Tempest landed near Jelena, and tilted his head, "Mew?" She seemed surprised. How could a god be surprised, didn't they know everything? "Mew mew?"

Maybe... She's a doupleganger? No, that would not explain enough.. a super human samuri robot? No, not enough moving metal parts... Then who was she. "Mew?"

Tempest looked at the door, the sparks flew out. Oh, I did theat. He turned his head towards Jelena, and sat on his rear paws. His eyes opened as wide as he could make them, once again, his whiskers declined, and moisture filled his big, round eyes. "mmmw."

A look to Tempest...adn her heart melted. He looked like a child about to cry. And duly she picked him up and cuddled him once again. "It's okay Tempest...I'm not mad at you. Hopefully the door still works." Though that looked quite doubtful, now didn't it. She pet through his fur though and let him know she wasn't angry at all, giving a kiss to his furry head between his ears.

Standing she walked over to the control panel, Tempest in hand, but not close enough for sparks to get at them. Hm...looked like he did quite the number on it iwth those little spines. But first she terminated the VR simulation and took another look at the door. "Okay...well I'm sure there's an emergency way of opening this door...just like on every other door."

A knock on the other end.

"Jelena? you in there? I sent the security detail away. I tried to get Raidiance to let up on teh security..but the best I coudl do was make sure that we coudl work on Cerebus and Hydra. on and I think I might have broken Jackson's jaw...or cheekbone..or both..and maybe injured his ability to walk."

Punching in the codes wasn't getting the door to open. odd. did she change the codes as a way to lock it?

"Jelena..can you tell me the code to come in? or are you having some time to yourself?"

Good good, he was not in trouble, time to stop... What is this, I can't stop crying, I really am sad. "Mew." Tempest lounged about near Jelena. His tail waving slightly more free now that the spines were flung, but that only last a brief moment, a moment later, a flick of the tail had new spines sticking out his main weapon. Cool. "Meow."

He watched the god play with the wall, which was silly in Tempest's opinion.

Another pet to Tempest who was going about being Tempest. But then a look at the door. Well that was James voice. Oh well this was embaraassing...brilliant scientist locked in a room...adn she couldn't even fix the problem. So James then. "Yeah...I'm in here...but not enjoying alone time. Well I was but...Tempest kinda broke the door controls...I think he's locked up in and everyone else out."

Though through the door, a change in her tone was heard. "James...you can't go roughing up Radiance. You'll just get yourself in trouble. And Jackson is the worst...you'll be lucky if you're not in Fleet lockup by the end of the day."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 15, 2005 12:22 am

"Lets say that Jackson knows better than to mess with me today. as for the door...stand back from it. I'll open it the good old fashioned way."

A little whir sound, and a click of his plasma cannon setting into place..aim..and fire. minro explosion later, the door slide open, since the lockmechanism wasn't broken anymore, it was vaporized.

"Well...that solves that..."

Wavign away some with his hand.

She was standing there, holding Tempest in her arms, and just blinked at him as the door slid open. "...You broke the door James..." Great, broken doors...but she shook her head and stepped out of the room to stand next to James, though she looked around a moment a little paranoiedly...damned Fleet security was still crawling the halls...but at least she wasn't being followed around. "I guess a thank you would be in order, wouldn't it?"

Lillia stepped out of the shower and stood there, soaking wet for several moments. Hundreds of thoughts running through her mind, ever present strands of memoribilia she didn't want to see or experience again.

She sighed once glanced at herself in the mirror and shrugged. At one time she would have cared how she looked, now she jsut didn't. She got dressed, grabbed everything she needed and went back to teh office where she attacked the pile on her desk with a relish she hadn't shown since the incident.

That's how she was referring to it now, the incident. It didn't merit any other title and she didn't want to give it one in her mind, thta would mean it was important and had an effect on her. And to do that, to give it precedence would allow the dam to break, and that she couldn't do.

James nodded lightly.

