Hello! My name is Abigail or Abby. On Gaia, my name is Damaru Merodi. It means "silent melody". I have been a Catholic all my life. I go to a Catholic school to add on. My teachers and parents have carved me to be a true person who loves and cares for others, no matter what. Even when I hate them, I feel that I should still help. (Plus, I have a guilt matter that my friend, who is less patient, doesn't like all that much...) I hope that this guild will be a great place to have conversations about religion! 3nodding

I just joined the group. My name is Kipluck and I tend to be either super active on Gaia or virtually invisible, depending on how my health is in the real world. Other than battling my health, I spend a great deal of time with my animals, or online, usually researching religions and cultures. I LOVE to learn. Personally, I am Christian... specifically, "Mormon" (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). However, as I have friends of MANY different faiths I find discussion of such FASCINATING.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell (and it's very cramped in here!) you are welcome to find out more by clicking on my profile, of course!

Welcome, Kipluck. Glad to have you in the guild. I just moved to Utah not too long ago *cultureshock* and I'm now learning quite a bit about the LDS religion.

Allo there. Name's Mangolyn, or Mango. Whatever. Pick something, be consistent, and I'll answer to almost anything ^_^
I was born into a half-Christian household. My mother was Nondenominational Christian, and my father believed in something, just not THAT. I went to church off and on, maybe totaling less than half the Sundays, for the next ten years, all the while feeling there was something off. At this point I began my deep and quenchless religious research (yes, I was that sort of ten-year-old), and eventually landed on Paganism (years later). And I couldn't be happier. It makes sense to me.
I've had my share of problems due to religious intolerance. I come from a small town with 14 churches. And not the most open-minded of people. I was beaten up once at school when my pentacle fell out of my shirt and I explained. And I'll never forget it. There's a scar on my left hand to remind me every day. And that is the least of it.
So here I am. Hi.

Hi and welcome, Mangolyn! It's horrible that stuff like that happens to people just for having different beliefs. I hope you don't look down on Christianity as a whole because of a few intolerant people who chose not to follow Christ's message of love after all. Glad to have you as a part of this guild, and here you'll be able to find tolerant people of every faith.

Life's a dance you learn as you go Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow Hi people mrgreen I am Sarah and I am 18 years old. I never really grew up religiously but my parents are still strong believers of some supernatural diety "god" as for they are Muslims. And in theory I am supposed to also...but I don't blaugh I have been an atheist since the beginning of high school and just a few months ago I started learning a lot about Satanism. So now I consider myself and Atheistic/Laveyan Satanist. Don't worry about what you don't know Life's a dance you learn as you go

Hi, my name is ffdarkangel. I was raised methodist, which is also known as lite catholic. I am very open-minded and will almost accept anything. My mom and sister are methodist and my dad doesn't believe in god. My family that went to church doesn't go anymore because we felt uncomforable. Actually, that was how I always felt. Everyone was so closed minded that if you even mensioned the word gay or if you cursed, they look at you funny. So right now I guess I am Christian blended in with different themes of other religions. I'm 13 years old and are very interested in different religions. Somehow, it is fun to read about other peoples beliefs. Yep, thats me.

Evenin' folks. By way of introduction, let me say that, yes, I am indeed a member of a monastic order. No, I do not sit around in sackcloth and fast all the time. While there are orders that require that, the vows that I took (and please note that I'm not ordained like a priest) were a bit less harsh but still somewhat strict. In actuality, the vows I undertook are similar to some of the ideals of Buddhist tradition. Which is not a surprise. The White Robed Monks of St. Benedict have been conducting inter-religious dialogues with Buddhist monks for many years now. If I had to label myself I'd say that I'm a Zen Nazarite. In college, I majored in English, minored in both History and Art, and got a diversification in Philosophy. Went to grad school (for English) for a while, joined the Benedictines, and began to delve heavily into linguistics - in part so as to better understand other cultures as well as be able to read their religious texts in the native tongues.

Hello.
My name is Carol and I'm 21 years old.
I was born a Protestant. I never really had any problems with it, but...I don't know. I was always unsure. In 8th grade I started researching different religions, trying to figure out what fit the best with my beliefs. I spent nearly three years being agnostic, I suppose. Then there was a point in high school when I decided that I was Wiccan. This never really went away, but in faded and mixed with some ideas of my own that I started jokingly refering to as "the religion of me". Meaning, it wasn't really one religion or another, but it was what I believed. I believe in an afterlife. I don't believe in hell. I believe in the soul. I believe things happen for a reason. I believe that people are capable of calling up energy beyond what's scientifically provable. I read Tarot.
My favorite symbol is the Hermetic Rose Cross, which is a cross with flower in the center, each petal has a hebrew letter on it. Each end of the cross has a pentagram with element symbols on it. right below the center is a 6-pointed star. It also has alchemy symbols around the edges. That's the basics of it. It's a complicated symbol, but it has a lot of meaning, and I personally love it.
My main principle is that I'll accept anyone's beliefs as long as they are tolerant of mine, and accept the fact that anyone could be right or wrong. I like intelligent conversation.

You may call me Scare/STP/Toga.
I was raised in a secular household with an atheist father and wiccan mother. When I was young I became interested in Christianity and started going to a Baptist church by my own choice. After a few years I decided it didn't work for me and left. After that I jumped from an interest in my mother's religion to agnosticsm to some odd form of theism.

I never went to church when i was little because the only church my parents would attend is the one in which my grandfather preaches at. I am still that way. But every now and again i want to go and seed what the other presybterian churches are like. What i am. But i am not sure. I don't study religion. I believe but that is about all.
