Yup! ^^ I'm so glad you're as bad as me about this.
That was what I originally planned. I also figured it could be an ex who either dumped him or died or possibly a dead older brother. Or twin, though that's pretty creepy. *makes scary noises*
By the way, evil Kaito is so fun. Time for Jack to shoot his mouth off a little.

You know, i love when characters develop themselves. Didn't intend for Dom to be quite so open and almost bubbly...but he's turning out that way isn't he?

Lulz. Ex it is then. I liked the idea of making Kaito jealous but I was afraid I was pushing it. Probably Jack's first boyfriend, helped him come out to his family, etc. Just have to decide what broke it off.
I like it him. And I think the childishness lowers Nick's guard too.

Yeah, Kaito would definatly be jealous and plotting to get him a better one. Hmmm...maybe they just didn't end up working? Or you could have him have decided to go somewhere else to keep leaning? Like a special school? Or he could have died...

Nick was supposed to be a little less nice, Jack was supposed to last longer when it came to playing with Kaito's head, Elias was supposed to be darker... they never do what you want.
I kind of like the idea that the guy was acting weird for a couple of days and then vanished and Jack didn't know why. For a while holding onto the lighter was hope the guy would come back. Then it was a reminder that getting that close to people sucks and trusting them is a fool's game. Then it just sort of became a keepsake and a habit.
That way he can come back if we ever run out of drama. (like that's possible).
