It's pretty good, never played the original. Go through the game kicking a**, and then we get to the mandatory "You in the space-faring equivalent of a ford pickup truck vs. the single largest, most well-armed dreadnaught ever constructed" level.

Plus it seems to be required for sci-fi things to have an alien race called The Ancients that died thousands of years ago.

Yeah... I didn't get that far on the first one, because it didn't really keep me interested.

Also, when you said Freespace my mind went to Freelancer... which is just a gay ripoff of Wing Commander: Privateer, which was the most hardxcore space piracy, drug-running, bounty-hunting space game 1993 had to offer. mad

There was this one space game I played online for free, but I keep forgetting the name. Had different ships and teams. Just flew around and blew each other up. It was pretty fun. Wish I could remember the damn name of it though!
