I called them Friday requesting an extension to my leave of absence. I physically can't work right now; every time I've tried, I end up leaving early because I just feel like crap all the time. When I called, I spoke with a receptionist and asked her to leave a message for my doctor. I requested to leave;
Requesting extension to leave of absence, I've had to call off the past two days. Until you figure out what's going on and get me properly medicated, there's no way I can function at my job.
(Not in those exact words, but close enough.) So she says OK, and that they'll get back to me. Friday comes and goes, I hear nothing back. I called back Monday morning, get the same woman, and she reads the doctors response- that "she can have it for the weekend."
So my natural response was, 'what?' She read her original note that she left- it went something like this;
She needs a doctors excuse for the last two days.
So I was trying to figure out where that came from and then specified AGAIN that I needed an extension to my leave, so she starts rambling BS that my doctor wanted me to go back to work Monday. When I tried to slow her down, she said 'hold on' and transferred me to a line that wasn't being monitored, so it just went to voice mail.
So I called back and got someone different, who said I had to call back later to get someone specific. So I say OK, wait, and call back after the designated time- get the second chick, who transferred me back to the first chick, who just said she would leave another note and have someone call me back.
I got a call around eleven from someone basically just asking why I was requesting more time off, explained, they said they would call back and hung up. Never heard back for the rest of the day. So now I need to be up extremely early to start the process over again... And in the meantime, while they're making their notes and not calling me back, I have to keep calling off from work. Which is accumulating occurrences. Which will, eventually, get me fired.
Words can not describe how screwed I'll be if I lose my job. If I lose my job, I lose my insurance- so no more possibility of going to the doctor to try and get this fixed. I already have problems getting interviews, so if I get fired for attendance, my chances of getting another job to pay my bills anywhere in the near future diminish to zero.
Sorry for the rant... I'm just frustrated beyond all reason, and I'm not getting anywhere. At all. Every test they've sent me for has come back abnormal, but it's not their problem, so why should they care? As long as they get paid, right? My doctor doesn't know what's going on, the neurologist she sent me to was a TOTAL flake, and the receptionists are jacking up my notes and making the entire process take far longer than it needs to.
