Serieve Sorry I haven't been checking in lately. Football season's always busy for me because of band and everything. Luckily, I had the foresight to put together most of this issue at the beginning of the month. So, Rushifa's column is on hold. I don't think we have a review, so if anyone is interested, feel free. The Critic's Corner is especially interesting this go around. Rushifa has some good ideas. Now to find the time to implement them. Maybe we should think of doing another Beyond the Box segment. Rushifa, if you have any ideas, or if you have something in mind Lilly. They're usually staff-directed. Or, for an especially dangerous idea, make a Beyond the Box that gives tips on starting a magazine of your own. It would depend on whether or not you like competition. I wouldn't mind some, and I'm sure our readers would want more diversity. Of course, there's no guarantee any of them will succeed. It could be that we just lucked out. Also, next month is NaNoWriMo, and I've signed up to try it. I don't know how successful I'll be, but... Anyway, I was thinking we should get a head start on the next issue to make time for it. Or, make a NaNoWriMo themed issue. Wouldn't that be neat? Go around and ask for past NaNo pieces and put them in with little notes from the writers, describing their WriMo experience. Feedback? As for reviews, I think I have at least one that just needs some editing to be ready, so I'll get on that. As to Nanowrimo, I'm also going to be doing it! Serieve, what's your account on the nano site? Mine's Rushifa, same as here. Now, I think it would be awesome to do past Nano projects, although I hope just excerpts, with notes and wisdom from those who've done it in past years. I tried it last year, and failed, but I could maybe right a column on it, or something...we'll see if I actually have time next month, with Nano and all... As for the Beyond the Box, are those the bigger projects that happen so often? I've been thinking about having one were everyone has to do poems/shortstories/whatever based off of fairytales...but that's just an idea.

Rushifa: Wrong right-write, wrong were-where.
Serieve and anyone else: I know I've told you I'd be leaving the 'zine multiple times, but I figured I might as well officialize it now. Good-bye, staffies.

Good-bye, staffies. aww, it will be sad to see you go! It's been fun doing the 'zine with you. I hope you have fun enjoying the lack of some extra zine stress, that all your classes go well, etc, etc. You'll be missed! Ps. xd the grammer goblins stole my brain... (indicates typos)

My NaNo name's the same.
And a fairy tale BtB sounds great! But make sure you're going to have enough stories/poems first.
Lesson well learned.
Also, I found this neat online magazine that, like us, is completely voluntary. They have their own site and forum though, and it doesn't seem to be as organized as ours. Plus, they don't have as many people to submit, thus their submissions aren't on the level ours are.
I'll get a link, if anyone's curious to see. It's called TheMuse.

I was also thinking of doing one where everyone has to take a common cliche, probably from a list, and write it well. I'll think if over. I could do both, actually, and just publish whichever one gets all the submissions in first. hmm, TheMuse, eh? I'd definately be interested. I've actually been wondering if it would be worth it to make a website for us, even if it's just for general information. I have some html knowledge, so that wouldn't be a problem, I just don't know if it's necessary... Oh, I still think we should make a hiring thread, which we can post in the Writing Forum and maybe in the forum where jobs are posted. Also, I like the idea of doing some larger contests now and then, giving out prizes and such. I suppose the BtB could be part of that...

Yeah, there is a forum for that, but I don't remember what it's called, and I'm too lazy to go look. But yeah, we could post a thread there, and in the Writing Forum, and then maybe have an announcement about it in the zine every month. Plus, an official thread about it here, where we can store all the submissions we get in the normal threads, and go from there. Speak of the threads in here, I think we need one that's specifically for newbies. As in, something with a title like "Important-read before joining," especually since we can't edit the welcome page. I remember being really confussed when I was first trying to join. And yes, TheMuse does look promising; I'll look through it more later when I have more time.

Well, I won't be doing nano. Instead I'll just be writing papers. Chances are I'll come close to 50k when I add in my columns for the newspaper and everything else that needs to get written.
Though, if you're looking for the ultimate in literary magazines without submissions, look at my University's, 99% of the submissions are from the staff of the mag.

Oh yeah.
Voting booth's open. Has been open.
That leaves... name list, Review, and the Gossip section in NW. Plus the details and last minute advertisements, if anyone has time to find any.

Ok, so I've decided you're getting the letter to the editor I wrote for U.S.A. Today, but never sent in, because I don't have the time (read don't have the mindset or the will) to write something else.

I can't even begin to berate myself enough.
P.S. Okay! Patched. Now, I am out of time, and need someone to publish the issue, because I won't have any time tonight.
Please? Thankyousomuch!
