Rabid stopped walking abruptly, but didn't look up from the ground.

"If that happens...if they get me again, don't you dare hesitate to get rid of me. I'm not gonna risk you guys getting hurt because I'm too weak to fight them off. Promise me you won't hesitate to do the right thing. Please," she repeated exactly what he'd told her, remembering for the first time. She looked up to Crow with watery eyes, gave a convulsive sob, and continued walking.

Crow gave long, withering sigh and leaned against the wall for support. Without another word, she walked back to her room and pushed the door open. She always forgot to lock it...

The room was exactly the way she'd left it - messy, music blaring, the refrigerator door open and its contents raided. Setting Lenore down on the bed, giving Sadako a cool look as the doll stared at her, she peeled off her coat and threw it on the couch. It fell on a few articles of Julian's clothing, left laying haphazardly on the couch's arm.

A choking sound struggled to get out of Crow's throat, and keeping it down was far too painful.

Don't cry don't cry don't cry-

Slamming the door shut as hard as she could, she took a deep breath and screamed in her real voice, a grieving, unearthly sound that made the windows rattle as twin voices crescendoed in suffering.

Lenore started to wakefulness and looked up, watching Crow scream. Covering her ears with her hands, Lenore sniffled and curled into a little ball, crying not for Julian, but for her mother's grief.

The next morning was disturbed by a rather loud series of knocks on the door. Jabir was on the other side, with a furious expression expression stamped on his face

"The tree sentinels haven't stoped screaming eversince they saw the blue fire and they told me you were involved in the event. I demand an explanation" his voice was low and hissed, but every syllable was sharp as ice

Crow sat up in her bed, wide awake, adjusting the clothes she'd slept in as she opened the door for Jabir.

"Whassamatta?" she asked sleepily, trying to wake up. Reality hit her like a sledgehammer as she remembered everything.

"Oh....yeah. It might take a while to explain...c'mon in."

Sitting on the edge of her bed, she didn't wait for Jabir to reply as she started to answer him.

"The white fire the sentinels saw was this thing called We-Who-Watch. They possessed my brother and forced him to bring me there, and they kidnapped me and Lenore. Well, they only wanted me - I'm not sure why they took Len, too. Anyway. They took me 'cause they wanted my soul - my jerkwad of a dad sold it for...well, that ain't important."

She paused to dab at her eyes with the hem of her sleeve - just thinking about it made her tear up, and talking about it was agony.

"My brother....he came to find me. And he did. And he took my place - he's stuck there now, and I came back here."

She sniffed and looked up sadly.

"Does that answer your question?"

The temperature seemed to drop as Crow went further with the explanation. As she reached the end both their breathes were completely visible

"So you 're saying your father is the reason for all of this? For leading a foul entity into our grounds, putting everyone's safety at risk and destroying you life?" Jabir's tone grew louder and angrier, despite still sounding as cold as the air in the room "He won't get away with this"

He kneeled down at Crow and spoke softly at her "I need you to show me the way. What has happened can't go unpunished... unless you want it to"
Jabir knew first hand how painful this situations were, but measures had to be taken and the sooner the better

Crow stared over Jabir's shoulder at nothing at all, half-formed plans of vengeance hatching in her mind. But as her thoughts fell back on her brother, alone and enslaved to save her from the fate he'd stolen, only grief filled her heart.

"I can show you the way, but it's up to you what you want to do about it. Just don't kill him - he's a fool and a mediocre human at best, but he's my father."

She paused and sniffled again.

"And children love their parents, no matter how evil they are."

Jerking a thumb towards the window, Crow turned to look at the Vehilii she'd let run loose. The baby biomech was hovering about, tentacle-like cable legs gently splashing around in the shallow end of the lake.

"If I tell that thing where to go, it'll bring you to my homeland and back as fast as you want. It'll bring you right to him. And then....well, like I said, man, it's up to you. I....I can't do anything. I'm just so damn tired."

Sliding off the end of the bed and cracking her knuckles absently, she looked at Jabir with exhausted, lightless eyes.

"So, what d'you wanna do?"

"You're a good person Crow, no matter what others might say" he couldn't help himself to admire her good heart, to want his father to live despite the way he treated her like trash

He looked at the young vehicle playing "I can't fit in one of those" actually it was true, but he could never bring himself to stay in such a tight place anyway
"But I have a more convinient way to travel. You just need to think the location you want to go and I can take us directly there in a split second"

He looked at her for a while, at how tired and beaten up she seamed to be. Strangely it cooled down his anger a bit "I wouldn't ask you to do anything, not being in that state. I just need you to be by my side and act as my guide. You don't even have to watch if you don't want to"

Though her worn-out body and mind screamed in protest, Crow nodded solemnly and stood. Sleep could wait - after all, sleeping would only bring nightmares of blood and fire, and she had business to take care of.

Focusing on the clearest memory she had of her old home, she craned her head up to look at Jabir.

"Ready when you are."

He hold her hand and with a flick of his other arm he opened a portal in the middle of the room. The air turned clearly solid, a watery surface standing in front of them. But instead reflecting and distorcing the surroundings of the room it showed the entrace of Crow's parents mansion

Guiding her through, Jabir lead the way to the other side. A cold sensation tingled down their spines as they crossed the huge, but short space between both places. As soon as they were on the other side the portal closed behind them

"Where to now?"

Leading Jabir by the hand through the giant courtyard, ignoring the startled security guards and the frightened barking of the attack dogs, Crow marched resolutely into the mansion. It was roughly noon in Rijan, and knowing her father's love of never-deviating schedules, she knew where to find him.

