David began to smile as he noticed Shay eat. It seemed is sh eliked it very much or perhaps it was the mix of her hunger and the taste of the meat. David kept eating hsi own food, not eating fast nor slow but steadily and witht he same standards as Sha since after all they where both int he same situations here and none of them, what he knew, was a person who enjoyed the parties int eh castles but liked the shadows of corners. "There is more from where that came from!" David adds with a small smile.

Shay smiled up at David, her eyes sparkling "I hope so, cuz I'm still hungry." She continued smiling as she got another piece of meat, and ate it in much the same manner as the other. "So... will you be resting, or do I have to knock you out in order to get you to sleep?" she said teasingly yet knew he seriously needed rest. More at least anyways.

David just smiled towards Shay. Obviously a hunter wouldn't need to see his face to realize that he was pulling on his back up. His breathing and small dropping movements would be enough for her. Yet since Shay had food and fire there wasn't much David could do now but wait so resting would not be to bad. "So did you plan to have your ways with me, as jaws of darkness cloud my mind?" David asks with a laugh before he truly does put his head towards the ground and slowly drifts away.

Shay couldn't help but eye him suspiciously, yet she then chuckled from his random comment. "If by 'ways', you mean sexually... then ohh, yes! You can count on it." she teased back, yet she knew he was drifting away so he probably didn't hear her. So she merely grabbed one of her daggers, and began tossing and catching it in the air. Even though she was amusing and entertaining herself with her dagger, she was also keeping an eye out for danger.

The fires was burning over the fields. The screams of dying soldiers could be heard as an echo of horror, pity, pain and fear. David was running in the forest, jumping over fallen trees and rocks. There was no time to spare for he knew by the screams the the humans was failing to hold and he and the force of archer he was guiding needed to come out fast. The forest became brighter and soon hundreds of archer came onto the field and saw a sight that burned into every ones eyes. Demons did what ever they wanted to those who had fallen. The humans still had a great force but they could not come to the rescue for the poor humans behind the demon line. David picked up his boy and with pure hatred did an arrow fly. It penetrated the skull of a demon and killed it on sight. The seconds later so many arrows killed demons from the side and rear. The plan had worked but with a high price. Those who had fallen behind lines and survived became mad. David himself would never forget those faces. Then a scream behind him and David woke up violently.

Shay was quickly at his side with a hand on David's shoulder, "Are you ok?" She said with sincere concern for him. As David slept, throughout the whole time frame she could tell he was having a horrible dream. Muttering and shaking in anger, horror, angush, or disbelief. Shay knew he would need a friend when he woke up, she has had plenty of those nightmares and all Shay wanted to do was be there for him. Shay leaned in closer and squeezed his shoulder to let him know she was here for him. "It's okay... it was just a dream David. It's Alright." She add not knowing if it would be safe to hug him or not, or just comfort him in anyway.

David breathing was still hard. His forehead was all wet. He shook his head, why did his dreams had to haunt his mind this night. He knew why because one of all this fields hat he had seen always came after battle. He placed his hand on Shays and nodded. "Just a dream yes, but truth is that I was on the bloody fields of demons edge. I know that it's a shame to pity about wars since we've all had our shares of it." David calms his breathing done over time but he keeps his hand on Shay. He knew that both became hunters so they could be left alone and stay alone. "The faces comes to me with the taste of battle sadly. And yes now I'm quite fine thanks to you!" He turned his face to hers and smiled.

Shay noticed the beaded sweat on his brow... so with her free hand, she began mopping it up with a wet cloth. He's breathing started leveling out once more, so she relaxed a bit. But she was still worried about him, even when he tried to reassure her by placing his hand on hers. Shay then closed her fingers around his hand, "It's not a shame to pity what you've lost... what was taken, and pity what you could and couldn't do to fix it." She brushed a strand of hair from his face, and gazed into his eyes. "It's not your fault, David. Things happen that we just, can't change. Yes, we all play the 'what if' game... tormenting, blaming, and condeming areselves for the faces we wish we couldn't remember. The faces that haunt are every waking dreams, of the ones lost." She only paused to lean in and hug him. She couldn't believe it herself, but she hugged him fully. Engulfing him in an embrace so full of care and emotion, that she almost didn't wanna let got of him. Yet, when she leaned back, she smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. "I know you say your ok... but wounds take time to heal, and cuts so deep as those show even when there healed." She squeezed his shoulder in a comforting manner and in a, 'I'm here for you' type way as well... and then began to move away to give him space.

