...And I just found out that this is a very common thing in most dual MPX boards. neutral Seems my main web server board (Intel SAI2) is an exception. Even temps all around.
Now to get some case fans for the system. whee
Edit: Even better. Any attempt to use the 'Blend' option (really stresses CPU and RAM) in Prime95 crashes the system in a few minutes at most. 'Small FFT' (doesn't stress the CPU too much, RAM is practically untouched) is fine, however. It must use a lot of +3.3V rail, apparently.
Edit 2: [2013-07-27, 16:07 EDT] Got the actual readings from Tyan System Monitor. The CPUs are actually 0-2 degrees Celsius away from each other. But... I changed the thermal paste from IC Diamond to Arctic Silver 5, and the temps rose. Now to use the PC for a few days to see the results. Also, the +5V rail is stressed, about 4.7V. Really gotta get another power supply. Then, the CPU temps may fall as well.
D: oh no that's not good. *hug* You're doing well though, keep it up.
Thanks! Now confirmed it is the power supply. Saw that +5V rail sag from 4.8V to 4.7V (while the +12V rail/s rose from 12.1V to 12.2V) when running Prime95, then the system froze. The CPUs were still fine, even at 60 degrees Celsius. Such a good performing power supply, but not for the power-hungry workstation. lol As long as I didn't tax it, it was fine. [Addendum: the power supply was actually warm as well after system stress-test. More proof that the system is power-hungry.]
Another subject: French toast. There was so much bread in the house so I made some. Now we have no more eggs as a result. xd
Edit: The workstation build now has an Antec TruePower Trio 650W power supply. Seems to be group-regulated, because even the +12V rails have sagged to 11.7V. +5V has been unchanged. Prime95 lasts somewhat longer, but the PSU gets warm, then the system freezes.
Edit 2: [2013/07/28, 11:11 PM] Clumsy me almost burned up CPU1 of the dual workstation build. Some Molex cable got caught between the fins of the CPU heatsink and it stopped the fan from running. There was a burning smell; though it was from the CPU, but it was from the fan motor. I now wonder what would've happened if I was still using the old Foxconn coolers...? I now call that CPU the miracle CPU, as it suffered no damage during that ordeal. Also, took one RAM stick on Slot 2 out, moved the one RAM stick from Slot 3 to Slot 2, and inserted one spare RAM stick in Slot 3. Slot 1 is still unused. Will probably never solve the main issue, but just in case.
Edit 3: [2013/07/28, 11:34 PM] As much as it really annoyed me to do so, I finally removed the second CPU from the workstation build. stare If I wanted that, I would've started using the Abit KD7 instead. +5V rail is less stressed now. Should downgrade to 2GB? Who knows. Though earlier, since I misplaced my IC Diamond 7 thermal paste, I had to use my Noctua thermal paste on miracle CPU1. Pretty good thermal results. Even with CPU2 removed, system still freezes. Possible physical issue with this board as well.
Edit 4: [2013/07/29, 5:06 PM] Hope this doesnt happen to me. Gotta check every connector on the system again. Also, this should've been designed with the 24-pin setup rather than the 20-pin setup; there's an extra +5V line there.

*heavy sigh*
Ladies and germs... Sissy Blade is sick of this s**t. This is no longer funny.
I'll just sum it up:
-Pookie goes to work. -Pookie has a cousin who was staying with him for the weekend. -Pookie's moron bro is taken into the apartment by his mom. *sighs* Again. Because he's her son, don't 'cha know. -Now, Pookie locks his door before he goes to work IN CASE HE COMES BACK. -His cousin catches him [the brother] IN. HIS. ROOM. Yes, he did a Manic the Hedgehog AND PICKED THE LOCK. She freaks out and demands an answer. It's... "I was looking for my DVD." (Some answer.) -Pookie calls me, and the first thing I hear from him... ABSOLUTE RAEG. Which is justifiable; I mean... he's currently looking through his stuff AND NOTICING THAT THINGS ARE MISSING!
So, yeah. Moron bro got thrown out. I'm just trying to calm Mr. Boyfriend down at the moment. I mean, sure, he has every right to be angry, but he needs to go about this whole thing with a clear head.
Gonna have to find a way to cheer him up later, too.

This is getting really sad he needs to sit his mom down and convince her to stop letting him back in, someone must stand up and put there foot down and deal with this.

Yeah, he's been saying that over and over to her. The whole point of their move was to get away from him.
His mom kept saying "This is the last straw!" over and over, but another friend and I just say... "How long before she lets him back in?"
It's like Chibi said before; he's her son. She doesn't want to see him suffer (But obviously, Mr. Boyfriend isn't having none of the pity crap). But I hate to say, common sense means that he should stay out. If he's going to do nothing but backstab and steal, why even bother?

Indeed I don't know it its possible for him, but maybe he needs to think about moving into a place of his own where he can keep the idiot brother out, But that would leave his mom alone with idiot brother and maybe he couldn't do that to her.

This board (Tyan Tiger MPX S2466N-4M) will need at least 32 Amps on the +5V rail. I knew the board was power-hungry, but wow. That will total 154 Watts for two CPUs due to the way this board is designed.
Only some very large capacity modern power supplies (around 800W+) have over 30 Amps on the +5V rail, so we would have to go back quite a few years... to around 2005.
This key point is not mentioned in my motherboard's manual (only that you need at least a 300W power supply, fail), but is mentioned in an earlier board's manual (specifically the notorious Tyan Tiger MP S2460):
"One 20-pin power connector (requires 30A on +5V line)"
Already found one, though. That ends the power supply search.
Tyan Tiger MP S2460 info...
Does remind me. The Tyan Tiger MP S2460 has a serious design flaw that literally burned and melted the ATX power connector, most obviously around the +5V pins (red wires) due to power being overdrawn on +5V. Mainly because it lacked a P4 (ATX12V) connector. The board had to be modded with the original power supply +5V wires soldered onto the bottom of the board. Seriously: Here. A lot less messy alternative was soldering a Molex pinout connector on the bottom of the board. But Tyan fixed the issue with the ATX connector in mid-2003. Therefore, the S2466 does not have this issue. Something told me not to get that MP board, and I never regretted that.
Edit... 30A on +5V rail requirement mentioned in the FAQ page of my S2466N-4M mainboard. Odd, I read that page before, but entirely forgot about it. sweatdrop
Yeah it got buggy for some (though was fine to me), so they moved to 5 Barton 2012 in original Towns 1. xp

Everybody went poof from Towns 2.

Well gee I didn't think that's where they were going. I thought it was all talk and was sitting there in the hot springs for a long time before I closed the window because it was time for dinner. Would have been nice if the person I was chatting with off Gaia had shot me a note about that but it's no biggie.
