"Feel free to take a seat as well," she said, gesturing to the chair just in front of the desk. Light brown eyes scanned the letter, and with a smile and nod, placed it down upon the wood. "Wonderful! Let me just get your student packet while I go over a few rules. Now, you'll be staying in the Maple dorms. Your room number will be on your key..." Which, she was retrieving out of the manilla envelope as she spoke. "Ah! Room 107."

Anna quickly plinked the key back in the envelope before handing it excitedly over to her guest.

She nodded obediently as she took the envelope. "I'm very gracious for all your help." she murmured softly as she felt the package, gently pressing the outline of the key. "Is it my own room or do I share with a roommate?" she felt silly asking such a question, but at her old school she had shared a room with a young girl who had no respect for personal property. "I'm sorry if I'm taking up so much of your time..."

Anna beamed at her. "It's my job! You're not a trouble at all, trust me." Seeing so many students come through her door had made her more comfortable with those who seemed uneasy. the Grove was a fairly large place, and so anyone would have the right to be a bit frightened.
"But to answer your question, no, you won't have a room mate. Seeing as admittance here is rather exclusive, everyone is given their own room. Also, keep in mind that the other dorms, especially Keystone, aren't for roaming around in. That goes for the Gatehouse, too. For your own safety, the Gatehouse is off-limits."
Anna gestured slightly to the packet in the girl's hands. "There's a map in there, as well as information packets. In the town of Moliné nearby, you can get your uniforms for the year. There's also a few shops worth visiting for supplies and meeting new people. Do you have any more questions?"

Annabelle had a knack for looking eager and open with all of her students, no matter what her own state was. Regardless of her tiredness, Anna truly wanted Scarlett to feel like she had, in a way, come home.

Standing to leave, Scarlett shook her head. "No, but I'll be sure to come to you if I have any questions. I do believe I'll just head to my dorm and unpack my things. As I stated before....there are a lot of them unfortunately. My father is quite paranoid. Part of me thinks he believes he's sent me to the middle of nowhere." Scarlett pushed a stray strand of hair out her face and gently placed the envelope in her green knapsack. "now...which way am I going?"

Anna stood up to direct her guest to the door. "Once you leave, you left and follow the path. You'll see the Maple dorms after a bit of a walk. I do hope you enjoy yourself here... and happy unpacking!"
A friendly smile was flashed before Anna gently put her hand on Scarlett's shoulder. "And don't be afraid to ask people for help. The staff here is very, very kind."

Once the girl was out the door and bound for new adventures, Anna went back to her chair to slump into the plush fabric. It was a good chair, and one that had served her well over the years she had owned it. Such a strange thing, she thought, for her to have brought a few pieces of her own furniture to her workplace, but she was going to be living there for quite some time.

"Well now... a lull. And what do we do when there is a lull?" she asked herself quietly.
The answer was given by her hand reaching for a book across her desk. The Count of Monte Cristo was another one of those classic reads that served for entertainment. Her edition was leather-bound, with the title and author stamped in gold. A beautiful thing, really.

Annabelle became quite cozy in her chair and began quietly reading aloud to herself. The world outside may have been cold, but her heart was aglow with the thrill of the dashing tale.

A figure that had been absent for a short time, now appeared in the hallway. The walk was sure and there was an air of anticipation about the man.

Traveling cloak still on, the bundle he carried was hidden. It was with the left that he knocked. It was likely that this particular man could have just walked in, but the expectant smile on his face gave away his enjoyment of the senario.

Pyralis was back.

"Do come in!" Anna said, while searching for some stray of paper to stick in between the pages. So much for a quiet day for reading...

Grinning, Pyralis opened the door and poked his head through first. "I hope I'm not interupting anything?"

Of course she was reading a book. Laughing at the supprise in her eyes, he walked fully into the room and placed the intracate fairy-made bookmark he had gotten for her and marked her place.