What could he do now? He did not know for not only had Shay seen David in one of his weakest states in life but she had comfort him dearly. He now doubted that these two would part with each other any time soon. Yet he looked into the sky and could see the sun as it warmed his cheeks. "How do you feel? How's the wounds?" Now Shay was still the wounded one and needed far more care then a bad dream and when dreams ended one needed to dive back into reality.

As Shay came back to her spot of rest, she answered him. "My shoulder and chest are doing pretty good actually. Good enough to travel at least." she said with a smile and wink. Shay noticed the earily morning sunlight splash upon David's face, illuminating his features. Shay couldn't resist smiling and admitting how handsome David was. He certainly was the kind of guy she went for, but that was beside the point. Shay quickly diverted her gaze and attention elsewhere, and began packing up.

David got to his feet and put on the cape. There wasn't much to do here beside giving back to the nature for what it had been giving him. He dug a hole next to the now put out fire. After cutting of dear for the home travel, he dropped the carcass in the hole and then filled it with the rest of old fire. A final touch made it looks like untouched ground as man could do it. Ten he turned to Shay to see if she was done. "It's time to move to the portal for it seems as if we done what we can. Perhaps there is a mission or two back home."

Shay caually glanced over at David as he cleaned up their camp site. She could't believe this was the same man, the same guy who she just comforted moments ago. But he was... She lightly smiled, I guess there's more to him that meet's the eye. Shay then got up. She put on her cloak, flung her satchel on her shoulder, and winced in pain as her muscles tensed up to the weight. Yet Shay didn't want David to worry, so she quickly covered up her discomfort with a smile and thanked her cloak for covering up most of her face. "Yeah..." she said to his first comment, "Maybe there is. Hopefully I'll be in top shape by then." she said with a light laugh.

He moved up to her and held an urge to pet her cheek. They had become close but David knew how close he had become when he was serving in the human army as a scout and archer. He had lost many but none of them was anything like Shay. Nor did she seek the next battle to stand in lie to death. They where both hunters and they had a future but that had to wait. It was still just an urge, to many feelings of weakness could be the reason. He needed to wait, just as the second and last look before you released your arrow. "Yes, I think you will. Yet we have a long travel ahead of us and none of us are strong enough to run all way back." He patted her shoulder instead and took the lead with all his equipment and weaponry.

David's closeness didn't make her uneasy, nervous or even wary. It was rather comfortable and soothing. The scent of him engulfed her sense's and she inhaled deeply. She sighed warmly and opened her eyes looking derectly into his, and then at his lips beckoning for a kiss.
What is wrong with you...! He's... She then sighed in awe... He's manly, muscular and ripe for the picking...Yowza! Bow-cha wow wow!
Shay actually purred like a cat sexually, and out loud. She then blinked at her bluntness and shook her head in an attempt to cleared it... and then cleared her throat. "Ahem... sorry. I had something in my throat." She lied, and looked away from him. Yet she couldn't deny the sexual appeal, and the arousal he caused her to go in when he was near her. She just had to resist. Very, very much so.
Shay smiled at David as he spoke, yet she frowned knowing she'd be the cause of most the time delay. She hated being this way more than anything, yet before she could comment. He patted her on her bad shoulder unknowingly and had her grunting out a curse, winced and hiss out in pain.

David walked in a normal speed. He wasn't moving very silently at this point. Yet David knew that it was a very little chance they needed to sneak when their night had been so safe from enemies. He made the path he had chosen easier for Shay to pass through. This wasn't a straight route to the portal but as straight one could do without coming back to the battle field nor jump across the branches as they had done away from the portal towards the place they where soon passing by, yet his time very covered and protected by the forest.
