Technically, the only thing you need Internet for in the game is the activation, and if you want to download spore creatures(which take up next to no space at all on your computer, because of how the game is designed)
There is no multiplayer. Its a massively single player game, as they say. You don't ever interact with other people, but you CAN interact with their creatures if you ever run into them in the galaxy. Apparently the galaxy is so large that if you visited every planet for one second for the rest of your life, you would not see them all(which makes me wonder...does this game end!? The answer, no...never...Spore is forever...hehe rhyme)
Some of the creature makers I've seen make their monsters look increadibly detailed! I found a perfect Tyranid Hive Tyrant! A really nice Xenomorph and Xenomorph queen too.
Then there are the vehicles...I personally fly around in a Star Destroyer at the moment, but I've got quite a few space ships.
Anyway, its a very fun game, if you into games like Spore. I haven't gotten the HUGE weapons in space phase yet(though I do have the final Laser beam and Auto Turret, as well as the Justa Bomb)
Im currently worrying about fending off the annoying religious zealots that keep attacking my solar systems, because I wouldn't pay them...apparently they put a tax on all non-beleivers...something like 100,000. I said HELL NO and destroyed a few of their cities.
I can't wait until I get the planet buster. Imma blow the entire galaxy to peices!
And the heat beam Im looking forward too, because Imma roast people alive! I AM GLOBAL WARMING!
BWAHAHAHAHA
Ok yeah, I got a power trip there...deal with it.

Well, the game wont run on THIS computer, I run it on my mom's one year old labtop. I don't have a good enough graphic's card.
The graphics card is the only REAL thing that is a big deal, and it doesn't even need THAT good of one.(Mine is just WAAAY to old)
So yeah, just check out the System Requirements on the box and pray your's are as good or better.

/i have not gotten that far in the space age i have trouble with funding and making the planets habitable. mostly cause i have not put any thought into it.

I can't think of anything that's PS3 exclusive. I'm waiting for Saints Row 2 which will be for the 360 and PS3. Then I'm getting Fable 2.
