A sunny, spring day is for the most part easy going and tranquil. An idylic day such as this one usually leaves people in idylic, ocasionally romantic, moods. Which is very much the case in pretty much everywhere. The Mystic Fountain HighSchool being no exception. So, for the most part, it was a calm, uneventful day.

For the most part.

It is known that people connect to the nature around them and behave accordingly. If you happen to be an elemental lord, that is all the more true. If you happen to be an elemental lord on an idylic spring day such as this one, you will usually be in a rather lazy, overly blissful and mushy mood. All the conditions would be gathered for one to feel like that.

Such was the case with Masaki. Masaki also so happened to be sitting in a classroom, by a closed glass window. The class had been stretching for the past two hours, which means that for the past two hours, a strong sunlight has been showering him and with no breeze to freshen him. As a result, the boy, after two hours of a tedious class under the sun, is supercharged with energy.

With no way to spend that energy, he does what any blissfully happy teenager would do during a tedious class in a beautiful day.

He jumped out the window.

Even Adolf seemed to be enjoying the weather, despite the fact that he couldn't feel his goddaughter's aura anywhere near. He figured she was on a field trip or something. This is why he was in his demonic form, all twenty-some feet of it, lying in the grass under the sun and lazing about.

Masaki was joyful. In a burst of instinct, he had leapt to freedom.

He could feel the breeze buffeting against his face and the entirety of his body, in a sensation that bordered on flying. He did feel that he was flying. Which wasn't quite the case. In a state of mind that was similar to being drunk, he had forgotten some rather important facts.

Fact one, the breeze was nice, but it was not quite strong enough for his powers to allow him to fly. Fact two, he had jumped out of the third floor. Fact three, he was in for a fateful meeting with the floor below.

Three facts which became increasingly apparent as the force of gravity began pulling him down with increasing force. What an attention hogger, the boy thought.

So he fell. He and the window he had shattered in the liberating process of jumping.

Flailing his arms wildy in the process and closing his eyes in hopes that he would miss the floor if he couldn't see it, Masaki fell.

He did miss the floor. Whether it was luck or sheer geniality, he landed on something big and fluffy. Something which probably had it's day ruined.

Feeling something distinctly human-shaped land on him, Adolf's head lifted up quickly and he looked at his side. "...Hello?" he said, though it came out as more of a question. "Can I help you?" Large red eyes stared at the human who had apparently fallen onto him from, he suspected, the third-story window that was now broken.

"Oh, hello there. Such a nice day, isn't it?" Masaki spoke in a mellow voice, having completely overcome the incident which had just happened. He slouched to a more comfortable position on the demon's fur and simply let himself be.

Adolf stared at the human male on his side, unsure of what to make of him. He seemed, at least, to have no ill intentions. "Yes, it is a nice day." Deciding to just go with it, as he himself was in no hurry, he said, "My name is Adolf. What is yours?"

"Eh... Not really sure. Too nice a day to worry about such tiny trivialties... Kinda funny, I think most people call me Masaki. That's probably it." Masaki replied quite lazily. It didn't take long for him to yawn and blink sleepily.

"You're fluffly." The young man added, before yawning again.

Adolf got the distinct feeling that this weird human was on drugs. That was his first thought. His second thought was Of course I'm fluffy. After all, he meticulously brushed his hair every day. It was a big source of pride for him. "Thank you." A compliment was a compliment, after all.

"Hmm... Know what would make this day even better?" Masaki inquired his furry friend while gazing at the clouds. If there was Nirvana, he had found it.

Adolf briefly shook his large head. "What?"

"Eh... Was hoping you would know... How to make it better... Guess it can't be done after all..." Masaki answered idly. The cloud gazing, after a few minutes, was starting to make the late teen hungry. All the coulds were remembering him of food. Even those which didn't look like any food known to man. Yet, he was feeling too well and too lazy to bother fetching himself something to bite.

Adolf shrugged--well, as much as a large dog can. It really is harder than it sounds. "I suppose not. Unless we had a large bowl of soup..." Oh yes. Where his goddaughter loved pasta, Adolf loved soup. (And suits.)

"Soup... Soup's good. Hmm... There's a lake nearby... Lake's got fish..." Masaki rambled on a voice that was barely audible, amidst yawns.

"Ehh... Follow me... I know where we can eat." The young man asked the oversized dog, after struggling to his feet. His body was offering a tremendous ammount of inertia, which he had difficulty in dismissing.

Slowly, but at a gradualy faster pace, he dragged foot after foot on the grass as he walked. He had set his mind on lunch.

Curious, Adolf followed this student as he walked over to the lake. Was he planning on fishing? It would probably be a good day to do so. Stretching, he took his time with moving, seeing as the human was as well, and the human would need to take about ten steps--maybe more--for every one of his.

In spite of their slow pace, it didn't take them long to reach the lake. Or so it felt. Masaki wasn't quite grasping the passage of time, some he deduced they must have been quick. By the lake, with water reaching his heels Masaki took in the scenery and inhaled deeply.

"This will... Take a while. Please hold back anything that may attack." Masaki told the demon dog. His attitude and voice were much more sombre that they had previously been, his face wasn't quite a slothful mask of bliss. Not any more. With an impassive face, the young man clapped his hands together in respect and bowed. During the act, which had been directed at the large body of water, he thanked for the meal.

He knelt and pressed against the lake's surface with his hands. Then, after closing his eyes, he remained perfectly immobile.

"I will need two hours. Be ready." Was the only thing he said.

The elemental lord was, very, very slowly heating the lake. Specifically, he was using himself as a medium -a lens of sorts-, to transfer the heat his body was collecting into the lake's water. There was no spell, no magic, no trick to it. An elemental lord doesn't work like that. It would be more appropriate to say that they tell nature how to act. So, he was telling the lake to become hotter. It was a slow, painstaking process but at an imperceptible rate, the lake's water was gathering heat from the surroundings and generating it's own, working as a heat sink.
