Ah.....the 29th of the month....... ninja
gonk I know. It's all my fault anyway. Procrastinating again.

So I'm going to put it togeter now--in the next hour. And... well, tomorrow I'll have a super full day, so we'll either publish late at night or ASAP on the 1st. domokun

With a quick BOI vote. May not be totally fair, but...

I'll try to get on, check by, sometime then. Might not be able to, though. 'Crastination's set me up with a crapton of homework I have to do tomorrow. sweatdrop

Rushifa, if you get your column done in time you'll have to add it yourself or just skip an issue.

This was a long issue. 3 posts, but it was because of the extras, not the pieces themselves. I could have cut a few things to make it shorter, but I decided not to.

I'll set up the Booth and then go to bed. It's too late to do much else. Looong day tomorrow. From 5AM to 9PM, I won't be home.

So. I'll publish when I get home, or someone else can if they get the BOI done, and people will see it by the 1st of September.

I also wanted to address some ideas on changes, which I mentioned in the afterword, but not right now.

*yawn* Now to attack the Booth...

Side note: I'm betting some of you read The Catcher in the Rye by Salinger. What'd you think of it?

Yeah, I think I'll have to skip this month, at least for my column. My work schedule doubles, and I was suddenly the only one in charge of an online text-based rpg for a few weeks, so I've been busy. I'll add a review to the Draft, though, and go tackle the BOI.

Edit: Alright, review added, and voted for BOI.

As for Catcher in the Rye, I read it a few years ago for class. Most people like it better than most other school-assigned books, but I personally wasn't impressed. It was entertaining, but not really remarkable, in my opinion.

#@$%+^&*!

Okay. That is it. No more.

I want to reform our BoI voting system. No more ties. No more rushing or delaying. None of it.

Our opinions differ too much (as they should) and with only three of us, it doesn't work.

This system is totally unfair. No more.

Hopefully, we'll come up with something by next month.

EDIT: Gosh dang, this is one freakin' long issue.

A system for voting, as opposed to just lasso'ing up the staffies? Which I forgot to do, this month.... sweatdrop

Maybe a points system? Content, readability, consistency, hooker/closing, junk liek that? But that only encompasses the technical, not the creative.....

No, nonono, I don't want to have to lasso people anymore and a technical points thing is just... no.

I know we originally said no polls, because of the inaccuracy, but now I'm thinking that more reader participation would be fun, and each issue would be more like a mini-monthly contest type thing. And if we're that picky, we can have "gold" as the very first poll option, and hopefully that will filter the poll.

I was thinking we'd publish the issue with an announcement in the BoI spot, and a poll with each piece listed. Then at the end of the month, or middle (sometime), we'd get the result and post the piece in the BoI. And if we have enough pieces to have a Runner Up, piece with second most votes gets First Runner up.

This way we have more voters and a more generalized opinion. We just don't have enough full-time staff to vote ourselves, not unless we found some clever way of doing it. Clever isn't my strong point.

Tell me what you think. Argue with me. I don't want to play tyrant here. ninja

Only argument I got is that relies on the honor system. What's to stop people from voting for their friends, or voting on mules, or whatever?

If you see me using a lot of bad grammar, please don't mention it; it's Friday, just got out of school, my grammar's bound to be kinda bad.

Well if it looks like we're being duped, I'll just pull out my twelve accounts and even things up a little.

Well, some of them are specialized accounts, dealing with certain things like presidents, or political viewpoints. They're basically charactitures.

And who'd have thought that Conservative run newspaper wouldn't let me write a political column? And I have to wait till Sunday to see what sort of features they've got for me to write. Bleh... This University really needs a good dose of liberaling the ******** up.

-Shock-

No. I usually put one up, but decided not to, this time, as I may not be around to update it. Could have made one with the mule, but -she shrugs-, I'm not really comfortable with using the mule for anything.

Should just make this month a staff-issue.

Contrary to how it looks, I have been paying attention. ninja

BOI voting is still undecided, and there are still those things that I mentioned in the Afterthought:

Getting rid of the Latest Gossip section in the NW (yea or nay?)
Writer's Spotlight (this would be like a colllective showcase, ineligable for BOI)

And assuming this month's submission thread hasn't been made (I haven't seen it, anyway), I'll make it ASAP. Which isn't now. Probably tomorrow at school, depending on the amount of homework.

domokun Busy schedule.

EDIT: Submission thread - http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17696549

Oh, and let's not start a flame war with Bill.
