"Indeed." A grin at Rennell as he messed up her hair once again. If it had been in it's normal headband, he wouldnt' be able to do that, but it was fine. She liked Rennell, he made her giggle.
"Ooh Jelly, a birthday present. Doesn't that make you happy inside? And don't say anything because even though you told us not to get you anything, you knew we would because we so love to upset and fluster you with love and affection."

A blink at James...and a panning look to Erik. Oh he had that guilty 'I'm in on it' look. Then one to Lillia as well as she mentioned what she was pretty uch thinkign and then added a reason why they didn't care what she really though. At least it was the endearing ignorance.
"Guys...really did you have to?" An accusing look at Erik. "And you know better Mr. Donner. You should get hit for your ignorance." But a little shrug and she offered the rest of them a smile. "I guess it does...but still..."

"Hey now. don't blame him, he owed me after I got is security straightened back out. The way there were acting was unacceptable in teh least. especially for a pseudo-military bunch. Half of them had crying fits and soiled themselves a few tiems during thier retraining. I mean all it was was some bombs, machingun fire, typical guerilla warfar enviroment stuff. though that one guy got caught on the barbwire. that wasn't pretty. looked like he'd been spanked by a bear."
Hmm. went off on a tangent didn't he.
"Well. since we'd had our drinks, next stop on the embarassment tour for Jelena Trevale is Echo labs."

Okay that got her suspicion jacked up and she squinted an eye at James in that accussing manner. "What...did you do...to my labs?" There were two things that you didn't play with when it came to Jelena Trevale. One was her labs, the other being her pillows...don't ask.
Erik chuckled lightly at that one. Oh she was paranoid and angry now but she wouldn't be for long. And a glance at his watch told him that everythign should be installed and all echo tranferring that needed to be donw was done. That whole damn place was all bright, shiney, and new.
Ren finished off his drink. "I won't crash the party. I hate fifth wheel syndrome. And I have an appoitment with Jessica in about a half hour. Had to reschedule the one I was supposed to have today...JEssica kind of went nuclear on some people and needed a time out."

Lillia looked at Rennell for a moment adn then at James and then just shook her head and said something low that sounded suspiciously like 'men.'
But she stood up and just because she could ruffled Rennel's hair then said, "So then, to the labs." And she had no idea what they'd done for Jelly's birthday though she had her own surprise for her favorite boss. She'd wait till later to give it to her though.

James got up, and looked at Rennell.
"I know about that. someone played with somethign they weren't cleared for. and we all know how jessica is with clearances on metamorph toys."
Then a grin at Jelena.
"Come and find out."
So he got up, leading them to Echo, and to teh labs Jelena oh so loved, and lstood by the enterance to her back labs and the echo enclosures.
"Lead the way, Jellybean."

"Oh...well that makes sense. When will everyone just learn not to touch things that they aren't cleared on...make life a whole lot easier for all of us." But a two fingered salute as they had gotten up, James leading them out. "See ya." He was quite content to sit there at the table...until Jessica had finished her babblings and dragged him off for his little check up.
Erik was just amused by all of this really. He thought it was funny how she was being all paranoid, yet undoubtedly when it sank in that she had new things that would quickly be forgotten. Yes he did just want to see the show and have something to tease about later.
Another suspicious look at both men as they made thier way to her back labs, stopping before the entrance door. "I swear I you all did something I have to hurt you for..." But back to the door which she PAID open, taking down the corridor. And she would walk down the entire hallway...glancing in rooms. And she showed no reaction...till she walked back up the hallway to the little group.
Where first it was a smile...then a laugh and one of those bounces girls did when they were overly excited...and James was promptly grabbed in a hug tight enough to probably even surprise him. "I have new stuff! Oh my god! Do you know how long I've been tryign to get all that upgraded?! It's all shiny and new and working and not duct taped!" Oh yeah, she was excited about it.

Lillia waved to Rennell and walked off after them, staying back a little bit. This was Jelly's surprise and obviously the boys were excited about it too. She just followed along and was quite surprised at how shiny and pretty it all was. So they'd upgraded her labs, good job for them.
A giggle at Jelly, "Happy Birthday Jelena." Then a smug look at James,
"She didn't squeal like a schoolgirl though, you lose James."

A hug back, and a smirk to Lillia.
"She hasn't seen everything yet."
And leading her over to her incubation computers and the tubes and the like everything repalced, redone, brand new state of the art. then turned on a computer, and it came to life instantly, latest update software and components. even talked, saying in an pleasent female voice 'greetings, Doctor'
James grinned.
"All data can be input directly into the MISSED system from here, which is intergrated to these systems, updated and the files all rescanned, checked and transferred. the enclosures not have Holosweet level graphical interaction, which means they are as real as it gets even to the animals short of actually being there."
A grin.
"And Tempest's cage and enclosure are touch enough that there's not spine throwing his way out. not that I don't think he'll find a new route, but the old method won't work anymore."

Rather than squeal she got that serene quietness about her, almost a drugged on laughing gas look to her. Oh yeah she was that happy about this all. Even the damned systems talked now! Whoo! That would make things so much easier...
Even her Echoes got new things! It was like a dream come true now wasn't it. And here she had herself believing that she didn't need to upgrade anything...oh how wrong she was. Work wouldn't be nearly as frustrating. Stress relief.
So a look at James, before hugging him again...rather than trying to squish him this time. "Thank you James." It was funny...he knew how she was about her work and indulged her in it as well. That was a rare thing.
"Told you she wouldn't...she words backwards, or sideways...or upsidedown if you prefer." A point to Lillia. "She's right, you lose."

And he gave Jelena a hug, back, rubbing her back some.
"You're most welcome, Jellybean."
A grin to her and a sweet, innocent little kiss, but the kind that was laced with 'I'm sure you'll show more appreciation' later. He, he was a guy after all.

"Yay! I'm right about something." And she shook her head. "But I have no use for a pistol, thanks anyway." Wow everything was all new and nice and shiny. It was pretty and it would be a lot easier to do the files adn things now.
It was a rather sweet moment between Jelly and James and Lillia felt like she'd wakled in on something she shouldn't have so she quietly slipped out and went back to her room. She had some things to think about anyway and there was a slight pall over this whole day for her. Something wasn't right about this Board thing.

Funny she picked up on the undertones of that kiss so easily, and a little smiel was given to him. Though her attention was drawn to Lilla a moment as the girl went off to do things. Hopefully not beat herself up about DJ or something. It really wasn't her fault.
"Keep it...I don't have any use for it. I'm not a collector and being up here so long I've compltely forgotten the value of money for antigues. I'll let you retain your gun and your glory." He really didn't care whether he won or lost anyway. He watched Lillia walk off then looked back to James and Jelena. "This would be the part where I give you two some privacy. Got Echoes to feed anyway." That said he walked off whistling.
A little laugh at Erik. "Try not to get snacked on." Then her attention returned to James and she traced the fingers of one hand over his little decoratice awardas and what not. "I'm sorry James...about yesterday. I can't help but loose it sometimes."

James gave her a smile, taking her hand and kissing it lightly.
"We all have our moments, do things and say things we eithe rdon't mean, or that someone else just doesn't understand, and it hurts them. So it's alright, I'm still here. And since I'm here, and Lillia has left, and Erik can handle the Echoes..hwo about me and you retire to one of our rooms for the evening. lets say mine for tonight."
So he took her hand, and led her to his room, where there was candlelight dinner. They had dinner, and then he gave her another gift, just between lovers, and one that it was absultly sure she would enjoy.
