((And I thought this thread had gone the way of Elvis Presley and Tupac! It's a miracle, a...hmm not quite christmas yet... It's an All-Saints Day Miracle!))
Sursqueek looks up from his tome and after sipping some of his morning tea and then turning back to his book realizes that the tent's population has doubled! "Hm? Oh, more Generals it seems, well, as it is said, 'The Greater the number of living entities in one area the more likely laughter' or as I once heard a scholar, perhaps to drunk on his research to realizes the shortness and horrible conciseness of his statement,'The more the merrier'. So I assume you are aware of our present circumstances and mission, and given the seeming lack of overt leadership we have, and influx of Black Ops and Research leaders, by which I mean myself, Sursqueek, and our fellow commander whom I will let introduce himself as he wishes, I was hoping that perhaps one of you would be willing to fill this black abyss of leadership that plagues us like, well, a full moon when engaging in less-than-legal activities. At this time we have been discussing the merits and demerits of dividing the army into specialized groups, and, at least I have, wondered what is your opinion on such an idea?"
((for if we are cutting out Eira, I'd like to recover the alchemic items I produced for her...if that's ok with the DM))

Immediately Nikolai stops writing and looks up at the speaker. Putting away the notebook, he breaks into a light chuckle, exclaim "Oh ho! I guess there is an oasis of intellect left in this desert of meat, muscles, and metal. I can see some benefits of breaking up into specialized groups. But the thing that one must keep in mind is balence. To send in a force of said brainless oaf with their toys and retaining our most hardy and handy is rather ill advised. We are then better off strapping large quantities of Alchemist fire, rumblesticks, and arrow heads on each other and charging in. No, I propose to refine that idea by sperating them by function. Say a group that can distract with sound and sight, while another version sneaks in to steal, infiltrate, or poison. Yes... poison... why have we not been trained in the act of poison use. I must remember to bring that up should there be a meeting of the minds." exclaim Again the notebook materializes and he begins to scribble.

Thanatos smiles as he listens to the words exchanged to between the other two generals. "They think me to be a fool, ahhh what a wonderful turn of events..." Thanatos thinks to himself as he continues the revisions on his planned group of assassins.

Sursqueek notes the use of the notebook in his own notebook. "Then we are in agreement, or at least as I've heard it said 'reading from the same letters, most likely by the same same author in all likely hood in the same book', or in a much lesser form 'on the same page'. The plans we were going over were to test our soldiers and based on the results of the tests, send them into a division best set to their skills, not to separate the elite from the whey, after all there is always room for improvement, at least so I have always believed, but our main need is not some "brainless oaf" as it were, but a more traditional leader, someone that can command troops well for open battles should the need arise, but ,while on the subject, strapping various alchemic devices to units and throwing them into battle is very effective, especially if warpstone can be used...or so I've been told. Divisions we were planning on as I previously mentioned include R&D, Black-Ops, and Infantry with many possible subdivisions thereof. Of course adding a magicks devision would be wonderous, but at the moment impractical."

Tucking the notebook away yet again, exclaim "Interesting break-up. Though I rather disagree to magic being impractical. Even the most basic of spells can influence a battle. A greasey patch here or there can prove a difference maker. In fact! Ammuntion conservation can be at an all time high. In fact... by sending a a few arcane mystics we can launch great numbers of managed spherical energy release of no less than 1850 Kelvin...hehe...better yet, instead of mystic we replace them with rune inscribed post organic-" exclaim That last of it is cut off when Senka baps Nikolai in the back the head with a scroll she is holding, ninja "You were heading to mad savant mode again." ninja exclaim "Thank you Senka dear... By the Abyss, if it weren't for the need of military morals" exclaim The last two words being spat out, exclaim "I'd have Tactic: Abyssal Rain and Tactic: Cold Infernal up and running. Unfortunately both requires the creation of undead that self-destructs when destroyed and setting them ablaze. Hmm? Is it just me or has the camp gone somewhat quiet?" exclaim

"Well, since the main part of our plan is to split into groups, im going to go out, and search for, well, those people, you know the ones who specialize in sneaky stuff and other type thingys. Yea so....i will be out there...doin stuff...yea" Thanatos says. With his poorly worded speach finished he leaves the tent in search of anyone with a shady backround. (Unless of course he is stopped or questioned by another general.)

