"Chocolate chip huh? Well I do love chocolate, so that sounds mighty fine to me." Juno hadn't been expecting that laugh, but boy was it a treat, it even had her sounding like a fool. "Mighty fine." Who said things like that? Juno shook her head. She could see Sloane making a great wife though. Maybe not a housewife, but still a good wife nonetheless.

When they reached her room, she was honestly not as disappointed as she thought she would be to be calling an end to this fantastic day. But honestly, it felt so complete that she was willing to put a cap on it. "Yea," Juno agreed easily. "I can't wait to see you tomorrow." She was honest, she was really excited about seeing Sloane more, for days, weeks, months and even years to come. The girl was interesting and had a charm that Juno felt she'd never tire of. There was a timid smile on Juno's face one that fit her features almost perfectly, because it had been molded to her face for years. She took Sloane's hands within her own, and leaned forward a bit, dipping her head so she could match Sloane's height before pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. She knew that they weren't exactly in private, and didn't want to risk anything just yet. "Thank you for everything today." Juno whispered, before unlocking her door, she smiled and gave a little wave before she slipped inside and closed it behind her.

She was leaning against the door almost instantly, releasing a heavy sigh. Her heart felt like it was beating out of control, and her cheeks were burning, she honestly just wanted to dive into her bed and scream at the top of her lungs, shouting out her excitement, her happiness. She couldn't believe it, it just felt so amazing, and as a matter of fact, she felt she deserved it, she'd really asserted herself today, that deserved a reward right?

Juno looked to her bed, and her smile faded....

She sometimes hung scrapped work above her bed, in case she ever saw it and felt moved to finish it, or so that she could learn from her mistakes that caused her to abandon a piece. But something was different, frighteningly different.

Someone had been in her room....

Across her wall of posted papers was written a message in paint, paint that had ran down the walls, in a brilliant red. Bold words spelled out a very clear warning to her.

"YOU'VE BEEN WARNED."

Juno barely got an hour of sleep that night.

Sloane, meanwhile, slept like a baby. Her evening with Juno had left her excited and pleasantly satisfied, and she didn't allow herself fret over how badly everything could turn out. If something was going to happen, it would happen, and she would deal with it then. But until that moment, she would enjoy what she and Juno shared, and she would look forward to where their relationship could go.

The next afternoon, after a brief meeting with the Hostess Club, Sloane went to Juno's dorm. There was a club event tonight, just a normal visiting hour for students and fans, but even though they would be having dinner later, she wanted to stop by Juno's room and say hello. She was just about to knock on the door when another girl stepped out of the neighboring room and gave Sloane a pitying look. "Good, I'm glad someone's coming to check on her," she said. "I don't think she's been out much. I know because I haven't, either, 'cuz I'm sick." Sloane quirked an eyebrow and watched the girl leave, then knocked on Juno's door.

"Hey, Juno, it's me," she said, smiling a little.

Juno normally wasn't a morning person, even when she got a full night of sleep, so running off of mere winks wasn't doing her any good at all. She was shuffling about like a zombie, as she ripped down all of her ruined sketches and tossed them lazily into the trash bin in her room, successfully filling it in one dumping.

The rest of her morning was just as unmotivated. First she had fallen asleep on the toilet, and then she had nearly fallen asleep while standing in the shower. The brief moment of intense fear as she realized she was falling and all that went through her mind was "Oh lord they're gonna find me naked!" That scare out of the way she found herself face first into her pillow. blacking out again, this incredible warmth overtaking her, she couldn't believe how good it felt. So peaceful, so warm, so....

*knock knock knock*

"Hey, Juno, it's me,"

Juno moaned loudly into her pillow, she wanted to sleep so bad, but she wanted to see Sloane as well.... sleep....Sloane..... "******** cursed uncharacteristically and pushed herself onto her knees before slowly crawling off of the bed, and trudging to her door, unlocking it and pushing it open. She saw Sloane there and admittedly it brightened her mood, but it did little to wake her up, as the large yawn that escaped her was sure to betray. "Good morning." Juno managed, her hand still covering her mouth. "You're here early."

