That's silly. The second it can be explained with some scientific math equation (force + applesauce = eyebeams), the second it stops becoming magic.
Now you're just being an idiot. You don't apply equations to the process. You only apply it to the results. Say person A produces a fireball, well it doesn't matter how he did so. But through science we can deduce how much damage that fire ball can do.

First off, they do sync up, you're just cherry picking what I say to benefit your own words. I am a realist as far as I can be in a predominately fantasy based fictional world. To that extent I try to employ concepts of science when and where I can. Just because I can't employ them in all situations doesn't mean that my way of doing things is any less valid.