"Well, looks like we will need to start preperating the exams without you which means, of course, without your input, we might not be able to properly challenge the soldiers in your areas of specialty such as poisons, backstabbing, cutting throats, stabbing in the dark, collecting taxes, politics, and, of course, "beating" the house at their own games, that is what you were going to test them for right? As for the creation of a magicks division, it's true we have not actually tested anyone, but I believe that we should not dwell on the idea too much as it is not likely we will find many magick users (at least not many that will admit it) though I would be quite joyous to find some, because, as you stated previously, a spell small in stature can have a large effect on the battle, especially given our opponents likely skill in both swordplay and sorcery. Also,I must say the idea of..ahem..'modifying' existing organic weaponry is much more comforting to me than re-activating activities in the nervous-system post-mortem...though there does seem to be some potential in combinations therof as well... We might benefit to compare research sometime."
((Is a brief description of the course and a combined intelligence check enough to plan this thing out? Also, are we allowed to take 20 on said check?))

"I think i will be testing them on my own for the most part, I have gained a keen eye for these kinds of people. And ussually its possible to overhear some information that is useful in making the judgements on whos who and whether they are nefarious. All this coming from owning a bar once...before it was burnt down by the kings men in there capture of me...I shall have to see about compenstation for my bar...I am quite angry it is a large pile of ashes now." says Thanatos as he continues to walk out of the tent.

Men bustle around, seeming to look busy while some actually accomplish tasks. None stand within a fifty paces of the tent Thanatos leaves. The wind changes direction.

Thanatos pulls his cowl over his head masking his face in shadows. He starts towards the tents, and the clusters of men, eyes keenly looking for anyone who looks like they have spent time on the streets, stealing and begging. Those are the best types of thieves, they do it because they need to, so they work to constantly perfect their skill, even if they aren't the most skillful, you can always count on them to be loyal to a constant source of coin or booze. As he nears the men he lets a purse of gold drop from his hands. He takes his time picking it up, ears trying to take in anything they can about the soldiers. With the purse retied he gets up and walks away, slowly, consious of the purse, waiting to see if anyone tries to make it their own. "Curious" he thinks to himself "I would have thought my men got the message and would have already arrived here." (the men being the ones he had the messanger send a note to. Furthermore I believe spot and listen checks are in order. +1 on each)

"Well it unfortunately looks like we'll have to keep any extra eyes on our special ops dept...Just in case you know, but for now the task at hand presses on us. Now I was thinking that a good way to go about it..." Sursqueek begins explaining his plans for the tests they will run, particularly the written exams which will determine the size of the alchemic division. "Of course it is essential that I have your cooperation in this as well, especially in the case of leading the army, my own skills are more...primitive when it comes to commanding vast numbers of creatures, naturally my appearance as well is likely to disquiet the troops as Beastmen are usually well known for their inferior intellect. Madame Senka, if you are as charismatic as Sir Nikolai has implied, then perhaps you would be the best leader for our troops." ((Not to be pushy, but if DimitriFate doesn't disagree, then I'd like to start putting this thing together. Intelligence Check (take 20 if able )=...um well it looks like I need to re-create my char...so I'll assume it's 22 for now. Intelligence Check (rolled if needed) =18+2=20 ))

ninja "I see no problem with that." ninja
exclaim "That's wonderful!! Um, Senka dear, before we progress any further with any sort of plans, where is your dear little Hunapo? I don't remember seeing since we left the building." exclaim
ninja "Don't worry too much about him, if I need him, I'll call for him. Otherwise he'll turn up when he wants to." ninja
