James was back out from Metamorphosis, and heading through the project echo halls, heading for Dr. Treval's office. he felt he owed her an apology for the loss of power earlier. of course if those damned fools hadn't been toying with something they had no buisness touching..but he'd fix that. passcode himself so no one else could access things like that while he was asleep. Incompent pricks the lot of them.

He continued to betrate project Catalyst in his mind with several more colorful phrases, before stopping by the Doctor's office, hearing both her and Lilia. he gave a knock on the door, and waited to be told to come in, as he didn't want to interrupt any possible meetings or important dicussions just to apologize to her for something that wasn't really his fault save that he had agreed to be part of thier energy and power experiments.

Lilia heard the knock but didn't say anything, simply kept picking up folders. She felt something on her forehead and ran teh back of her hand over it but didn't pay it much attention at all.

Then a look at Dr. Trevale who seemed to be lost in her own world and she said, "Come on in."

James came in, gave a nod to them both, standing in a military 'at ease' position, as was common when he reported on anything. he used to stand at attention, but the good Doctor told him if he wanted to look like a human scratchpost she'd put him in with an Echo that could use one.

"I wanted to apologize for the power outage. Those...people...decided to try and hook up the cannon in my arm to 'supercharge' thier experiments after my specific instructions not to, while I was asleep. They didn't damage anything of me, and I do hope the power outage wasn't to bad on everyone else. Your office is in enough shambles at times not to need a zero gravity rearranging."

Lilia looked at her boss who was currently mumbling things to herself and looking like she was off in her own little world. Shaking her head she turned around so she was facing teh door and looked at James, "Mr. Moria." She waited a beat and then said, "I'm sure if Dr. Trevale were paying any attention she would say something along the lines of that's quite alright or something like that."

She picked up another folder and started to flip through it. Status report. Green. "And I am currently attempting to organize her chaos." She moved her hand in teh hair to gesture to the piles of folders all around her. Then a thoughtful look, "Though she said something about velcro and gravity boots. Would you know anything about those?"

His attention turned to Lilia.

"Grav boots can be found on Radiance. the...home away from home, if you would. Our little slice of earth in space. I'm not sure if they have velcro there, but I wouldn't doubt it with teh power outages. And I do apologize for your injury."

He could see the blood soaking through her bandana, and some startign to seep out fomr under, and he used one of his bioware fingers to wipe it away some.

"You might want to get that looked at as well. While getting to the good Doctor is commendable. a injury to your head comes first, even minro ones. head wounds tend to bleed rather heavily, even minor scratches. and I promise you some of those Echoes you'll be working with go crazy at teh scent of blood."

"Injury?" She lifted her hand to reach for the spot he had jsut touched, it had stung a bit when he had and saw the dried blood on the back of her hand. "Oh no..." She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a mirror and a miniature first aid kit and then set about cleansing the cut herself. Using the mirror she judged it was a shallow one and shouldn't need stitches.

The sanitation wipes cleansed the cut and then she unscrewed the cap off teh small bottle and applied a bit to her cut. That would seal it off and allow the platelets and red blood cells time to clot and heal her wound for her.

"I didn't even realize I had hurt myself. Radiance..." she needed to remember that so she wrote it down on the clipboard. And then when she was sure that her cut would be fine she started back where she was with her filing and organizing. Grabbing a stack of folders, she set them in his hands and said, "Hold these please."

Walking aroudn teh room, she started muttering to herself and pointing adn every once in a while she would stop and just shake her head. She needed a few things from her own personal stash but she wanted to get all of teh folders organized into piles first.

He did like he was told, holding the files she'd pushed over on him, and rather like that she was prepared enough to have a small medkit with her. However he waited while she got herself together, it seemed she was goint to at least give organizing this pigsty and shot. Hopefully it would stick.

"Radiance is also good for shopping, both clothing and food, though you'd probably find other supplies better on the other ships. even a resturant or two around there. most teh places are takeout places, as there are severla ships most prefer to have food delivered to them rather than sit down and eat."

The first aid kit found it's way back inot her jacket pocket, no longer a need for it.

"A small community." She smiled and shook her head, "My mother would be absolutely horrified." Unzipping a few more files, she flipped through them and then set them in a pile on the desk.

Ten minutes later she had a stack of loose paper and a couple of piles of just folders all around her. This shouldn't be too hard. She started scanning over them and placing them in folders based on the information they contained.

"So I can still act like I'm living on Earth. That's good to know, I'll certainly have to drop by Radiance shortly. I'm going to need gravity boots if I intend to stay here." Pausing briefly she pulled her headband off and shook her head so her hair realigned then pushed it back into place behind her ears. Her bangs had been coming down and bothering her.