Ten minutes later, she burst into the lunch room, still holding Jabir's hand. And sure enough, there were her mother and father, sitting at opposite ends of the long table laden with food enough to feed an army for a month. Yagadath, his laden fork halfway to his mouth, turned gray as he looked at his daughter.

"You?"

Crow shrugged and let go of Jabir's hand.

"Me."

Crow's mother gave her daughter a slow, hateful look, and then turned it on Jabir. Deciding not to comment, she turned her icy look back on her daughter.

"What have you done with my son, you putrid wretch?"

Crow looked up at Jabir, craning her neck to look him in the face.

"Whatever you wanna do, do it now, please." she said, her voice caught with exhaustion.

If Jabir could blush like normal people his face would be red with anger at her mother's atitude. The whole place disgust him, an endless waste of money in his opinion, but this last statement was simply unacceptable

"My pleasure" he replied at Crow in a low voice, his second mouth slits starting to show in an evil grin

Suddently all the windows and doors closed at the same time, shatering the window glasses and the door frames with the impact, and a metalic sound came from all the locks, clearly indicating no one could either get in or out
Then the table was tossed into the air by an invisible force, scattering the food all around the floor before crashing loudly on the other side of the room

Jabir walked calmly towards the hatefull woman, ignoring completely yhe destruction he just caused or the expressions they gave him
"There is no need for that foul speech here. For you information he just sacrificed his freedom and soul in order to save your daughter's future"

Crow watched the proceedings emotionlessly, moving only to pick off a bit of roast chicken that had landed on her shoulder. Jabir was frightening to the point of ridiculousness - she hadn't known he was so powerful.

Yagadath leapt out of his chair and held his head in his hands as Jabir spoke.

"My son... my son..." he said breathlessly, eyes wide and face strained in shock. He looked up at Crow and gave a savage growl.

"You miserable common-bred b***h! It was your place, not his! What have you done?"

Feriska, too busy shrinking in her seat away from Jabir to pay attention to her husband's melodrama, stared at the destruction the towering being had caused.

"Sarah, call off your attack....what ever it is!"

It! IT!!! Okay, now he was pissed!

With a quick move of his left hand towards the man's direction, the chair started to melt and stretch around Yagadath's, tightening around him nearly to the point of suffocation

"AND HOW'S FAULT IT IS IN THE FIRST PLACE??? WHO SOLD HER SOUL TO THAT ENTITY IN EXCHANGE FOR GOD KNOWS WHAT???" his jaws were fully opened now, revealing the long rows of sharp carnivorous teeth
"You are lucky Crow asked me not to kill you. Unlike you she has a heart" a low growl came from his throat, but having such a long neck the sound was amplified and distorced several times, sounding like a pack of hungry wolfs
PostPosted: Sun Dec 04, 2005 2:31 pm

Crying out at the pain of it as the reformed chair crushed him, Yagadath turned his stare from the terrifying creature to Crow, who was watching with utmost apathy.

"Sarah...?" he spluttered, gasping for air and giving her a confused, analyzing look. Feriska screamed and scrambled out of her chair, tripping over her trailing skirts as she fled for the door. Crow was leaning against it, arms crossed and examining her nails without interest.

"Not gonna open," she said mildly to her frenzied mother, watching the woman tug at the ornate handles in desperation. Feriska spat at Crow and sneered.

"A heart, eh? The heart of a blood traitor beats under that common-bred flesh. You are no daughter of mine."

Crow took the insult better than she expected. Letting her claws grow long, she raked them forward and dragged them down the wooden door threateningly, leaving long, jagged gash marks as they easily cut through the wood.

"I asked Jabir not to kill you. That doesn't mean I won't."

Feriska drew back in terror, eyes fized on Crow's jagged claws.

"You wouldn't harm your own mother."

Crow smirked.

"I'm no daughter of yours."

She lunged at Feriska, cuffing the woman hard on the side of her head. Feriska fell hard to the marble floor with a satisfying thud, unconcious. Brushing back the hair out of her eyes, Crow nodded at Jabir.

"Let's finish up and get out of here - just breathing in the same room with them's making me feel sorta icky."

Jabir looked with mild interest at Crow's reaction while he tried not to be taken away by his instincts and gut those people on the spot

"Alright". He turned his attention to Yagadath once more, his slitted mouth bearing an evil smile

"For all the pain you caused I should kill you and leave your bones to the vultures. But if it wasn't for you Crow would have never met Lenore, and for that I am thankful". The chair stoped binding him and tossed the man on the floor without cerimony

"But I can't allow you to go unpunished, so..." he rested his hand on Yagadath's head
All the organs stoped working for a split second and suddently started to re-arrange themselfs in the most painful maner. Every millimiter of flesh burned with an excrutiating pain as the man morphed into the most deformed and mangled version of a human being known to man
"... welcome to the common-breeds". He removed his hand and droped him on the ground, leaving him there to recover from the pain. He had made sure every single nerve was fullly opened to the pain during the process

He then turned to the uncouscious Feriska "As for her, she is as guilty as her husband for allowing this situation to continue and never shown any love towards her daughter"
With his tail he picked the woman by her ankle, high enough to touch her heart with his hand "For that I curse you to follow your husband's path, to serve and aid him wherever he goes, for neither of you will be able to stay in one place for long" he let her fall on the ground and turned towards the mansion itself
"And has for all your wealth may it never touch your greasy fingers again!"
