Ah, well, I am, shall we say, half-status on having an Etsy account. Have been for quite some time. I created the bare basics of making a login and signing up, but... have not added any listings or created a store. THAT'S the part I need to get around to. *facepalm*
Basically I made the account right before my health got so bad that I had to quit my job and move in with relatives... and since than I've just been so caught up with trying to get better and also working on other stuff like making plushies and now doing other art and writing that I just have not really done the Etsy thing yet. I've also had some other issues I get hung up on that have to do with uncertainty about what financial accounts to link to Etsy and that is basically just one huge gigantic ball of uncertainty all over the place right now, so... I have been avoiding making decisions about it because for me, an Etsy store is so much more of an official "here I am open for business" thing than just selling a plush here and there on dA.

*cue semi-random story times* I really don't have a lot in the way of random Diedrich items. I hardly ever buy things (especially anything that costs GCash, comes in a CI, or is expensive) and although I've been on Gaia since Feb. 2007, I haven't always been around watching forums and announcements and collecting every free item grant out there. Except once in a while. Easter 2012 was one of those times, and I was alllllllll over that one! So I do have a technicolor Flock of Diedrichs. Sadly, it is something that a person can only use one of at a time. Still, if I randomly got a second one, I wouldn't complain and I'd give it to a secondary account. XD What I think is awesome, though, is all those little silly things that even if a person had several they could still use them all because there's lots of poses, y'know? I love stuff like that. (Wouldn't it be fun if they made a version of the rainbow diedrich baby flock that was like that? yay) That's why I think it'd be great if someday I had a whole freaking pile of cheepz. Oh, for me it's not been just since GCash came out. It's been since... forever. I've never bothered to save up for anything or quest for anything or actually seek out to try to buy anything. Every now and then, if I've got some gold built up to several thou from posting in forums or if I decide to sell off some old junk I don't want anymore to clean up my inventory or whatnot... unless someone I know needs donations for something and several thou is enough to do them some good, I go buy myself new hair or maybe I'll be changing my outfit and decide I want some black slacks or something so I'll browse the marketplace or shops for something close enough.
Okay, well, actually, when I very first started out, I tried to dress my avatar as close as I could like the outfit I had imagined for the first OC that I used in a roleplay on Gaia. That was as close as I got to a true quest for an outfit. Once I got the outfit as close as I could with the items that Gaia had back in 07, I hardly ever again bothered with a genuinely specific item quest (and certainly not any that required much scraping-together of coinage), until this past year when I decided I REALLY wanted the brandisher achievement, but even then it was somewhat flexible since I basically just needed a gun to equip that would work for the achievement but the buccaneer's bronze pistolshiv apparently wasn't acceptable, and then the gun from the "enforcer officer" item apparently didn't work either, so I kept selling old stuff that I had until I ended up with enough gold to buy myself a silver revolver and THAT got me the achievement. And I'd decided I wanted the "hold 'em ace" too, so I saved up for that when I could play holiday switchem because that's when I rack up gold easiest.
Okay, so I guess I do sometimes kinda save up gold and quest for things... but not often and I usually am just grabbing some easy gold with switchem to spend on whatever the current event is, to donate to someone, or just to use on fish or whatever. When I want something to complete a look I search for something to fit my current visual whim and my current budget instead of putting it on a wishlist.
I don't normally quest achievements all that much, either, but I do sometimes.
What can I say? My Gaia quests fall into this order, mostly: 1. Roleplays (suuuuuuch an addict) 2. Friends (don't care about quantity, just keeping in touch with ones I have if they keep in touch with me, though making new friends is grand) 3. Fun items / critter items 4. Games and events 5. lol I passed my Engineering Graphics I course with a C. Glad that's over xp I have Construction Management and Intro to Engineering(had to retake this class since I transferred from another university...bleh...)left and I only need to come 2 days a week now so I'm happy about that. For the most part, I've been doing well since I had straight B's until I missed a few assignments in the class I just finished haha

Our mom didn't want us to do it since my twin and I would be working together and possibly butting heads but that hasn't happened so far. We've been communicating much better because of it and have become more supportive. My twin even has her boyfriend helping us with shipping...so idk I'm gathering up the total of how much we spent on supplies...and just calculating business-y stuff.
But enough about my predicament! That's completely understandable on your part 3nodding ...and I think I would do the same if I fell into that situation. In a way, it does give you a lot more freedom and is definitely more laid back. As for the financial linking...Do you have online banking? It made it a lot easier for me to link my account and things since I had online banking - all the info I needed was right there!!

Ooh, your poor hand. That happens to me too if I spend an awful lot of time on just doing digital or a lot of time just coloring colored pencil because of the way I do it. When I was in school I was training my left hand to do some of the most repetitive and least-skilled bits of things to help out and save my right hand... I highly recommend training oneself for semi-ambidexterity, both for that reason and so that if you ever do have an accident or surgery or major overuse you won't be completely art-disabled by it even if your art still suffers horribly.
Yay for passing your class! I am glad there's things to be happy about with your classes, and Bs are nice and only two days a week sounds good. biggrin

Um, ah... *cough* ...well, see... I have an account linked to paypal, and paypal linked to Etsy. It's not that kind of problem.It's... well, with my health causing both medical bills and unemployment, resulting financial problems and owing a lot of money I can't pay... it's uncertain whether I should be trying to make much yet on Etsy or where I would try to remove it to withdraw it because I'm not sure if I'll have much control over my (currently empty anyway) bank accounts since I am going to have to file bankruptcy and there are other complications going on right now as well. ^-^;;;; But maybe I need to just test out setting up a small store anyway, and even if all I do is get a little money onto paypal, if I can use if from paypal or just keep it there for a while that could maybe be alright.

Since there are now bunny furs that are more Diedrich/grunny-colored, would you prefer your green-bunny art to be colored closer to that color, or do you still want it to be like the kind of mint green that the reference is? (basically was it supposed to be mint green all along, or were you going for grunny green?)
