I've been revisiting the rules a bit and am looking at making stats per-county using the map: An easily visible, "green means more value & higher authority" kind of system. That should help bring an added depth to realms and actions in it which I think should help inspire more inner-realm RP.

Just so everyone knows, I'm looking at moving the RP to the forums I originally got the inspiration for this kind of game from: Based on how hard it's been to find and retain members, it just looks like Gaia isn't the place for this kind of thing. crying

Rules are up; I opted to keep most of them to myself since a big issue with the last time was it seemed overwhelming to some people. (I've played war games with books full of rules! Books I say!)

Since I think it will help some people, I've opted for historical dynasties to start. You can still create your own, of course, but I think a little structure will help things out.

Ok, I think the rules are probably on their final version. Still behind-the-scenes tweaks, of course, but nothing the players should have to worry about. I also have the main map up too: Italy's closed for now, but I was planning on taking the first emperor so that shouldn't be a problem.

The big thing now is to do some more work on fleshing out the major titles, but I think we're approaching sign-up time. Since Otto is the emperor and Bruno is a clergyman, I'll be taking those two. Mieszko and Boleslaus are off limits until the Germans are filled up too. Feel free to ask if you have something else in mind; you aren't just limited to historical figures, after all. smile

Oh, and any questions or comments about the setup would be appreciated. Even just "Hey, this'll be neat, I'm looking forward to X" discussion helps: If nothing else, it helps motivate me. smile

Ok, I have come to a decision: At least to start, all RP will be in a single main thread. It's just a much more common way to do things on Gaia and last time it felt like things really stalled outside the main Diet threads.

Currently up for grabs are Duke Buchard III of Swabia and Herman Billung. Creating your own characters is also an option. smile

Branches that have left the empire or are deceased and deceased spouses and parents that don't tie to other dynasties are pruned or merged into larger dynasties for brevity.
In braces after a character is their age, dynasty, and any important notes, if applicable.
If applicable, the player the character is claimed by will appear in another set of braces after the character.
Bold denotes a major character.
Italics denotes a character tracked in a different dynasty's tree. Marriages whose children are tracked in other dynasties are tied with a single line.
Grey denotes a deceased character.