"Pyralis!" Anna's face broke into a wonderful smile as she set eyes on her dear dragon. "Where have you...been..." Her eyes caught the beautiful bookmark he had set in between the pages. Such intricate, woven craftsmanship was usually the work of fairies, and certainly didn't come cheaply. Emerald leaves turned and coiled around a golden archway that curved along the outside of the bookmark. In the center was a beautiful view of a fairytale castle. The small gift in her eyes was something very thoughtful indeed, as she always seemed to be in great lack of a good bookmark.

"It's wonderful," Anna said, gently closing the novel over it. "Thank you, dearest." And of course, her real thanks came through a warm embrace once she rounded her desk.

Closing his eyes, the man just held her for a moment. He had truely missed her. It had only been a short time, but it was still too long for him. "On an errand my dear Anna." It made him happy just to see her happy and he took in her breathtaking smile as they moved to sit on the couch.

Knowing she wouldn't be fond of where he had to go, Pyralis made the decision to offer the second present first. "This," The bundle was taken out and placed in her lap. It was bound in dark paper and sturdy string so that nothing would have been able to damage it while he was traveling. "is for you as well. I hope you didn't miss it, but the elves and fae folk were on my route. I had to stop." Only they would have been able to complete the work done on the present so perfectly.

Anna tilted her head, and with a quizzical look, took the small package in her hands. The only thing she had noticed over the past few days was that her Pooh stories had gone missing... probably sitting in between the bedframe and wall, where things liked to slip every now and then.

In order for him to see her reaction better, Anna tucked her legs under her on the couch and faced him. "Let's see what we have here..." With careful precision, her fingers untied the string, undoing knots and unfolding paper. Immediately the glitter of gold caught her eye. It was a title! Once the rest of the book had been exposed, there lay in her lap a leather-bound copy of Winnie the Pooh . At first, Anna thought he had bought her a new copy, but it wasn't until she had opened the book to the inside title page that she saw her own name, in a younger hand, scrawled across the top.

"You... you got it rebound!" With such an enthusiastic excitement, Anna stood right up from her seat and began pacing the room with it, turning it over and muttering to herself. "Shining red leather... gold leaf... raised bands... woven headband... the fore edges have even been trimmed slightly... and look at that, the new pastedowns and flyleaves have been marbled..."

Suddenly he was glad to have known authors and bookbinders so that he could tell what she was talking about. Still, even if he couldn't, the excitement as she examined the book was more than enough. He would never get over her childlike enthusiasm and joy. "I'm glad you like it. We couldn't have the poor book fall apart when you love it so much." Anna took excellent care of her books; this one was just so old it was time for it to be rebound.

He let her have her moment a while longer and he then patted the seat beside him, smiling in his warm way. "Come, be at my side again, dearest A'mael." Pyralis selfishly wanted to hold her to him again. There was a kiss he had yet to steal apon coming back.

"Gladly!"
But instead of sitting down with her new present, she dove into a fierce hug. "You sneak! You're the reason I couldn't find it!" Anna laughed, pulling away so she could see his eyes. Those glittering eyes were always full of mischief and love for her, and it was then that she could definitely see him pulling other tricks in his younger years. "This is one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received. Thank you..."
While speaking, she had settled herself in his lap much like they had been while sitting in the grassy plains, telling stories. She still wanted to know just where he had went, though.

He laughed and rumpled her hair once she settled before settling his arms around her petite frame. "You'll just have to watch out. I'm very sneaky." More laughter as he gave her a quick squeeze and then a kiss softly on the lips.

Sitting there with Anna on his lap, Pyralis was content and would have gladly sat in silence for some time. The only problem was that eventually he would have to tell this sharp-witted elf where he'd been. "Luckily, it's good to be sneaky while in Di Yu." He continued smoothly on as if he hadn't just mentioned the despicable place. "If you can't trick people, information is much harder to extract from them, and we need all the information we can get on the evil spirit that escaped into the human realm."
