Babs noticed the attention she was receiving and turned toward Russell, "Can I help you?"
Russell smiled, "Sorry. I was wondering..." He motions toward the wheelchair, "What happened?"
Barbara arches an eyebrow, "Not that it's any of your business, I was... shot."
Russell's eyebrows shot up, "Wow. I'm actually sorry to hear that. Why?"
"It was... a home invasion. The bullet hit my spine... I don't normally talk about this."
Russell nodded, "That's understandable. It's frightening to see how rampant and wide-spread crime is nowdays."
Nowdays?Russell Brewer glanced at the stack of books Barbara had, "Oh. That explains why I could find the book on String Theory."
Barbara looks at him quizzically, "Your work links quantum physics with computing?"
Russell smirks, "You don't miss much. And... Not in a direct fashion, no...,"
If I'm not careful, this woman might be able to figure out what I'm up to. "Actually, part of what I'm doing would be the other way around."
Barbara responded, "As in using a computer model to say accurately predict how strings work?"
"Yes."
Babs narrowed her gaze, "They've already have done that."
Russell's smile expanded, "Exactly. I prefer working on this myself. It's far easier for me to visualize and test the theory. I prefer to personally work on things, so that I get a better feel for it rather than simply regurgitating information."
Babs smiled, "So, you're a hand-on kind of guy?"
Russell answered, "Yes, exactly."
Both heard a "Shhhh!" come at them from the side.
