Alister pulled out the wine skin full of dwarven mead. "Don't say I didn't warn you." he laughed as he removed the stop and began to pour. "The recipe as ben passed within my clan for several generations. Made of some of the finest ingredients this side of the continent. With some added dwarven spices." he added as filled the cup. He then offered some to gunner and poured himself a serving.
"To new beginnings." he said raising his tankard.

"I haven't."Ganner said, and held out his own cup for Alister to fill. When he had he took a whiff and his eyes widened at the potent scent.
When Alister lifted the tankard Ganner did the same with his cup and repeated after him, "To new beginnings." Then he took a drink. He could taste spices, and they were good, but all of that was overpowered by the sheer toxic potency of the alcohol. Ganner's eyes flew open wide again and he managed to swallow his mouthful of mead instead of spitting it out all over himself. It burned all the way down, settling in his stomach where it felt like it was setting him aflame from the inside.
"Nine hells!" Ganner spluttered and coughed.

"To new beginnings." His grin shone brightly and he down the cup in one smooth motion.and he exhaled feeling the burn of the dwarven brew in his throat as it made its way to his stomach. He watched Ganner his grin growing slightly. "That is a fine brew Alister." Then he patted Ganner on the back and chuckled. "Its always the worst the first dozen or so times."

Ganner coughed again and cleared his throat.
"Damn. You could have warned me I was about to drink liquid fire." Ganner grumped.

((I apologize for the lack of activity guys. been rather busy with RL so haven't been on for some time. I'll post up when I can.))
Alister took a large gulp of mead and let out a big sigh. "Ah, now that's the taste of home." he said. He let out a hearty laugh when the others did not share in his sentiment. "Haha, I suppose it does put fire in the belly for those who are not accustomed to deep dwarven ale. Don't worry, I'm sure one you get used to it, land ale will never taste the same." he said.
After they had shared in meal and drink, Alister inquired on what their plan was and if they would be making any stops along the way.
((not sure what you guys have in store for the adventure so feel free to take the reins.))

Ironclaw looked down at his cup for a moment, staring at the empty space that had been full of Dwarven mead. "I have no stops, but I'm not against them should either of you have need." Then he smiled and looked up from the cup chuckling to himself.

Alister gulped the last of his mead and let out a satisfied sigh. "I have none as well. If you mean to stop for supplies or any of the sort, by all means say so. I'm assuming we are not in such hurry to arrive at our destination correct?" he asked while he noticed the stars appearing in the sky. "Looks like it will be lights out soon. I can take the first watch. I don't feel sleepy in the slightest." he laughed. He grinned heartily at the others who looked a bit flushed from the mead.
"Go on and sleep. I don't hold it against you." he said.

"Well, I'm not one to turn down that offer." Ganner said. "Wake me when it's my turn."
That said Ganner undid his sword belt and set his sword and crossbow within easy reach before tucking his pack under his head for a pillow and closing his eyes.

Ironclaw looked at them, the smile still plastered on his face. "Well, I don't sleep, so if you need me for anything I'll be up there. " He forked a thumb over his shoulder and started turning as he looked to Ganner, "May glory and women find you in your dreams." He laughed heartily and with a few strides he was running up the tree, pushing past the limbs like one might people on a busy street. Then he settled on a branch closer to the top that would still support him properly and leaned back relaxing a bit as he watched the area around them.

((Alright. Officially morning then.))
Ganner rolled over in his sleep where he lay on the ground and happened to roll right into a spot of light shining through the branches of the trees. The beam shone directly across his closed eyes making him squint in his sleep. His brow furrowed in protest and his eyes blinked open directly at the sun. Ganner threw his arm over his face and rolled back over.
"Ugh..." Ganner groaned. He yawned and stretched and then moved his arm so that he could look around him.

Alister slept like a log after his drinking session. Perhaps it had been a long time since he had a good atmosphere to share a drink. Lately it had been mostly monotonous or grim times so he usually didn't feel festive. However last night was good and the discussion was uplifting as they swapped stories and tales of their own travels. Many of which were probably exaggerated due to the alcohol, but to each his own. He awoke to the sounds of birds and rays of light shining in his eyes. The campfire had long been burned out, but small coals of light still burned dimly.
He yawned and stroked his beard mindlessly as he stretched his arms. A new day and a new adventure. He noticed movement among his companions and saw that Ganner too had awaken. "Morning lad." he said as he sat up and began rolling his sleeping roll while patting it to rid it of dirt and leaves.

((Grr! Gotta edit my previous post. My damn tablet keeps auto-changing Ganner to Banner...))
"Guah..." Ganner groaned. "Mornings suck..."
Despite his complaints Ganner rose and stretched again.He bent to pick up his sword belt and belted it on and then settled his crossbow into its proper place as well.
"So what's for breakfast?"

After placing his belongings back into his pack, he rummaged through it wondering what they had. "Not a tavern's meal if that's what you are hoping." he replied with a chuckle as he found a the package of rations. He waved the small parcel in the air. "A section of cheese, bread and a skin of water." he said finally. "Unless you wish to take another swig." he said bringing out the dwarf ale once more, but put it back as he knew what the outcome would be.
Alister looked up into the tree's canopy and could see that the light's rays were still warm and not too bright. It was early and just a few hours after dawn. "Come let us finish packing and our meal before we resume our journey." he said taking a seat and placing his pack and weapons to his side.