"Yes they are. however, I got us access to work on the Hydra adn Cerebus, just nothign else. and I'm your new security liason, so you know that I won't be bothering the hell out of you."

A look at Tempest.

"And you...be careful with those spines. you alsmot got yourself caged with no way out."

She just held the little cat like creature supported with one arm and then she pet him with her free hand. "Oh you know he's harmless...mostly..." That's right, mostly harmless. Though she looked a bit skeptically at him. "Still...with the extent of my project shut down as it is...I'm a little worried to even work on those two..." Yes, she had an extreme paranoia about doing things in her labs if they weren't just right.

"So you're my security? Well I assume personal...I'll still have FS at all my freaking doors and all over the halls." Then a slight chastising look at him. "And don't rough up the Radiance high ups James. I mean it...we don't need anymore trouble."

"I'm you personal security, adn I can be all the rest two if I throw the others out. think they driving Erik nuts yet?"

He smiled at her, and patted Tempest on teh head before leanign over and giving Jelena a lingering little kiss, and escorting her back toward her labs.

"I only roughed him up a little bit. I don't think I did any nonrepairable or overly serious damage. and if he want's he can b***h about it later. I still have the shooter's position on him."
PostPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2005 5:53 pm

"As much as I should be glad that you're my personal security...I'm finding that I'm not enjoying it...I hate level four security...I should just lock myself in a bathroom for five hours...at least they don't' follow you in there or bother you at all." Yeah, that sounded good right about not...just lock herself in a bathroom...maybe scream and throw things.

But a smile at his kiss, then a laugh as Tempest batted at him. He like the vile cup, was trying to take mommy's affections from him! But he was reduced to purring and mewing as Jelena scratched under his chin to soothe him. Then a small shake of her head. "Erik is Fleet Security. High rank officer of sorts...they don't bother him."

Jelena walked with him easily enough though, every once and a while her attention flitting to Tempest who was making sure to get as much orange cat her on her lab vest as possible without him going bald. His mother. "You still shouldn't be roughing anyone up. Let them do what they want and then this can all go away."

"I coudl think of other ways to distract you for five hours."

A small chuckle, opening her door for her in teh labs, and with a rather harsh obviously military leader voice, ordered then out of the lab. and no one wanted to piss of James unless they really really needed to.

"Now then..woudl you like to do some work, or at least check on things, or somethign else, Jelena?"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2005 6:41 pm

"I doubt you could. In reality I have quite the short attention span." Indeed she did...probably connected with her disorganization in some way or another. But she stepped aside, letting the security leave out the door, staring at thier back a moment with a pissed off look. Really hated level four.

But a slight shrug as she set Tempest down on the floor, she needed a break from carrying him. He of course took to practically walkign between her ankles and she had to try and keep from tripping over him and stepping on him all at once. "I don't know if I feel the zest for work today...I'm kinda bummed out. Which is odd for me..."

Lillia tapped the save key on her computer adn quickly printed the labels she needed for the different files. This filing system was going to work, dammit, if it was the last thing she ever did. Jelena was going to follow it or Lillia would just have to make her. She began pulling off the sticky labels, about three inches long with the different words typed on them and sticking them on teh tabs of the file folders.

Meanwhile back on Earth:

Jacklyn Nickko came in from a hard day's work and kicked off her respectable high heels that killed her feet and took off the respectable business jacket that she wore to maintain her image as a respectable professor. She tapped her nails idly as she went through the day's mail, tossing bills in the 'to be paid' pile adn the junk in another to be trashed. Beneath the mail there was the day's newspaper. A soft smile lit her lips as she saw the large headline that took up most of the front page. It had warranted the front page, that would make Daniel's day. And that would most certainly get that Dr. Trevale's attention. A derisive snort issued from the professor, how dare they call that woman a doctor. She didn't do anything to gain the title. Mad Doctor was more like it. But she soothed her anger down and picked up the paper, avidly reading the story. As time went on and she read the quotes and information, she herself had given him another smile blossomed on her lips.