What time was it even?

"I know we're not supposed to hang out until dinner, but I wanted to see you," she said. She gave Juno a once-over and chuckled. "I didn't think I kept you out that late," she teased. "But I can come back later, if you want."

"No no!" Juno said easily, Sloane was here now and she wouldn't have her leaving any time soon, she was sure that she could just shake it off, it was a little bit of fatigue, Juno had stayed up for nearly 24 hours once working on some work that was rapidly reaching deadline, this was nothing. Nothing at all. "Come in." Juno said holding the door open and stepping back so that Sloane could come in.

Juno winced a bit at the mess, despite the wall that had been ruined, there was still art plastered just about everywhere else, as well as supplies, on just about every surface. The corner that she worked out of was marked by her desk and her easel, the floor was littered with papers, dried paint work that she hadn't moved, or just scrapped work yet again. "Excuse the mess, guess I should probably clean this place up a bit."

Walking into the room and looking around, Sloane smiled and shook her head, excusing Juno's apology. "I like it. So this is what the artist's den looks like..." she mused, chuckling. There was pain on the walls, like it had dripped from something--red, thick, matte. Sloane, curious, walked over to it and ran her fingers along the drip. "Get a little overexcited?" she joked, glancing over at Juno. As she turned to look at her girlfriend, the trash bin caught her eye. It was practically overflowing with papers--with... sketches? Frowning slightly, Sloane walked over to the bin and began to pick up one of the crumpled balls. "What are these doing in here?"

Juno wondered if Sloane really liked the clutter of if perhaps she was just saying that to be nice. She was sure she would never know, but upon a quick inspection Juno found that the chaos of her room, could at the very least reflect well on her determination as an artist, there was very little if any items laying around that could actually be considered trash, all of it looked work related at the very least.

Juno sighed, feeling maybe even just a little bit proud of her room as she slumped down and sat on her bed, she looked over to Sloane and felt a bit out of her element again, Sloane dressed herself well, and although Juno had showered, she was wearing baggy shorts and an over sized t shirt, clearly intending to have just lounged around all day. She'd have to make sure she was always prepared for surprise visits from Sloane, because she actually felt kind of awkward.....

Juno blinked, she had almost nodded off completely, and she had almost completely missed what Sloane had said to her, but seeing her touching the pain on the wall was enough to give Juno enough of an idea, it also made Juno a little nervous. She was afraid of what Sloane's reaction would be if she knew the truth. "Something like that, I had hung a few pieces up to get a few drops of paint running down the page, but I sorta dozed off and forgot about them." Juno said with a little laugh, trying to play it off as a klutzy mistake instead of the death threat it was. What was even worse was Sloane noticing the sketches that she had just dumped. What were they? she asked. "Mistakes." Juno said softly. She could tell that this wasn't going to end well.

Sloane was only half-listening to Juno as she finally completely unraveled the first drawing. What she found wasn't just a sketch with some splattered red paint, but rather a large, glaring letter in bloody red, painted crudely and thick. Maybe, if she had felt like Juno was telling the truth, she would have stopped here. But Juno seemed... anxious? Something was wrong. There was something Juno wasn't telling her. Slowly, Sloane picked up another discarded sketch and found another letter, and when she opened up a third, more quickly this time, she found yet another. Six drawings later, and a message began to ******** style="color: #d0463a">"Juno, what is this?" she asked with a deep frown, looking at Juno. But she knew, didn't she. Sloane knew what this was, but she didn't want to admit it to herself. It meant she hadn't made good on her promise to Juno.

What was it?

Juno swallowed heavily and looked down not able to meet Sloane's gaze, her sights instead landing on the spread of papers that Sloane had put together there wasn't really anyway she could try and cover up what was in front of her. She couldn't even try and play it off as some artistic project, paint was too fresh and the memories were brand new. Juno was also a horrid liar. She wouldn't be able to full Sloane.

