"Oh posh, I --- hold a second...hmm... that's an almost unhealthy development : I didn't even know "posh" was in my vocabulary...this shall require further investigation.
Anyhow, I shall be at the assembly later, as a random awkward looking alchemist running about might cause alarm in the ranks, therefore they shall at least know I'm there, but I'll be discreet, suddle...er...subtle in my actions and, as much as it pains me, brief in my words if any at all, for it is sometimes, though rather oddly said that 'small in height is sugar to the taste buds' though it is more commonly said I believe, 'short is sweet', but look here, is this Thanatos I see before me striding through the morning daze with unnatural briskness in his step and darkness on his shoulders? How are you Thanatos on this fine morning which brings to us the reminder of odd events and odder happenings which may be yet to come, hidden on the fields of battle?"
He pauses when he finds Thanatos and stands with a morning greeting still smiling in his eyes as he waits for an answer.

Thanatos waits ten seconds to make sure that the ratboy is done speaking before he goes on to say "Ah I see that you have encountered each other, is everything set? By everything I of course mean, is everyone going to the meeting, do you Eira know what words you will use to stir the hearts of our soldiers and have them believe that they will be regarded as heroes. Im mean, I for one would prefer it if our solders are willing to die, because, you know if they run from battle at the first threat of eviseration, than the battle will be lost. And im good my friend from the rodent family, how are you on this most delightful mourning?"

Eira answers, her mind seeming somewhat preoccupied, likely with that which she was just asked about. "oh, uh, yes. I have been thinking about what to say. I'll do what I can to rally to troops. After all as you said, the must be willing to fight to the end if need be, but I hope that between the three of us we can make use of our battlefield and abilities in such a way, that a minimal number of these men will have to do give there lives.

"Well, if that is all, I believe I will be going on a quest to find myself some food. Good day, and may many blessings follow you until we meet again." Thanatos says as he turns and searches for food.

Sursqueek notes the spelling of "mourning" in Thanatos's voice.
"Well if that's the case why don't you come with us as we thought it might be a good idea to cover some of the ideas we had for battle over breakfast, particularly some of the more loud details, and also perhaps create private attack forces trained for specialized combat, from what i have read a vast majority of the more successful armies have them, like the ancient Ambergerians and their legendary Broth Brigidiers. It was said that they could fling boiling soup up to a mile and the taste was soooo great that the opposing army simply fell to their knees shouting in sad tones of their unworthieness.
Of course I have found that history often exaggerates such accounts, usually resulting in the death and or maiming of the generals or leaders that attempt to repeat past events in the same glorious manner...sad really that history will only repeat itself when it feels like it, and usually at the worst times, like when I would always walk into my cellar and trip on the third step down, but never would I learn to watch where I would walk...So how about that breakfast ?"

You find a cafeteria style building, perhapse not gormet, but a good find for large quantities of decent food. Judging by the color, perhapse more should be budgeted for rations, a line snakes out the door, comprised of only about fifteen people. No eating accomidations to sit and eat exist here.

Thanatos walks to the back of the line and waits for his turn to come. When his turn to sample the delightful dishes comes he selects a few of the most appetizing courses and walks out of the mess tent, searching for a place to sit and discuss the army and there command.

Sursqueek also waits patiently in line and selects some of the more repulsive looking dishes and follows Thanatos.

A few papers are piled infront of you by various individuals who flee shortly aftr. They detail current reports of enemy movements and current rations/supplies/troops and how disgusting/well stocked/odd looking they are.

"Numbers and such were never my strong suit" says Thanatos with a wink, "but you my good fellow seem that you have the education, and intelligence to do these things in a jify, whhile minus the troop movements, i guess i could do those, but the paper work, I can sense that you will be on top of that in a matter of minutes" and with that Thanatos takes all the sheets but the ones about troop movements and gives them to his good fellow Sykle.

Sursqueek clears his throat and begins to speak.
"Ahh, well it seems we have two options when it comes to this paperwork, we could set out to do it immediately, or we could meet again later and talk about it some more, of course even if we do complete it, the mail system is sooo unreliable lately...but I shall take a look at it anyhow and decide what to do with it then, but for now we should decide what to do for this introduction today. Eira and I were discussing some options including dividing the troops into two or three units based on skill, Eira commanding the main Unit, for open battles, and larger skirmishes, you would command the medic and moral support Unit for black-ops, espionage and information control, and my Unit will work with various...specialized armaments for which to arm our troops with in addition to their normal equipment, the best option in my opinion is to engage them in a series of aptitude tests to determine where they would best be placed, perhaps starting with a basic written and physical exam and then moving on from there to sort them into groups, however this is risky as your Unit, Thanatos, would have special access only information that could cause problems if it was released to the general soldiers, because as it is said by my great uncle's brother's cousin's, father's sister's daughter's half-brother's uncle used to say, 'vocal organs not properly tuned can ruin the buoyancy of a floating vessel,' though it is sometimes said *cough* 'loose lips sink floating vessels'...But what are your thoughts on this?"
As he finishes he motions to Eira and Thanatos for a response.

((If we implement said tests, in metagame the result would, at the dm's permission of course, be in the number of soldiers of balanced ability scores, "tank" ability scores, "stealthy" ability scores, and "nerdy" ability scores, or whatever other classifications that would be easy for the dm to sort into, and useful to our cause))

"I agree, most certainly we need to divide the units into groups, however the main army should be much larger, information, and espionage is good, but I have men that should be arriving anytime now (the letter i had the king send at the beginning of the campaign was telling my men to go here). Furthermore, why may I ask would we need espionage medics, would they be sneaking into the elven base and pose as medics, and then poison people? If so I would assume that to be a joint opperation between me and you. Ahh yes one more point, I do believe that my group will have to have some secrecy even from you, my comrades, but do not fear, I will never keep anything crucal or important to the battles, for as my good friend Sun Tzu says that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will win a hundred times in a hundred battles. If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you win one and lose the next. If you do not know yourself or your enemy, you will always lose." Thanatos says leaving little room for interruption in his oration.

Sursqueek nods and looks at Eira awaiting a response from her as well.

The world imlodes. Fortunately this was merely in an alternate reality, not any one that has to do with this one. No one takes note.