"and if I might ask, why would your mother be horrified at a community up here? after all there are several different crusiers and crew as well as scientists and doctors and biomechanics. and yes, I'd suggest at least one trip to Radiance even if you never have tiem or feel the need to visit again."

He didn't often go to Radiance, he never really felt a need to half the time even when he had time becuase eh really didn't eat like most and he had plenty of clothes in didn't like being stared ata ll day by a thousand or so people.

"Just the way she is." She did not want to go into a big long explanation about why her mother was against everything they were trying to do up here. She was against space entirely and she had tried to instill that fear in Lilia. And she feared that it may have worked.

She stacked more files and then took the stack she had given to James with a nod. "Thank you Mr. Moria. I think I'll head to Radiance a bit later but first I have to colorcode these files."

Her mind went back to her work and then seh stopped. "I wonder what would be the best names to use?" She turned and looked at him and then remembered that she had to get her colored tabs.

Shooting a look at her boss who was muttering something still and staring at a particular folder. She shook her head and then looked at James, "I'm going to get my tabs." She nodded once and then headed out of teh office to her room.

Indeed muttering to herself. The cause? Her present worry of Echo P-2BM and the rate at which things were going with it. Half of her feared having to force things along. Of course...that often ended in Variants. Not that she looked down on them but they always had a harder time associating with their own kin for some reason. Which was the reason most of them, at least the ones that survived, got names and were tamer than the others, one could say almost domesticated.

And as she often did when in these worlds, she seemed to not be there at all, or care that other people were in her office. But her attention was always two sided and she was indeed paying attention to the other two. "As Lilia said, that's quite alright James. If anything I think you should report to the Catalyst Project leader. I'm not too worried about the outages, as long as my Echoes are alright." A smile to him as she closed and sealed the file.

Then she took a moment to pull a miniature disk holder from one lab vest pocket and then her OODDS handheld, ejecting the current disk and then replacing it with a disk that held the same numbers and letter she had been looking up earlier. A beat of silence before all was put back in her pockets. "So, what's your impression on Lilia so far?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 27, 2005 2:55 pm

His attention turned back to Dr. Trevale.

"She's smart, prepared for the most part, though there are some surprises in space that she apparently didn't know about or didn't think to much on. She's already trying to organzie the tornado hit place you call an office, and her reaction when the Echoes are brought up is nothing short of a kid in a candy store with a thousand dollars. She has a small interest in the area of project metamorphosis, mostly in just the reasons why we did what we did. I think she'll make a good addition to the team, but I'd watch her around the Echoes. don't want her over enthusiasm to get her into any trouble with the more tempermental ones."

Serious as always. Couldn't just say 'I like her' or 'I don't think she's gunna make it'. But once he gave his answer, his turn to ask.

"Your impressions, Dr. Trevale?"

Jelena shrugged. "You've seen more of the girl than I have really. I've seen her a total of maybe three times since she came to the fleet. Though I guess I commend her for trying to take on my office." She idly tapped a finger on her cheek. "Yes, I told her once that they're not pets, and even the Variants are not. But you know how we all slip up."

A rub at her shoulder, pushing aside a file on her desk that was too close to the edge. "But honestly, I only really know her by how she looks on paper, which id very nice mind you. I figured I'd let her wander around and acclimate herself before I go and get my barbs in her."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 27, 2005 5:48 pm

"Getting your 'barbs' in her quickly is a good idea. She needs to be put into the chain of command as quickly as can be, lest she step on someone's toes and get herself in trouble."

James gave a small grin.

"And yes, soon enough with any luck she'll manage to get even you organized. But I'm going to my quarters, I need to passcode myself so those fools can't play with things I don't want them too."

A tap of heels together and he left her office, heading to his own quarters and plugging his head into the cumputer terminal, going through the process of passcoding nad routing security processes through his memory and safeguard features for his weaponry.

Lillia had checked her e-mail on her ancient computer and listened to the voice message from her mother freaking out in her normal fashion and a brief message from her father telling her she'd be fine and he loved her very much. The normal chaos and serenity that both her parents posessed. Sometimes she seriously wondered if they should both be in a mental facility for insane scientists.

She shook her head and turned off her computer then opened a random drawer and blinked. "There's my tabs! I knew I had them somewhere.." Grabbing her multi-colored tabs perfect for organization, which was their purpose, she hurried back to the office.

Shooting a glance at Jelena she ascertained that the brilliant woman was in the real world right now and not lost in some Echo fantasy. So she walked over and peeked over her shoulder. "Why don't you help me file?" Just a random question. She thought maybe Jelena might learn to like organization better if she had a hand in it.
