Tomy stumbled backward as the bullet grazed her cheek, leaving a fine line of red across its frail surface. Tomy winced as her lower back connected harshly with the cement pavement. Growling and bringing a hand to her cheek at the stinging sensation, she glanced to Nick with a curious stare.

Was the bullet intended for her head? No, it was too perfect to be an accident. Glancing to the truck, Tomy mentally sighed as she saw the bullet only knocked against the door. Meaning the vehicle could still operate.

Tensing against the ground, she craned her neck toward where she suspected the bullet came from. "******** hell."

"What in blazing hell?" Nick dropped the box of food rations and pulled out his Desert Eagle AE, crouching down behind the side of the truck. He looked up to where the shot came from seeing nothing but shattered glass. "Damn, just what we need: someone that hates us. You okay?" he said torwards Tomy.

Nick looked around trying to find a possible attacker, but couldn't find anything. He stuck his head out from the back of the truck; No shot was made. He jumped out of the truck and began to pace around it to see if their attacker would make another bold approach. None. He sniffed the air to try and catch whiff of any dead bodies; Nothing. "Well whatever that was, doesn't seem to be around anymore."

Tomy watched Nick as he paced around silently, then frowned at his words. Hesitating to step away from the trashcan that had so wonderfully protected her from danger, she sighed and got up from her crouch.

"Geez.. what am I? Target practice?" She growled, fingering the scratch along her cheek. "Whatever, lets get out of here."

Nick stopped his pacing and gave a big sigh. "Yeah. No sense sticking around to see if we'll be shot at again." He holstered his Desert Eagle and his M3 as well. "Since Forest will be in the back, guess I'll take shotgun." He turned to Forest in the back of the truck and said, "You think you can handle things back there by yourself?"

Reevinja
He only waited for her a few moments before shaking his head and entering inside himself, letting the door close on it's own with a click and leaving her outside until she decided to come inside. His boots made like tapping noises against the tiled floor as he moved, slinging his rifle off his back and bringing it upward to point in front of him.

"Jay?"

He asked, his voice raised. When no response came to his call, he responded by calling again:

"JASON! Damnit! Stop being a crackpot and get your a** out here."

He knew the man probably didn't do crack but comments like that usually got his blood boiling to no end. Though, as nobody came out still or even spoke, Reeve began to get annoyed. Heading over to one of the hallways, he kicked the wall heavily before proceeding down it. As he passed each door, he sharply turned to look inside as he moved to make sure there wouldn't be any surprises like there had been on the roof.

"JASON!"

The man yelled again, passing yet another door that was closed. On a sign hanging from the door around the center it clearly read: "Ammuntion Storage." Though it would most likely turn someone off with the rather large lock and amount of smaller locks upon it. Reeve didn't care however, kicking that door too but far lighter for it was made out of steel over wood like most other doors in the building.

"Carrie, wait here."

He said, reaching a turning point in the hallway which lead both further straiht and turned left. A sign on the wall by the intersection read:

"(Arrow Upward) Bathrooms."
"(Arrow Left) Offices."

His eyes scanned the signs for a few moments, turning left and heading down the hallway toward the offices. His weapon stayed firmly in front of him with his finger on the trigger - his feet making soft taps upon the tiled floor as he moved. He had a bad feeling that Jason had been killed by one of those creatures... If he had, the least he could do was bring the man's body.

"JASON!"

Reeve yelled again, pausing near and office that read upon a black plate in white text under the window reading: 'Jason Tyler King.'

"Jason?"

He asked, knocking on the door with the barrel of his rifle. He waited a few moments to wait for a response but like the man expected - none came. Releasing the trigger of his firearm with his right hand, Reeve lowered it down to the doorhandle and grasped it firmly. With his left hand, he manouvered the strap of his rifle around the same shoulder and withdrew his Revolver.

"Jay?..."

Reeve turned the doorhandle, pushing the door inward sharply as his right hand moved to his Revolver and he stepped inside. Quickly, he turned to his left and then to his right to make sure there was none of the creatures to either side of him. The room was empty, a doorway to one of the file storages hung open slightly and Reeve could hear a slight moan coming from said doorway.

"Damnit..."

He muttered, moving rather slowly over toward the door way now to make as little to no noise as possible. A click sounded through the office as Reeve pulled the hammer upon the weapon backward.

Tomy nodded and didn't waste anymore time. Immediately she headed for the driver's seat. She was glad Nick hadn't taken position on driving, she found this car, and she would be the one driving it.

Opening the car-handle door, it gave a slight squeak in protest, but opened slowly and allowed Tomy to slip inside. Shutting the door quickly, she set her rifle beside her and started the engine.

Glancing toward the building they, just minutes ago, left; she remembered the other man dressed in uniform. Should she go inside after him, or leave him be?

He could very well be the one who shot at you.

A little voice in her mind spoke up in her mind. Tomy shrugged, whatever.

The three of the roared away from the shoot-out area. Nick was glancing out the window, Tomy was driving, and Forest was doing who-knows-what in the back. Two S.T.A.R.S. and a junior police officer. This is quite the party, he thought. Well as long as we'll keep each other alive, I suppose.

He glanced over to Tomy. "So where are you taking us?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:43 pm

"Where do you want me to take you?" She asked back, keeping her eyes focused on the road at all times.

She figured the man would want to head for the police station, but part of her mind steered clear from that area. She was just there, and she didn't want to go back. But those people..

Shaking her head, her eyes hardening on the flashes of yellow lines as she sped through the desolate streets, those people would have to fend for themselves; she couldn't protect everyone.

"Well, our best option, other than getting the hell out of here, is heading to the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team station in the south-eastern part of town. It mostly has info that will be of use to us. By that point, we'll be able to figure out our next move." He glanced back out his window. Besides that, it should be the "safest" part of town. I just hope that remains to be true......

Tomy gave a defeated sigh, half expecting the answer, half not wanting to listen. Nodding silently, she began on the familiar road toward the S.T.A.R.S team building. The building was right beside the police station, she hoped this guy knew what he was doing.

Flicking the radio on after sitting in uncomfortable silence, she was rewarded with static with the occasional voice intercepted with the connection.

The buzz was unnerving, so Tomy flicked the radio off with a quick swap of her hand.

Nick broke away from his trance and gave a small chuckle to Tomy's annoyance. "I tried that earlier. Something's been blocking most of the radio waves in the city." He glanced over to Tomy, noticing the annoyed look on her face. "So besides hell being set loose...again," he said, "What's eating you?"

Tomy slumped her shoulders and gave a slight pout at his statement. Sighing and offering a side-glance in his direction, she quickly moved her eyes back to the road. "I'm hungry, tired, dirty and the dead are chasing after me."

Tomy gave a slight chuckle as well at their current situation. "Other than that, I'm just peachy."

He had to give an open chuckle to her sarcastic, yet truthful, statement. "Yeah, same here. Though it's usually my job to go chase zombies, not the other way around." He shifted his weight so that he wasn't leaning on his Desert Eagle. With that he gave a big sigh. "I could kill a couple of people for a Philly cheese-steak sandwich right now." His stomach gave a huge gurgle as he said this.