"Yesterday when we were on our date..... Someone must of gotten into my room." Juno said softly, it still frightened her. The thought of someone being in her room without her knowing it. The thought of someone just being able to get into her room whenever they felt like it. "They left that message on my wall."

"Wait here." Without dropping the ruined drawing or looking at Juno, Sloane turned sharply on her heel and stormed out the door. She reached Ely's room in a matter of minutes... her feet knew the way far too well. Everything in Sloane's body wanted to bash the door in, but she knocked as calmly as she could, as convincingly as she could to persuade Ely to answer. And when Ely did answer, Sloane shoved the destroyed drawing in Ely's face, forcing her to back into the room.

"Is this your handiwork, Ely?" Sloane hissed, face stony cold as she slammed the door behind her.

Juno's heart leaped into her throat and she wanted to ask Sloane, no! Beg the girl not to go. Not to leave her behind. She had seen the look on her face, the scorching anger, the bubbling rage behind her barely composed expression, ready to explode like magma aching to create a fissure in the very earth they stood upon. It had frightened her, rocked her to her very core, for the first time Juno felt like Sloane was going to burn her if she got to close, and that is what kept her quiet. The fear of what she saw in that gaze.

But once she was gone. None of that mattered. Juno had made a promise, she was going to be braver. Everyone had problems. So what if Sloane was angry, she wanted to protect her. That was worth a lot more than any fear Juno could have. The tall girl sat down heavily on her bed, a weak hand going to her stomach, it was churning. She leaned forward her other hand going to her face, elbow resting on a knee that was bouncing nervously.

"I'll do better." She promised again quietly, and this nervous energy she was feeling pushed her to her feet, she grabbed a pencil and a paper and moved to her desk, she had to draw something, she needed to create or she was going to fall apart.

Ely was sitting at her room desk, calmly running a comb through her recent blow dried hair, murmuring to herself the lyrics to the song that was playing softly through her desk radio. Calm and relaxed as could be.

That is until she heard a knock on her door.

Ely pursed her lips, she hadn't been expecting anyone. Really, no one would dare knock on her door without being expressly told to. She didn't deal with people on this campus unless she needed to, and they all knew better than to meet her at her room. So whoever was knocking must have some serious balls, that or it could be campus police....

Ely sighed, standing steeling herself for awaited her, and once she opened it, for the briefest of moments, she wished it truly were campus police.

She was met with the feeling of paper being pressed into her face and being shoved backwards. She stumbled uncoordinated, hands flying to her face to rip away the scraps blinding her. "What the ********> she snarled when she could finally see, first looking down at the papers in her hands and then up to see who would dare do something like thi-

Sloane.

The composed look on the girls face told Ely that Sloane was anything but happy with her right now, which normally would be status quo, but this was slightly different. More along the lines of Sloane seemed like she was seconds from snapping her in two, depending on what Ely said or didn't say in the next few moments.

Ely supposed she should start by answering her question. She started by looking down at the papers in her hand. Spreading them out a bit looking over the letters until she spelled out enough of the message to get the gist of it. She couldn't help the little chuckle that escaped her. "Subtle."

She felt she was the only one who thought this was a even a little funny. But the girl she had sent had simply been told to vandalize Juno's room. Not leave a very ******** incriminating message. If Ely left her room today still able to walk, and talk. She was going to mutilate that girl.

For a moment she thought about lying, wondered how far that'd get her. But she knew that it wouldn't be very far at all. Ely licked her lips, a nervous tick she'd developed as a kid, one she knew Sloane would recognize. It was full on defense time. Ely sat herself on her bed, so at the very least Sloane couldn't knock her out from full standing.

"Technically. No, that isn't my handiwork." Ely said, despite the pain she knew might be coming, she still couldn't help but crack jokes, mostly because she knew Sloane wouldn't appreciate it, and because she wasn't exactly the type to go quietly. "But yea, I had someone go and send our good friend Juno a message." Ely admitted almost as easily as breathing.

