Also, I think for most things I am going to try to remember to quote people from now on so they get flares that there's activity again. That's why I was away, this place has been dead for a long, long time. I was tired of dusting and busy with work and what not.

PhantomJavon Also, I think for most things I am going to try to remember to quote people from now on so they get flares that there's activity again. That's why I was away, this place has been dead for a long, long time. I was tired of dusting and busy with work and what not. No problem mate, we all have lives smile I saw your post in Roll to Dodge. I'll reply here so that people are more likely to see it. Basically, a total free for all. You may work together, you may fight with each other or you can even ignore each other entirely. Also, since it relies massively on player authorship, you can make the NPCs, locations, etc via doing actions, eg, "I/[Character] look for a village." and it's up to me to work them into the game world.
I've played it a couple of times in real life now and it's pretty fun once everyone gets used to it. As long as you accept bad rolls and, pun partially intended, roll with the outcomes, it'll be pretty fun. As mentioned in the post, it was originally conceived as a comedy game/RP and the RL games I've played have been pretty silly, but it can be as serious as you like. In another guild, the players have turned it into a mystery game with the driving question "Who did this and why are we here?", as I've started it in the same way I've started it here. There's only two characters in it so far, but they're at each others' throats.
Basically, make a character and either PM me with the character and I'll edit it into the character list or post an action with an intro to your character in the thread and I'll edit it into the character list after responding to your action.
I'm able to log in every day now, even if it's only for a few minutes, so I'll provide regular updates. I'd prefer more than one person to make an action per round so I have multiple people to respond to at once, but obviously that's not always going to be an option. I'll respond as often as I can to keep the game/RP running as smoothly as possible.

Because it sounded like a bit of both. And I had a character once in D&D who seemed to function on this scale most of the time and it worked out just fine. XD

I run the world, but you decide what is in it. A relatively apt example would be the DM from Darths and Droids, the webcomic, in that I may have my own agendas and plot in mind, but I'll go along with whatever derailments you guys come up with, only the derailments in this case are the actual story.

Aha, I see. lol. I need to go back and read that comic again, now that you mention it. I haven't read it since they just finished episode I. And that was ages ago. I'll see if I can get Steffy to join as well so things can actually happen, I suppose.

I'll see if I can get Steffy to join as well so things can actually happen, I suppose. I know Xion was wanting to play, so I'll quote her so she knows it might be coming soon. It's also worth noting that it's completely free as to who/what you play. A character in one of my RL sessions was Gary Oak and another character was, in the words of his player, The Last Tom in the Universe. That was the entire basis for his character. Hilariously, he attempted to find another Tom in the world and rolled a 1, so I ruled that he had found a hole in the space-time continuum in the exact size and shape as a person called Tom and dubbed it the Anti-Tom. As you can probably tell, my RL sessions have been very, very silly. As for how silly you want it, that's totally up to you guys. As for Darth's and Droids, I stopped reading about halfway through Episode 2. I should get back to it too sweatdrop
