Mike's heart sank, and his stomach tried to crawl from his throat. Blinking, he held back most of what would come up, then swallowed the rest that had made its way into his mouth. He made a small gagging sound that was screened by the waves.
Mike couldn't kill anymore. He suddenly got very tired, but kept up with Lucien with a slight jog. He didnt even realize how hard a time Leith was having and how Warakai had to keep her steady.
He was only focused on his past.
Then Lucien's words started making themselves known, and Mike listened. He listened, then frowned.
"No, we do not," Mike bellowed. "We do not have to take their lives."
Mike seethed with anger and Lucien's words. It was so easy to.
"You can do what you want, kill whoever you want to, but I will have no part of it," He hissed through his teeth, jabbing a finger at the Elemental. "I dont care if I'm an Elemental or not or if its my duty. I will have no part of it."
Mike stood where he was, his eyes cutting through the darkness again with orangeness. He licked his chapped lips, and stared at the ground now. He wanted to disappear forever. He wanted to die.

Warakai opened the satchel pulling out a group of paper spheres nine in total each the size of a grapefruit. "Thermite" he said "burns super hot through metal with no problem and it self oxidizes so its water proof" he said with a smile looking around for a place to put them "Mike could you take Leith back while we sort this out" Warakai said.

"Mike," Leith said as she put a hand on his shoulder, "Come on. Warakai is right. We should get out of here. Let them handle this." Her hand was cool on him, though it was through his shirt, as she led him back towards the boat. Once they reached open air again she stopped him and said quietly with a tired smile, "I had no idea you were an Elemental."

Mike blinked, and gazed up at Warakai. He was glad the subject was dropped, even though it still went on in his mind. He looked at Leith, who didnt look so well. Mike frowned, feeling bad for not noticing before.
Finally, he said, "Yeah, I'll go with 'er."
Then he added, squinting his eyes until they were orange slits, "You be careful... Warakai."
He looked to Lucien who almost blended in to the darkness.
'You too, you mind-reading b*****d.'
He smiled when Lucien called back to him.
He let Leith guide him outside, her hand like ice through his shirt. He swallowed, trying not to think about things. The darkness returned to his eyes, and he knew his eyes were back to normal.
"I had no idea you were an Elemental," she said to him. Mike laughed a little, gazing up at the sad excuses for stars.
"I didn't know either."

Lucien nodded towards Warakai. "If you get caught just act like you don't know us and give them information. I certainly don't mind." He cleaned the blood off his blade and reverted it back to a simple pocket-watch.
He then called out, "AND I'M NOT A MIND READER, JUST A PLAIN JACKASS!!!!" He then turned to Warakai. "Alright, we have work to do."

Leith folded her arms across her chest as she continued towards the boat, "What do you mean? You must have known you at least could control fire...you're arm didn't break from nothing. I think you lied to us about that." She picked up his jecket from where he had thrown it down at the beginning of the fight and handed it to him casually.

Mike took his jacket from Leith and put it under his arm. "I had no idea until I ran away from home, to be honest. But its not like I knew what an Elemental was... or if they existed ..." Mike gently lay his jacket over Leith's shoulders and quickly stepped away, clearing his throat.
"And I broke my arm tumbling down that cliff down there, too." He could feel his face turning red. He was so embarrassed. He clamped his eyes shut again, expecting to get punched in the arm.
Girls did that when they were lied to. At least the ones he knew. Then again, Leith wasn't exactly like every girl Mike knew.

Warakai took out the cigarette lighter and set the spheres on fire kicking them around the room to positions where they would do the most possible damage "In about five minutes these are going to cut straight through the hull, this thing will sink pretty quickly" Warakai said.

Leith, instead of punching him, let out a laugh, "Really? Why would you fall down a cliff? I mean, why were you on the cliff to begin with?" She pulled the jacket tighter around her. It smelled like....Not a cologne or perfume, but just like a person should. It smelled like leather and like human. Perhaps a little bit like ash, but it may have been her imagination. She sat down in the sad next to what used to be their fire, missing it's warmth.

Mike laughed a little too.
"I went to the cliff in the first place to avoid the guards. I didn't want to get picked on or ripped off, yknow?" Mike added. "Or searched."
Mike revealed his brother's army knife from his front pocket, holding it proudly, and tossing in the air to catch it. He held it out for Leith to look at, then continued talking.
"Well, anyway, I was almost at the bottom when I lost my balance and... uhm, yeah."
They were at the old campsite. There, Warakai's boat was beached, and the campfire was a smoldering pile of ash. Mike picked up some excess wood from the sand and added it to the pile. He rubbed his hands together briskly, creating friction and getting them warm, and then snapped the fingers of his good hand towards the driftwood. A small fire made itself cozy in the dry material, and burned well.
'Now that is a fire.'

Leith took the knife and inspected it as a fire roared to life. She thoguht breifly about gaurds spotting them then shrugged. She'd hurt herself more if it meant surviving.
The knife was in excelent condition, and it looked leathal. It was beautiful. She turned it over a few more times in her hands then held it out for him to take it back, "It's wonderful, where'd you get it?" She stared straight into his eyes when she asked this. It wasn't a threatening stare, though. It was more like she was completely focused on him. Her blue green eyes were like churning waves at high noon and they held him fast to her gaze.

Mike wasnt sure if he was starting to sweat because of the fire or because of Leith's immaculate eyes. Reluctantly, he snapped from her gaze and took his knife back.
"This is my brother's knife," He said, smiling and turning the knife over in his hands for the thousandth time. "If I lost this, he'd never forgive me."
Smirking, Mike put the knife safely back in his pocket. But after that, he didn't know where else to look but back at Leith. He slowly blinked a couple times, gazing at her pale face, her light colored hair, and her blue-green eyes. His fingers twitched.
