To whom it may concern:
Welcome and congratulations. You are just one of many promising participants within the upcoming Heaven or Hell Tournament. I offer my utmost thanks to your support, and wish your team the best of luck.
Please note, that all Team Captains will be issued FIGHTER's IC-wise during the opening ceremonies, so it is imperative that if not the entire team will be able to appear during the ceremonies, that at least the Team Captain be there.
With the FIGHTER's, you will be able to review all of the rules and guidelines concerning HOH IC, as well as receive daily updates such as this.
Of course this is purely an OOC update, but as you may be, I am also filled with much anticipation at the start of HOH. This is a project long due for fruitation, and it warms my heart to see how well it has started off.
By this time, all teams should have received invitations to the HOH guild, as well as checked in. There, you will find all the information pertaining to the HOH mandate, as well as the staging areas in which most of the matches will take place.
Interaction is encouraged, and bickering is frowned upon.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to the Q&A thread.
I would also like to state that all teams must be aware of the rules in there entirety. Everything is subject to change at a moment's notice, as nothing is set in stone, so please be aware of that(since this is an evolving tournament, one that will only improve throughout the years). Refunds are also not allowed, but may be reimbursed upon special circumstances. Your in all the way, or you should not have bothered in joining up. A team can be easily replaced, since spots have been so heavily contested for, last minute.
Bickering and flaming during the matches will not be tolerated at all, and all teams involved will be penalized points, and thus have their chances of winning slimmed down extensively.
The judgements of all three judges are final; as it takes all three of them to call on any single point. Callings can be contested, and lobbied against, but only after the fact, as the tournament is meant to progress at a fast pace.
The striker system. Possibly the most interesting aspect of this tournament, and certainly not the most original, it is a key factor in victory.
To properly make use of the Striker system, you must understand how to first use it.
A striker is basically known as an outside assist, which can be performed a total of three times, but never in consecutive succession, i.e. one after the other. To use a striker block, simply read this example:
Fighter A
Swinging his sword in a vertical motion, he aimed to bat his opponent away as well as to bite into his flesh.
Fighter C
Sliding in from the side, he would aim to completely knock the swordsman off his feet, giving his teammate a clear shot.
Fighter A
Completely focused on the initial opponent, he was completely offguard by the sudden presence of the other man, not too mention the fact that his world suddenly slanted sideways. He hit the ground with a thudd, cursing as he went.
Fighter B
Seeing the sword come in, and no way to get out in time, he was in for a world of hurt. Luckily however, the swordsman was thrown off balance, giving him enough time to leap forward with a stomp.
Simple enough, right? No matter what, the incoming striker must give some kind of notice OOC wise, that he is about to enter, that way both combatants can accomodate for him making his post, and then adjusting properly.
Now, for what you may have been waiting for.
