She ******** with people. She loves ******** with people.
*giggles madly*
Oh, this is priceless.
It's even more interesting that these vets are all part of a disbanded unit. This is family, in the darkest sense of things.
Ah, Weston/Mory wangst. What would modism be without it?
And Chaos...Fascinating. *looks to the upcoming part two of her story*
*wicked grin*

On a reread (god your writing is addictive, Gendou), I think it's the sense of tension that has me most. I like the points of conflict things center around - Rowan, Cal, Ian, so on - and how each of those points is complex. The sense of history and larger things than the span of the characters is really nice as well. I still find the jumping aorund a bit confusing, but I think that can be attributed more to a me thing than a flaw in writing.
Also,t he tension between who knows what and the lines between friends and co-workers, given the nature of the work - is fascinating. You have a multilayered way of viewing the world that is very intrieging. Plus a knack for cliffhangers that don't look like cliffhangers. stare
Plus - me! *squiggles* You've very astutely picked up on the core of a lot of CoM personalities; it's interesting to see those interact with invented characters.

Rene's powers rock so hard. I wonder why Pryce didn't want Hammond handling her?
heart I always love how you handle dialog. The interaction between the three women, then the addition of the two males. It just works so well.

All caught up (haven't had time to sit down and concentrate since chapter 13). As has already been said, great stuff - keep it coming. The jumps in time work very well and it's interesting to see the contrasts and parallells of the two eras.
I'd write more here, but I'll have to save that for next time, since A) others have said the important stuff already, and B) I have other peoples' stories to catch up with as well. XP

Last few chapters have been awesome. One thing I noticed: Quote: "Kevin, no!" Aw, come on," Kevin urged. Extra line space, and a missing quotation mark. (Also, that snippet is very naughty when taken out of context. redface whee ) I love your character interaction; you seem to have my personality down PERFECTLY, even in situations you've not observed me in. And of course, my teasing of Robin is down to a T. With the older crowd, I'm especially impressed how well you keep them in character. There's a reason why my story doesn't have a large ensemble cast like yours do; I'm great with keeping people in character in small groups, but if I have a consistently huge cast, they start to bleed into one another. You've kept from blurring the lines between characters, and I'm constantly amazed by your ability to do so.

Westonian Rene's powers rock so hard. I wonder why Pryce didn't want Hammond handling her? Because Hammond is a is part of the Aberrant Superiority movement, as I suspect Rowan is as well. Re-read Cal and Wyndi's fight. Notice two things: 1) Hammond's internal monolouge as he handles Cal 2) Rowan's handling of both Wyndi and Cal. Note that we don't hear wyndi's side. Even if what Rowan says is the truth, it was said specifically to Cal so that he'd react. AGH! I'M SO DUMB!!! There's a reason the entire NK11 team is back and teaching, especially with Hammond. Hammond's about to pull a Roy Mustang, and wants the team he knows has shared his experience to pull it off. Rowan's already signed on, playing Mystique to his Magneto. I could be wrong, I could be way off...But there's a -lot- to be said for re-reading everything. Oh crap. RUN, KIDS! RUN!!!

I'm sorry there's no new chapter this morning, but Chapter Eighteen ended up running a lot longer than I expected, on top of my having more work than expected at the office. So you can at least look forward to a long chapter on Friday.

I'm such a dense reader, sometimes. sweatdrop Now I just need to figure out if you're right. Which means I have to wait until Gen is gracious enough to post the next one. I love his stories, but I happen to hate how it always ends with you waiting for the next one, as if it should be out in the next 5 minutes! crying

Sorry I haven't said anything in a while. sweatdrop
I thought the Cal and Wyndi fight was done well and, like Rommy, I suspect Hammond has some connection with the Aberrant Superiority Movement based on his internal monologue. Though I did fail to notice Rowan's handling of Wyndi and Cal; now it does look a bit suspicious...
And the dinner meeting between the teachers continues to show how great you are at character interaction.
Changing pickups into fish FTW! blaugh
Many compliments on the Rue Art too; I love all the portraits up so far. 3nodding Not to mention the profiles contain very interesting and useful info.
I can't wait to see more. heart
