I... don't think rice is evil... yet.
Gah, and so many people with the last name "Sol"... which is really Ephraim's last name 0.o... Oh well, one canst be picky.

Sol means Sun in Latin, obviously. And the Sun is the Earth's measure of time. Thus, the reason why Ephraim's last name be.

That would also explain why Sol's name is Sol. His element is fire.