Daniel had done a superb job with the article, putting in all the required information, making subtle accusations that couldn't be called accusations, just enough to get the public's mind thinking. It reminded her a bit of Marc Antony's speech that had incited the riot of Rome to go after Brutus. A small slice of admiration was set aside for the author and she nodded. Daniel was definitely going places in the literary world. He had a way of drawing people into a story and then presenting the facts in a way that they were enjoyable to read, as though he was allowing them into a confidence of his. His tone begged them to draw their own conclusions and it wasn't hard to see which conclusion they would draw: Project Echo's days were numbered.

Jacklyn was so happy she stood up and poured herself a glass of sherry. She had a fondness for the drink but she dind't indulge very often since too much would lead her to become an alcholic and respectable professors were never alcoholics. She curled up back in her chair with her glass of sherry adn took a long sip then started to laugh. But that didn't last long and she stood to play her other role, respectable wife and make her husband dinner.

Bradley walked into the house and saw his wife standing at the stove stirring something. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. "Hello honey."

Jacklyn jumped. Ever since her husband had gotten out of the hospital he had been different, a lot more touchy feely and she had actually heard him laugh a few times. She pulled away from him and placed a perfunctory kiss on his cheek. "Hello dear. How was your day?"

He shrugged his shoulders and walked away irritated at how cold his wife of so many years always was. He tried to remember a time when she wasn't like this but for the life of him he couldn't. Surely she wasn't always this way...there had to have been a time that they had laughed together over something silly...or maybe not. Why had he married her? This had never been what he had wanted for his life. He'd wanted a wife who loved him as much as he loved her and a whole bundle of kids...how had this happened? He pondered the questions as he glanced at the paper wondering what was happening now. His eyes scanned the article and his mouth dropped open. "Oh...dear...Jacklyn have you seen this?"

She glanced up from stirring and nodded, "Yes. It serves them all right. Project Echo will be shut down and I for one am very happy."

He stared at her for a moment and then looked back at the article reading it entirely. "Lillia's name is all through this...when did she talk to a reporter?" His brows were knit and he glanced up at his wife, the gleaming expression in her eyes unnerved him and he had a feeling that she had something to do with it.

Jacklyn shook her head and began to slice meat with a vengeance. "Probably when she was living in sin with one. After all you try and raise your children right but sometimes you just can't do anything else. She's been sleeping with him the whole time she was here."

Bradley grinned, "Good for her. She deserved to have some fun, but is this reporter the same one that wrote this story?" His finger jabbed against the paper.

Jacklyn was thrown for quite a loop. She stared at her husband for a few moments her eyes wide adn shook her head, then resumed cutting. Where had the stern man she had married gone off to? The one who would have sooner turned his errant daughter over his knee than let her indulge in blatant promiscuity. Nothing was as it should be anymore and this scared her. She thrived on constancy, knowing time and time again that the outcomes would be the same. When she redid an experiment she counted on the reaction being what she expected but this was something she'd never encountered before. "I assume so seeing as how she hasn't talked to any other reporter, at least not that I know of." she replied coldly.

Bradley's eyebrows raised, "If you think I should be upset about her finally doing something for herself you're sadly mistaken," he said quietly. "She's been like you for far too long. The girl is 23, and she was raised right. Besides, I know for a fact she was living here the entire time she was on Earth so she really couldn't have been 'living in sin' as you put it. Indulging in an affair is a bit more likely." Another glance at the paper and he sighed, "Lillia will lose her job when her boss sees this." His fist slammed down on the table, "I'm going to find this repoter and I'm going to cut his balls off myself! b*****d! Messing with my daughter like this..." He stalked out of the room angrily.

Jacklyn watched him incredulously. Balls? Why would he use such a vulgar term to describe the male extremities? Her husband was nothing like he had always been, a live wire and she couldn't live with that. She'd have to find a way to get him back to the way he was supposed to be. Indeed, that's just what she'd do. And once her daughter was back home where she belonged, she'd take the internship at the university and all would be as it should.
