We're doing a reboot/revision of the main RP, and I'm sure you've seen some of the rearranged stuff. I'd make a new thread but I'm not going to until we're done wrapping up the old thread.
There's a new condensed profile thread already out. I simplified the profile structure to the bare essentials so it could be used for any kind of character, and to encourage description and development in the reboot.
But before you fill anything out, check out the temp planning thread pages 1-5, to see planned changes to the new thread and throw in your own 2*n cents. Page 6 and onward is mostly tangential banter and formatting questions. The most important changes will be HQ (all of it) and how downtime will be handled for any characters staying there. The thread can also be used for brainstorming/discussing characters, if you're stuck on how to revise them.

So much information! but I miss you guys and would love to get back to roleplaying with you. I defiantly need to strip down and pretty much gut and revamp all of my RP characters since I started the main RP when I was still a buttheaded teenager. Once I get my legion of offspring fed and down for the night, I will check that s**t out and start working on character design (I have a ton of time for this being the stay at home dad now)

The best way I can answer that is "in some senses yes, others no"
A tiny fraction of the old thread's story-related continuity will still be in place, aside from Twi's character and whatever shared character history there is. On the other hand, there's a lot of similarities and we are treating this as if we just picked up where we left off. On the gripping hand, there's big enough differences outlined in the temp thread that fundamentally change things and thus can't exactly be called 'starting over'.
One of the biggest reasons why we decided on a reboot/revision was so people could start over or tweak their character in ways that standard character development wouldn't allow.
So yes, do start with a new character if you want to.

I just saw this post after I posted a three-paragraph response to your other post in the temp thread lol.
I'm not doing a whole lot of scrapping myself (other than the Serole Castle folks) but I am doing a bunch of rewriting and to the degree that it looks 'new'

I'll just be changing most of Luciano's History, and scrapping the bit about Michelle. His father is going to be dead, but not his mother. Basically, I'm taking away his Tragic history. He's going to be a Marine, but I'm keeping the bits from when he was still in the Race war (where the Dark Elves were introduced). I'm keeping that bit in there, because that's my favourite thing about him.

My entry-level humanities summer course is way more intensive than I expected... I'm not behind or anything, but god damn having to do 16+ discussion board posts a week plus tests plus research for two papers at any time. scream

@Angelo: Oh, and I didn't mention that for one paper, he wants 10 book sources for 10 pages. Can't find enough books? 30 journal articles. Still out of luck? 50 websites.
It'll force me out of laziness, that's for sure.
