Lillian Ashe Should just make this month a staff-issue. No. I've already got enough s**t on my hands with the Newspaper here. First they have me as a features editor doing a story on s**t I don't give a damn about. Then I get a call last night wanting me to take over the Liberal Columnist job, which since I want to be doing that means I have a column to write by monday. And now I have to do a whole bunch of paper work including getting my original social security card, which I don't carry with me and technically they have no god damn reason to have. I wish congress would up and make companies requiring your ssn illegal already. Oh, but my website is up and running now.

idea Idea:
What if we offered small rewards for people who point out mistakes in each issue? Something like 10g per mistake, and it has to be technical, solid typos. No quibbling over wording or anything like that, and with allowances in grammar for voice/effect. Maybe only typos that are outside of the fiction and prose?
What do you think?

I say no, because frankly, ever ******** comma that only a pretentious dipshit would point out doesn't deserve reward. Frankly I don't like to encourage behaviour like Mr. Dada's. If you're going to be that much of a p***k to bring up a lack of a comma in a conversational thread post that is completely intelligable to begin with after already being a troll, you shouldn't be rewarded. Then to accuse me of being a troll for telling him to stop being a d**k, well, frankly, that doesn't bode well with me. If he wants to try to challange the authority of the WF to try to become some super elite, more power too him, but frankly, even we have limits to how much grammar nazism we'll allow.

Kraeela Serieve Oh, and let's not start a flame war with Bill. Too late for that one....... dramallama xd Don't I know it? And now we have a new problem: thread's been locked. Our options are: 1) Make a new thread 2) Use stored submissions* 3) Ask for PM'ed submissions 4) Come up with some new, brilliant and flashy idea *Which brings me to another point. Thus far I've stored submissions because I remember what it was like to have a lack of submissions. Now it's kind of odd, notifying people months after they've submitted that they've been accepted. Maybe we should have a storage limit. Submissions that aren't used after... 3 months are rejected. Input? Also, in future issues we'll aim to have the Submissions Thread up by the 5th of the month. For us procrastinators.

I don't think its so wierd using submissions long after they've been submitted, they're still submissiona after all and if they're quality works, length of time in submission-purgatory shouldn't disqualify them for publication. ((Wow, talk about redundant word usage!))
And I choose all 4 of those! ^_^
Deabus Amor's New, Brilliant and Flashy Idea is..... dun dun duuuun:
How about a How-To-Write for various publications? I mean writing for a book is totally different from writing for a magazine, a newspaper, a TV show, a play etc.
A How-to-Write in Form? Novels are different from novelletes, short stories, poems, essays, formal articles, instructive articles, informational articles -deep breath- and the list goes on.....
A How to Write in genre? The voice, mood, pace, tone etc of Sci-Fi is different from Fantasy, Romance, History, Horror, Mystery, Inspirational etc.
Uhm...yeah.
-stumps keyboard diarrhea-

For us procrastinators. What I want to know is what mod locked it, because I know I asked Eve to just delete all the worthless crap there. I'd say we could use our lengthy database of unused stories this month and clear that out some. We could also just make a few threads, now that Bill has gotten a serious thrasing from a few people including a mod.

Lilly, you're about 13 now, aren't you? Hm... And you're a good writer. I think you'd have a good chance at earning $40, if you submitted something to this magazine. It's got a big circulation ( I believe it said about 6,000 Actually it says 20,000. My bad.) and they get about 250 submissions a week, so it'd be a challenge. Maybe. Just thought you might be interested.

Or use up stored submissions. But, I really do want some new material to critique because what's in the Mound may get a severe thrashing/beating on my behalf. I like the storage limit idea, but let's raise it to five months.

Alright. I noticed that the submissions thread was locked; however, I haven't the energy to locate it again. If the submissions are still open. To whom do I send the story?
Jaho suggested that I just post it here, but I'd rather PM it, frankly.

You could PM it to Serieve, of course; maybe Deabus, but there's no guarantee (s)he'll be on to receive it; or, you could send it to me.
