And teasing or not, I did find it interesting. *Shrug* Different tastes I suppose.

BookWhore faolan BookWhore I can't help it. I am very sarcastic but I tend to be more harsh towards the people that I like. You should see the way I treat my husband. rofl I'm just a b***h. Eh, I hear you. I'm just in "mock" mode by default generally... 'course, my mom's hypersensitive and... well, nucking futs, but that's beside the point. You should hear some of our conversations. She ends up sounding like Pesto, that Goodfeathers pigeon from Animaniacs. o_O* hehe...."are you talking to me...ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?? DATS IT!!" i love the animaniacs. EXACTLY!!! "Mom, no, that's not even in the same dimension as what I was trying to get across... no, no, I'm not sassing... no, I'm not implying the first thing about your intelligence, but you're starting to tempt me... well, that's Dad. How is what he thinks relevant? No, I'm not... no... no, mom..." LOL I should record one of them sometime, really.

ok, this s**t is getting kind of out of hand. i am a huge advocate of paying child support. i am also largely in favor of ORS handling the transaction by directly garnishing wages from my check to pay said child support. But as always, I've got some serious ******** beef.
Yes, I have, for the demographics of this area, an above average paying job. This means that my order for support is figured on number of kids/annual pay or the ability to make dollar amount earned at time of filing/disposable income percentage.
I have no disposable income. No matter. I do ok for myself even with nearly half of my check being garnished for child support. So basically my salaried rate is only half recieved. This is before including federal and state tax, insurance, and repayment of my student loans which i also opted to have taken directly from my check. Without getting into specifics, with no overtime, I have over $630 deducted per check, the rest being my disposable income.
Again, I don't think this is unfair. I helped make the kids. I will gladly help support them both monitarily and physically. I'm not a weekend dad. I talk to my kids every night. I take them most weekends, not just every other, and starting last summer, I take them for a solid two months, during which time I still pay child support.
And I'm ok with that.
What ******** rubs me to degrees well beyond chafed is the fact that my ex-wife, who ironically enough works for the Juvenile Courts as Senior Court Clerk, with duties like SUPERVISING A DISTRICT JUDGE as well as runing an adult drug court. With that job alone, she makes a fair amount more than I do.
This is not a considerable factor in the amount of child support that she is entitled to and I am required to.
Now, add on top of that her weekend bar tending job. Sure, she doesn't make a ton of money at it...it's more a social venture than anything, but it is a second source of income. By comparrison, I am nearly unable to get a second job due to the fact that 5 out of 7 days of the week I'm 24 hours on call, with no extra compensation. It's part of the job.
So, if we put child support aside, her and I are still not even in the same tax bracket. Good on her. Also add to this her subsidized housing, something every divorced Utah mother is entitled to and would be foolish to pass...you only pay based on a percentage of your income (and child support doesn't count as an income source...go figure) just by the merit of having to suffer even the most amicable of divorces. So, I pay just under $600 a month for my two bedroom apartment so that I have room for my kids when they come and she pays $170 for her 4 bedroom house.
Are you getting the point here? Child support would be paid by me whether it were required or not. But its just that...support for the children. Not a ******** get richer quick scheme. I wouldn't know how to calculate what amount of moneys she is entitled to. We both buy them clothes. We both feed and shelter them. She's making out like a ******** Trump due to the statutes of the great State of Utah.
And even she knows it's wrong. She's a good kid. She asked the case worker to alter the amount to something more reasonable or even necessary for her expenditures as the custodial guardian.
Their answer? It's either the amount stated in the divorce decree or nothing.
I would never ask for any of that money back. I know it gets used for my kids, but it's hard to see it that way when she has a new car every year, amenities that I could only dream of AND gets to spend the majority of time with my kids.
Paying child support is fair and right. Paying child support at the expense of one parent and making the other rich beyond the feduciary care of the children, however, is not.

*Nodnod* I remember my mother fighting the system just to make my father pay ANYTHING. It didn't work. I think he payed about 5 months in 14 years? Not that the money she did receive was ever spent on me, but that's beside the point.
It's flawed everywhere, but that sounds even more ********.
