Shera released her father and nodded. "Yes father." She said with an innocent smile. "And this is why Shinn and I should be hunting partners! I can distract and disable, he can take down!" Shera joined in Shinn's howl. They had claimed victory.
Miluiel laughed to herself. She approached her family and lay down before Azrael. She licked his face gently. "Poor papa." She said to him. "He's been taken down too many times today." She reached forward with her paw and rubbed his head. "How are you doing dearest?" She asked knowing he hadn't had anything to eat yet that day, and she hadn't either.

"You work well as a team, my little ones." Azrael said with a chuckle. Shinn had gotten off of him and was now sitting next to his sister, tongue hanging out patiently. Azrael smiled and rolled onto his belly. "I am very hungry, my love. We should get hunting. The forest is awake." He said to his wife after a few sniffs.

Miluiel had taken a seat beside Azrael and with her paw she began to scratch his back gently. She nodded, "We should get to hunting. I'd hate for our leader to pass out because he had nothing in his belly." She glanced at the kids. She wondered if Azrael had intended on taking them along or taking them back home so the two of them could hunt for a meal.

Azrael stood up and smiled brightly. He looked at his children pleasantly. "Come along you two. Mazzia and Veral surely have prepared something at home, you have your lessons today and I'm sure they are anxious to see you." He told them. Azrael turned to Miluiel for a moment and gave a wolf wink, signaling that they would be hunting after they dropped the cubs off at home.

Miluiel grinned and stood up. "Alright children, you heard you father. Let us get you back home. We don't want you late for your lessons." Miluiel became excited. She and Azrael didn't have much time to themselves anymore, she loved her children dearly, but occasionally it was nice to get away.
Shera groaned, "But I really don't want to go! I want to play longer!" She complained loudly. "Please let me stay with you mama, papa!"

Azrael sighed and knelt down to be at level with his daughter, at least as close to level as he could get. "Now listen. I know that you want to play more, but we can't always play. There are times when we have to do things that aren't as fun." He explained to her giving her a nuzzle. "But Mazzia and Veral love you, and though you may have to sit through lessons, whose to say that they might make it fun? No one really knows what the future holds, my sweetling." He said to Shera, giving her a lick on the cheek before standing up again. "Come on, let's go."

Shera pouted up until her father licked her. That seemed to bring her back to life. "But papa!" Shera complained, "I love them too, but I want to stay with you and mom!" She whimpered loudly.
"Shera." Miluiel barked, "Darling, You need to understand that there are times we can't all be together, and you need your lessons. We can play more later. But if we are going to play then you need to be a good girl, or you're going to bed right after lessons." Miluiel hated playing that part, but baby girl or not she needed to know what was okay and what wasn't.

Azrael stood up and looked back at his family. "Come on. No point making this longer than it needs to." He said as he started off toward the house. Shinn stayed behind with Shera so she might feel a little better.

Miluiel walked up to Azrael with her head bowed. She felt so awful for barking at her pup, but it had to be that way. Someone had to keep him in line.
Shera followed along silently until she decided to talk to Shinn. "Shinn," She whispered, "Why don't they ever yell at you?" She asked softly. "It's no fair, you don't get in trouble."

"I do get in trouble." Shinn whispered to his sister. "Remember when I got into that fight, and broke that thingy in the spirit lounge?" He said to jog her memory. "Mazzia and all the healers yelled at me, and then Shana got mad that I was fighting, and then papa got back and yelled at me for two hours after dragging me back to the house. I don't know how you forgot, I thought everyone in the village heard them yelling at me." He said, reliving the embarrassment and shame he had felt. "And then mom and papa kept me inside for two weeks, and didn't let me go to the feast on Winternight*, while you all got to go." He told her quietly.
Azrael nuzzled Miluiel gently, silently conveying the message, "It had to be done."
((*Winternight is a celebration of the winter solstice practiced by the Garoh tribe.))

Miluiel nodded, "Next time though dear, it will be your turn." Miluiel said with a slight chuckle.
Shera watched Shinn as he rambled off what he had gotten in trouble for. It was truly a surprise to hear the list of things he could tell her. Thinking about it now it was true, he had been in trouble those times. It made her feel slightly better knowing that. "I see. Well that's good. Not really good, but I'm glad I don't only get in trouble."

Azrael smiled and nearly sighed. "Yes, yes. You know that I'll take care of it." He replied.
"Nobody's perfect. That's what papa says, and auntie Shana says it too." Shinn said to his little sister, his silver fur brushing against her black fur. "And lessons aren't that bad, Auntie Mazzia and Uncle Veral make it fun!" He said to her.

Nuzzling him gently she barked softly. "I love you dearest." She said softly. "It shall be very nice to get out alone." She thought again about how much she loved him, and how much she loved her children. It was nice though, to get some alone time for mom and dad.
Shera barked happily. "Will you stay with me Shinn? Will we be learning together so you can make it fun too." She wiggled slightly.

Shinn nodded. "Veral won't mind if I do my lessons with you! He's always telling me that we could try something new! And auntie Mazzia probably won't mind either!" He added happily.
Azrael made a pleasant sound. "It most certainly will." He said to Miluiel. He himself though on how much he loved his wife and children.

Shera nodded in agreement with Shinn. "I do hope so!" She howled happily. "It would be so much more fun if you would train with me!"
The town was now in sight. Miluiel could see their home. She smiled. So much had changed since she had met Azrael. The years that had passed since then were really a blessing. She had a family now with an amazing man. She nuzzled him gently, still very much in love with him. "What would you like to go after?" Miluiel asked him softly.
