He kept saying that, and it made me wonder exactly how many times that was.
"I know, but it is not as if I can choose whether or not I know about my life. You have been a great help to me, and I am sorry I angered you, brother." Shadow apologized gracefully. He wasn't like the other Shadows. He was... different.

"How do you mean?" Shadow asked, not helping his position. He seemed more like some fancy billionare than a Shadow. "As far as I can tell, my brother, this is the way I have behaved my whole life. Am I not correct? Technically, you told me about the life of another Shadow, but I am clone which means I may have a seperate past that caused me to have a differing personality than that of the one you knew. So sorry if this thought as well angers you as the other thoughts on my past have."

"Did I do something the other Shadow wouldn't do?" Shadow asked, confused as well. Then I remembered what I had sworn to myself when my Shadow died; when another Shadow came I would give him the two Chaos Emeralds I had buried in Shadow's memory. I jumped down from the tree and went straight to where I had buried the Emeralds. I dug them up and used Chaos control to go to my house, appearing in my bedroom. I stepped out holding the Emeralds, hoping they didn't notice I had used Chaos control. My Chao, Mira, started whining, so I fed her and let her out of her cage. She hugged me tight, holding on to my leg as I walked out to give Shadow the emeralds.

"I told ya I had two Chaos Emeralds." I said, hoping he wasn't shocked about me using Chaos Control. I walked over to Shadow, and held out the emeralds to him. As I did so, Mira jumped off my leg and flew toward Shadow.
"DADDY DADDY!!!" She said cutely. Though looking shocked and confused, Shadow held out his arms to catch Mira.
"Mira! Bad!" I shouted. Thats right when she hugged Shadow extra tight, and Shadow akwardly put his arms around her. He looked freaked out. She looked at me pitifully, in a way hat nearly brought tears to my eyes and said,"But its Daddy!"
"Hes not Daddy, remember Daddy left." I said.
"Daddy came back!" She said hopefully, now looking up at Shadow.

"He is not Daddy, Mira! Now get off him before I put you in time-out!" I scolded. Then I looked up from Mira and saw Shadow. He was smiling. Mira got off, looking sad. I pointed to my room, where her cage was. "Back into the room, Mira. You've been a bad girl!"
"Bye, Daddy!" She said sadly, then slumped back to our room. When she was out of the room, Shadow looked at me. He looked a little unhappy, and had a bit of a fake pout.
"What'd you do that for? I didn't mind." He said. My eyes went wide. What the hell happened to this Shadow before coming here?!

"Brother? Is something wrong?" Shadow asked.
"You aren't acting like Shadow is all," I said.
"I thought I was Shadow..." He said, looking confused."Why would different clones behave differently if we have no pasts?"
I looked at Goren, who was the closest thing to expert on this subeject. "Any ideas? Have you ever encountered clones that behaved different than one another?"

"That is an excellent question. Maybe rather than a clone, I am a re-try of the original, apparently failed, experiment." He said. "Or perhaps, though I have emotions and such, my brain is programmable and its programming was edited."
"The second is not very likely, but it is possible. And the first just makes too much sense." I said.
"Mommy?" Mira appeared in the doorway holding her Shadow plushie. "What if he is the original? I mean, maybe he was too smart for them to ma-manny--"
"Manipulate?" I suggested.
"Yeah, that! So they made one that was less smarter so they could tell it what to do." Mira said.
