Nyx:Irene does not respond. You cannot hear her screaming. Leina:Each of them begins to walk toward you, their blades defensively positioned. Hiroto:You come out of the shadows of the building's second floor and look down: the four goons are doing their job: killing "Outsiders," as they call people like you and the girl. But this one...this is one of the last ones to enter the game. Like you. You have two options: let the goons kill her, or aid her. Do you jump? Or walk away without a second thought? Branwen:Running...pausing...flying...walking...resting...don't march. Never march. City. Walls. People. You fly over the wall, waiting to see others like you. But your arrival merits you little more than grief: the banner yet waves of new colors, the streets are lined with corpses, the city reeks of Death's chilling breath. As you fly above the city, you can hear a group chanting on top of the church: "Hei hai mi nai ha. Hei hai mi nai ha! HEI HAI MI NAI HA!" That same chant from before. Why must it haunt you so? Has it not already taken everything you have held dear?!

"Irene?" I start to get a little worried and I race down the stairs faster until I hit the bottom and look around.

"******** fantastic..." I mutter as I back up again slightly, hoping a crazy plan that would work this time would magically pop into my head. Really hoping my back doesn't hit a wall...

Nyx: Irene does not respond to you. When you get down the stairs, you find the guy you kicked around earlier carrying a heavy-looking sword. There are no signs of use on the blade. Irene is not in the forge room with him.
Leina: Nothing comes to you...you're going back along the street, so you won't hit a wall until you hit the edge of the city. Which is a good ten blocks back...

I am worried to the point that I continue speaking in Qorchi without realizing it. "You! Did you see a young anthro cat girl run down here? Oh forget it!" I jog passed him and into the front room.

My breath is staccato as I look around for life of some sort...something that might be of refuge, but to no avail. Before I give up, I urge my wings to take me to the sky right above the church and I soar on them, circling the building and hoping to spot someone.

"Yes, I think she passed by here." Mazurn said as he looked around. "Did you see any shopkeeper back there, or was the cat the shopkeeper?"

I look down curiously at the young anthro cat and kneel down in a Japanese style so that I don't look so tall and imposing. "Well this is unexpected..." I say. "You don't need to be afraid. I won't hurt you. Who are you running from?"

Nyx: In the main shop, you find Irene on the ground in front of the faceless mage.
Branwen: On top of the church are about ten mages all wearing red robes with the gold raven on the backs.
Willow: The mages seem to be chanting something. One of the swordsmen is asking the priest for something, but the priest is simply babbling on about something. It almost sounds like he's reciting scripture from the Universal Religion. "Give it over, old man," the swordsman says. "—and thus it came to be that the human gods were cast from heaven forevermore," the priest recites. "Where's the damn Outsiders?!" "However, this angered the human god. He tooketh hold of his mighty sword and began to slay his people, until the night when—" His head rolls. His voice fades, the lips still moving slightly even as it approaches the door behind which you stand. "Find the Outsiders!" the swordsman calls.
Layla: You can see through the crack in the door just enough to see the priest's head roll. Suddenly, your character's mind kicks in: she is angry that these people would dare to kill a priest, especially when reciting from "One Million by One," the chapter about Sylane's rise to divinity.
Mazurn: Nyx was speaking in Qorchi, the language of the cat-peoples. You have no idea what she said.
Apollo: "The man with the sword!" the young cat replies.

Enter battle music!!!I feel myself filled with a strange, iron resolve to avenge this priest. It felt as if this new surge of zeal was almost... borrowed... from somewhere, no, some one else. I channeled this will into a blessing to raise both mine and Willow's armor. What is happening to me? I pondered, if only for a brief second, before deciding to let whatever this new source of courage and sacred fury wash over me; the gods knew I needed it to pull this one off...

"The man with the sword?" I say in confusion to Irene, assuming she meant Mazurn. "Well, don't worry, i shall protect you from him." I add on reassuringly.

Hiroto Gaiuchuu stepped over to the edge and stared down at the poor girl who was being attacked by the Red Army. He could only help but don a smile as he followed along the length of the rooftop, keeping her right under him. His black and red eyes looking over her, he wondered what to do. He could help her, it wouldn't be much of a problem, but still he didn't do anything, so he just followed along the rooftop, until he could go no further.

Layla & Willow: Your armor is boosted by a fair amount, but you still have a high probability of serious injury if this goes wrong.
Apollo: "Thank you..." she mutters. She stands up and looks toward the forge, where you see the tora-mimi coming toward you, a worried look on her face.
Hiroto: Suddenly, your character's mind kicks in: you need to save her. She could turn out to be invaluable later on.
