((We'll just Mark Alister until kurisutan returns.))
Ganner returned to his room and retrieved his gear. He strapped his armor on and swung his pack and crossbow on before throwing his cloak over his shoulders and tying it into place. Ganner left the room and descended the stairs. He thanked the innkeeper on his way out and bid him farewell. Ganner then made his way out to the road leading North out of town to meet up with his allies.

It wasn't long after Halcyon sheathed his blade before Ironclaw could be seen a little ways off, moving down the road. He had made his way out there after a short talk with the stable hand that revealed to him the fact none of his companions had horses and in turn decided to leave his own for Mazil and Lazim to care for. Even out in the sun, the light did nothing to reveal the man under the hood as he walked up to Halcyon. Ironclaw chuckled, "I see Ganner is yet to arrive, I'm sure he'll be along shortly."

"yes I'm sure he will." Halcyon Said, looking for once like a normal raven haired elf without a black mask tattoo. "And Alister as well. You mentioned something about killing foes at a range. I'll admit I'm not new to the crossbow," he said, patting the one on his back, "but perhaps giving me a few pointers wouldn't hurt while we wait."

"Well, personally I prefer my crossbows to be more compact than that." His hands disappeared under his cloak and a moment later pulled his hands out with a hand crossbow in each. "Personally they're a fairly straight forward weapon, point and shoot. Being quick and effective with them in combat is about muscle memory and that comes from practice and experience." He chuckled again, "In truth, in a decent fight they're just an opener for me."

"I shall have to make time to practice my aim then. Thank you." Halcyon leaned against a nearby tree while he waited for the others to arrive.

"Indeed, it is always important to hone your abilities. What is the phrase...practice makes perfect." He grinned and feature stood out against the darkness of his hood. The hand crossbows disappeared inside his cloak and he sat down and dug into his back before pulling out an apple. "So since it appears we have some time, what's your story?"

"I used to run in Luskan. Got bored with that and left. Pissed some people off on my way out of town and am probably being hunted at the moment. Then I met Ganner and Alister and now I'm just trying to make a new story for myself. And that's all you really need to know." Halcyon crossed his arms and shifted his body in such a way that it became clear he didn't want to talk about it.

Ironclaw simply nodded, "Its good to start over. A person's past isn't whats important, it just sets the stage for whom they will become next. After all, none of us would be who we are today without those events that came before." He chuckled a moment and took a large bit from the apple.

Ganner happened to choose that moment to arrive. He walked down the path with Alister slightly behind him. Since he had returned from gathering his gear he found that the dwarf was clutching his holy symbol and was largely unresponsive, though he did follow along when Ganner headed out. "Hey, guys. We all set then?" Ganner asked.

Ironclaw stood as Ganner and Alister approached, still looking at Halcyon. "A story for a later time it seems." He took another bite of his apple and turned to look toward the now arrived remainder of their party. "Now that you two have arrived it would appear we are ready for the trails before us." He chuckled and started walking assuming the others would be moving right along with him.

Halcyon followed behind him, casually checking his surroundings as he went for ambush or danger.

As the four set off down the road Ganner felt the need for conversation. These roads were often long, and he had learned that silence only made them longer. "So, Ironclaw, How long have you been at this sort of thing? Adventuring, working as a mercenary, that sort of thing." Ganner asked. (( Onward!))

"Well, its been four years since I was with my last adventuring party as it were, but I've been a mercenary I suppose for the allotment of time since. So all and all I'd say I've been at this all about nine or ten years now, but I was a soldier essentially for several decades before that." He took another bit of the apple, watching the land around him from the corners of his eyes. "Yourself Ganner?"

"I started when I was around seventeen... So about fourteen years now." Ganner said. "It was hard for me at first. I got lucky a lot though, and I managed to get through some pretty rough situations. And now here I am. Still alive, still adventuring. I haven't found that one epic lost treasure that'll let me retire yet, but I'm not ready to give up looking for it yet either."
