"I didn't call him dumb! I said they tried to make one that was less smarter than this one!" Mira defended, and held her plushie tighter. "And Mommy and Daddy made the dolly."
"Mira, you do not talk to guests like that!" I said.
"But she had a point before. Maybe Shadow had a few versions made, some with different intelligence and personalities. They were trying to make an ultimate life form, and for humans that means ultimate manipulability. You know what control freaks they are." Shadow said thoughtfully. "I mean, think about it. If one Shadow wouldn't mindlessly do whatever they wanted, they would make a new one."

I sighed heavily as I sat under the tree that marked the border to my territory. I realized that it had been a year since I last expanded my territory.
"Hey there, kitty." I heard a voice say behind me."I was wondering something. You see, since this drought started several watering holes are... well lets just say that now they are just holes."
"Gather the weak and hide them. I am expanding the territory again. And this time, I won't need any of your weak, useless help." I said, still not turning.
"Weak?!" He exclaimed, appalled."This from she who has no family because nobody in it was strong enough to take on a lion!"
I turned around and grabbed the weaker cheetah by the torn shirt he wore. I lifted him up so his tiny little face was so near mine a bee could not fly between.
"You listen here, moron! I have destroyed thousands of lions. I have killed five dozen of my own kind, seven of which were your clan. Did you forget?I have obliterated nearly half of the savanna. Your death would mean nothing but having more time to think! You really want to tempt me?" I growled.

"Maybe, or maybe not. Think about it, they had tons of projects on there and all the data was lost or kept confidential. Maybe they multiple tries of the same project did not cost as much as just giving up and making a new one. Nothing is concrete, no matter how long we sit here and contemplate about it." Shadow said, and stood up. "But things will be concrete if we go and find the answers. Our time will not be wasted, if we get off our seats. I feel like we're a team now, so this adventure should be made together. Two people who helped someone they knew did not remember them, two people who got along for the comfort of the same person. Two people like that should stick together, for there are too few of those people. And I? I am the person they teamed up to help, so naturally I, too, am part of this."
Mira walked out of the room. I was tempted to follow. A speech? That was something most sane people don't even do.
"Shadow... does your head hurt or have a big bump anywhere?" I asked, concerned.

goren nearly did a back flip out of his seet "good im game!, shadow you wanna get some answers?" he looked up at darktress "and what about you?"

"I guess I'm in if it will help you two. I care about you guys, so I wanna help all I can. I have one question, though... Can Mira come along?"
"Definitely!" Shadow agreed enthusiastically.
"I heard my name..." Mira said from our doorway. "Should I grab the lights or the heavies?"
"Both. This is gonna be a long adventure." I said. Mira cheered and ran off to grab my weapons. She also had a dagger and a chainsaw, but she didn't know how to use the chainsaw and the dagger's too short to do much.

"heheh this is gonna be fun" goren reached behind him and a light fomed he pulled his sword "i got my own weapon but shadow will get good use outta weapons"

An evil smile spread across Mira's face.
"I got just the thing!" She said, and dropped my weapons near me. "Be right back!"
I knew what she was getting. Our three matching machine guns. Hers was always for decoration since she was too small to use it. She came back with all three.
"Here you go!" She said sweetly, trying to hold them up to Shadow. He went wide-eyed.
"Thanks," He said, fumbling to grab all three at once. Luckily the had straps, so he lung one over his back, and held the other two in his hands.

"I think we need a plan before we just roam around shooting things, however fun that plan may be." Shadow said, smiling happily back at Goren. Mira, impulsive like that for some reason, suddenly hugged Goren then.
"You must be my uncle then! Uncle Goren!" She said, nuzzling her face into the leg she was hugging.

I smiled.
"Like the sound o' that, don't ya Uncle Goren?" I laughed. Mira smiled too.
"I have an idea for a plan." I said "First we find the biggest G.U.N. headquarters. We infiltrate it as quietly and easily as we can, and see what confidential files we can find. Once we have whatever information is available there, we let their cameras see us. We defeat everyone in that base, then go to the smallest one and do the same. After that, we use our Chaos Emeralds to go up to Ark, and hack the data there. We gather the data all together and try to put the pieces of the puzzle into the big picture."
"Sounds complicated," Shadow stated. "But it'll sure be an adventure."
Mira just sat there looking confused.

"im likeing but why go to the smallest i can easily hack the main one so i dont see why we need to go to both" goren said looking a bit confused himself

"Because they won't expect someone to hack the small base. Think about it, if they leave some data too easy to find or get to, people will think said data was not worh protecting and won't try to get it." I said.

He ran off, and I chuckled, he gets scared so easy since I killed his family. I didn't kill everyone in it, just seven out of two dozen disobedient cheetahs that weren't doing their part in my lands, but now they do as told most of the time for fear of me killing them next. I was about to do the same to a clan outside my territory-- only kill enough to terrify them into submitting. Then my lands would be bigger and my people would have their much needed summer water that was diminishing quickly in the hot sun since there had been no rain in almost a year. If only my clan were here to see this, bu they may not really like what I've done since it involves more killing than they would think I was capable of when they were killed.
I stood facing the wind and smiling. "East or west?" I murmered aloud. "East where I was born, or west where I was re-born? Or perhaps both? East, I think. Yes, east. Mother, Father, your graves to the east shall be your ground again, no matter the amount of blood spilt on it."