"I'm surprised she told you, expected that beanpole to try and hide it. 'oh this, this was just a little accident.' Ha." Ely mocked Juno's husky voice to the best of her abilities, before running a hand through her recently combed hair irritably.

She was really going to skewer that idiot.

THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

(Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that. I feel like this summer has sucked for literally everyone. 2016 is cursed.)

Ely's nervous tick didn't go unnoticed by Sloane. In fact, Sloane felt a pinch of satisfaction when she caught Ely licking her lips. Ely was nervous. And she should be. Sloane wasn't going to let behavior like this go unpunished; she could be relentlessly unforgiving when she wanted to be.

"What exactly is the end game here, Ely?" she asked, her voice still steely calm. Sloane was the perfect embodiment of the eye of a hurricane. "Are you just trying to hurt me? Force Juno out of my life?" She eyed Ely for a long, quiet second, then placed her hands on the bed on either side of Ely and leaned in. "Or," she added, more quietly this time as she held perfect eye contact with her captive. "Or you think I'm going to come crawling back to you if Juno leaves me." A sliver of a wicked grin twisted Sloane's lips. "You've never been good at being alone."

The end game? Ely snorted, did she even have a goal anymore? At first it had been very simple, easy to read.

Keep that b***h away from what was hers. Now it wasn't so simple, she had seen things, been told things that made her doubt that Sloane was even hers anymore. No, not doubt. Ely wasn't ******** delusional, she didn't think that she had a real hold over Sloane. Not anymore, she knew how the world worked she wasn't crazy, just desperate. But she wasn't so desperate that she didn't know when she had lost. Juno had captured Sloane in a way that she couldn't anymore.

Ely couldn't even look at Sloane anymore. It hurt too much, and it was threatening to show in a way she promised she'd never express herself. Tears were for the weak, sniveling for the cowards, and she had more pride than that. Pride was about all she had now a days.

But Sloane wasn't for being ignored, and Ely allotted her all the attention she had when the girl pushed her down on the bed, trapping her with an arm on either side of her head. She met those eyes, and weakened.

She wanted her so bad it hurt, it twisted her insides, and her heart was bleeding in a way that no doctor could patch up, she felt like she was going to die, that literally any moment her heart was just going to give up on her. The grin that twisted on Sloane's face communicated that clearly. Showed that she knew that deep down Ely was just a hurt little girl. She played on Ely's desires knew how deeply Ely wanted her back. That sadistic taunting.

Ely stomach twisted again, this time it rose bile to her throat, and it escaped from her mouth in another snarl. How dare she play with her feelings.

"Maybe I'm doing beanpole a favor by trying to scare her away from you? Ever thought about that? Maybe I have her best interest in mind even when you don't!" Ely spat, she wanted to push Sloane away from her but she wouldn't overestimate her own strength. She knew where she excelled, and it wasn't in this position.

"You're toxic." Ely had said it once. She was saying it again. "I bet your having a great time right now, aren't you?"

                                                                (Lol I guess)

                                                                And there it was.

Sloane had struck a nerve. A big, red, raw nerve, and Sloane had dug her fingernails right where it hurt the most. She couldn't help the twisted grin on her face, dangerous and dark. She was far too satisfied with herself, but her eyes were so clouded with anger and sadistic delight that she couldn't see what she had become. Until Ely said it.

"Maybe I have her best interest in mind even when you don't!"

This statement shook Sloane free from herself, and the torturous smile evaporated. Now Ely was the one striking a nerve, and she had struck it hard, playing on fears Sloane had already lost sleep over. Juno wasn't safe, not while Sloane was in her life, and yet Sloane was refusing to do the one thing that could guarantee Juno's safety. Leave.

                                                                Sloane was toxic.

Sloane held Ely's gaze for a few seconds longer before pulling away and releasing her. Stepping over to the window, face toward the light, Sloane ran a hand through her hair. "I should've never let it get as far as it did," she said softly. "I should've shut it all down the moment I knew you were getting too close. I never wanted you to hurt like this."
