He's got the potential, since he's made of other people. At the moment, he's just got his own moves. If he experiences moves that fit in from those involved in his creation, he can mimic them exactly. Thus, technique stealing.

I think you have Nik's, and your own.
If your gonna have silver be evil or something, he can't exactly be team captain.
Vahn and Sun would have been gone for a year hiatus (tying up loose ends individually and together), Shouyin would have been doing whatever.. and Silver... uh.. cutting Durem up?
Since we're the reigning champs from last year, we'd be automatically invited for next year and given VIP status.
Of course there'd be Vahn refusing to come back and maybe Sun saying the same, with Shouyin wanting to come and Silver...being anti-silver and wanting a chance to get at vahn (if he's gone bad).
But HoH being HoH, all of us would be forced to reunite due to court restraining order or some such (maybe a stipulation in the fine print from last year's tourney and having won and accepted the prize money. hey the committe wasnt exactly painted as good decent people anyway).
Edit: Or you can be team captain again, persoanlly requesting Vahn to come back, while masterminding something behind the scenes (all going under the assumption of what you told me like 4 months ago).

New stage in development of sorts, I did it before with his stone abilities.
Though that'd be a bit of a cop-out, and a whole new element is a pretty hefty level up.
Kinda liked you're idea of fighting with the Avatar of Earth or whatever.
It'll be a whole big spiel starting with the male Earth deity (once a name is decided). Titan or whoever will come to Shou, wrestling with him like Jacob vs. Michael to test his worthiness. Upon decision he'll give him the tasks of finding a molder of metal and a carver of wood, and destroying them both. Titan will then grant him control of these elements, making Shou a true elemental of the Earth.
From here, he'll face Titan's previous patron saint and like, rule.

*shrugs* He couldn't create it, and it wouldn't be too hard to bring would into play when 'bending' earth.
I mean, you rip up the ground underneath a tree, the tree's gonna be doing some s**t too.
