I dislike people who wear the "unstable molecules" clothing or whatever.
Like a normal pair of jeans imbued with fibers of adamentium or some s**t.
Which is why I go through so many outfits.

I wear pretty much black leather.
I let the light weapons act as armor.
Fancy stuff imbued in clothing and plates of this and that are boring.

Metal threads woven into clothing to make hidden armour is gay. Its cloth. It folds. If someone punched you, you still take the full brunt of force from the punch. The only thing it might stop would be a slashing blade, and I say 'might', since cloth is relatively thin, and even back in the day with actual chainmail, which would be... maybe 2mm thick rings with on overlapping links, swords could still cut through it.

Ed, what are we gonna do about the story?
You could wear a great coat from Iron Kingdoms. It's like a trenchcoat with armor plates in it or something. Except it it only has DR against Slashing and Piercing. Bludgeoning damage like HtH combat still bypasses it.
