightly detached voice.

"Okay. show is all yours, Jelena. lets get you walking and hopping and jumping again."

A look over her shoulder at James. Excuse him but her bioware was inside. And she was cranky to boot...so whether she appreciated the action or not was debateable. Though she did feel those signal levels jump in the form of pain from too much stimulation. But with James helping that was subdued some...still her.

Camp gave a nod, moving to stand in front of her, taking her by the forearms and tugging on her lightly to get her stepping. They'd been through this the first time she had this done. As as the first time, a step she would take was shaky.

And Jelena noticed one thing...she could walk...could bear weight...but had absolutly no balance at all. "You've thrown my equilibrium off." A little glare at him then as she saw that look. "Say crutches and I'll hurt you."

"I won't say the word then...but yes your center of gravity is different now what with thatupgrade...I did esentially kill your natural balance. I'm just saying...a week or so on then just to get your balance."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 16, 2006 4:40 pm

"She doesn't need crutches. just have myself, Erik, or Lillia escort her. she can get her balance that way, no crutches, and we can support her if needed. Plus, it keeps her reach short if we do something stupid. a crutch woudl give her an extra two feet of thwapping distance."

Pain. Pain. and more Pain. Outward appearances aside, Jame's brain was trying to bash itself through his skull and strangle him for this idea. sure, be the big tough guy. no he had a brain that felt like something was trying to eat and digest it at a sloth's pace.

She looked to James over her shoulder a moment. "Can I sit down now...this isn't fun." Though continuing right on to James' proposed idea. "So instead of using crutches you want me to be totally dependant on another person?" Was that bad or worse...at least with crutches she was able to go where she wanted when she wanted.

...and like James said, have a nice long hitting distance. Nothing like hitting someone with your cructhes for something stupid they had done. Not to mention she was getting a headache...sure James was taking most the pain but there was still quite a bit on her and it of course was mostly directed toward her brain.

Camp sighed. This woman was entirely too stubborn for her own good. "Well it's up to you I guess, but you're not getting away from me without something. Animate or inanimate."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 16, 2006 5:19 pm

"Sure, feel free to sit down...and I didn't mean it like that..I just offering another possible solution besides crutches that's all."

So he helped her to a seat, and let her sit down, unplugging her form his own bioware. and sat down next to her and looked over at Camp with a shrug.

"Unless you have a third option, I can't see anything but either an escort or crutches myself."

A look to James. "Try not to do that again, good as the intention may be..." After all, Jelena wasn't really 'one with her bioware' as James was...didn't thrill her too much. Then a sigh. "I know...this is just frustrating is all." She rested her head in her palm a moment before bushing it back through her hair, then bringing it down to look at the IV line that was still stuck and taped into the back of it.

Then ot the men. "We'll see...I just want to go back to sleep right now...take a downslope from pain...you know?" Her subtle way of not wanting to make a decision right now.

Camp shrugged. "Could probably work something out, though don't expect anything spectacular."

((Going for a time jump.))

Izak had made it back to the projects room after having surveyed the succesful day of his team, further impressed that he wasn't the only one who wanted the project kicked in gear again made his day all the better. He sat there poking more systematic dots at the large blank paper he had earlier been working on. "If this works it should rid the need to recharge nanites regularly and instead let them run on their own power entirely, i just need the resources to produce it." he said grinning devilishly as he began dotting the paper again now over half full with the many placed dots.

James was watching the enclosure, idly, patiently...scanning it. Cerebus was nowhere to be seen. but that didn't mean she wasn't there. She seemed to be adapting well, and all three heads didn't seem to have neurological issues. But james watched everyday, hoping that if something did go amiss, it coudl be pinpointed and treated before it became something that meant she needed to be put down. Until the heavy thunk on the enclousure door, three heads barking and snapping nad nub tail wiggling back and forth rapidly.

"Seems your hunting prowess is getting better."

A slight grin at the massive dog. three weeks and she was near double in size. more aggressive, however, than the Fenrirs. As poor erik had found out first. her personal territory, her den, as it were..not even James got very close without getting snarls and growls and bared fangs.

The General slammed his hand on his desk, putting a dent in it.

"What in the flying ******** do you mean they denied it!?"

"They found your warmongering a bit overshot and Captian Norris threatened to cut off relations to Earth in response. So even if they did go through, if Norris cuts ties, he'd have full authority to fight back."

"And thant matters what to me?"

"You lose your element of surprise?"

"Pathetic, spineless wimps. I want a team ready. two weeks. trained for space combat, hand to hand, zero gravity training. I'll do it my damn self."
