"It's a really nice place." She said before she looked at the cover of the book and gave a small nod as he said he hadn't read it yet. "It sounds like a very interesting book." She said as she smiled at him before glancing down at the book she was currently holding before lifting it up for him to see. "It's called The Fault In Our Stars." She said, she knew the book was probably geared for teenage readers, but she had heard good reviews about the book and was interested in reading it. "It's supposed to be a good book." She said, glancing at the cover again. She liked all books really. If suggested something, she would try to read it eventually. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ Skylar took noticed of her book, smiling slightly as he listened to her about telling him the title of it. "Well it sure does sound good in the title though sometimes the name of a book can be deceiving." He found that out when he read an old book earlier in his years of study. Oh how boring and misleading it was. This is probably why he narrowed his choices in literature. He was very careful when it came to selecting a specific story.
He moved the book that was in his own hand away from his grasp. He set it down on the table before stretching his arms out with a small sigh escaping him. "So other then us talking about books, what is it that you enjoy doing?" He wanted to engage this conversation a little more. So he tried his best to find out as much detail as he could about Luna. His eyes showed a lot of interest in her and eagerly waiting, he leaned a bit forward in his seat without realizing it. "I don't mean to pry, I'm just curious that's all." "Yeah. I know." She said. She had read a fair share of books that she thought would be interesting, but ended up being boring. Setting the book down, she then looked at him and tilted her head a little. What did she enjoy doing? Well... She enjoyed a number of things. She then looked at him and chuckled again, shaking her head. "You're not prying." She said. Prying would have included asking more personal questions other than what her hobbies and interests were. "Well. Other than reading I enjoy swimming. Though, it's a bit cold to do that." Not that the cold mattered. She could jump into a frozen pond and it would have no affect on her. "Let's see... I um... I also enjoy dancing and singing." She said, a gentle blush crossing her face. She enjoyed doing those things, but it was rare for anyone to see her doing so. "I also like going for walks. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ He wasn't trying to know more about her personal life as she might presume, he was just curious to know about a few things that she liked doing. He smiled as his ears perked at the tension of her voice. He found a lot of her hobbies quite interesting. He wished he could have enough time to have the joy of swimming but with his job it didn't give him much. Just being here in the library wasn't exactly exciting. Sure books and all but after all this he would have to return to work once again. He really hoped they would give him at least one or two weeks off soon. The stress was getting to him with all the patients he had to deal with.
When she asked the same question he did he leaned back a little in his seat. "Hmm... well I like to spend my nights strolling in the moonlight although I don't get much of a chance for that." Sure he'd come home from work in the morning when it was late at night but the moon was usually gone by then. "Uh I enjoy interacting with an assortment of people, listening to some music in my spare time and creating new bits of art." He was a very artistic person when it came down to it. He kept the smile on his face as strong as before. This man seemed like someone she could get along with. "The night sky is definitely a beautiful thing." She said, her species were at their happiest during the night and her powers were at their strongest under the full moon. That was another reason she liked Soleil, the sky wasn't polluted by the exhaust of cars and big factories like the city. She then blinked and looked at Skylar again. "Art? So you know how to draw?" She asked him curiously. She had a bit of a fascination with people that had the ability to draw. She wasn't very good at drawing, but she did now how to sculpt things. She loved using her ice powers to make sculptures. She especially loved seeing people's reactions when she made them, though, in one city she had been in, the people there had freaked out and called her a witch before chasing her out of the town. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ "I only wish I could enjoy walking around at night but duty calls." Skylar responded with the same smile still remaining on his face. He hoped that his bosses would let him take an annual leave soon. He needed it. His head needed to be cleared from all the healing he had to do while in working hours. It really took a toll on him whenever he used these powers. Perhaps he needed to find a new line of work. Probably not but who knows? He tilted his head to her next question before opening his mouth and continuing to speak. "Well not to say I'm good when it comes to drawing incredible things but yes I can sketch a few arts... mostly though I do tribal patterns as I find them more interesting then drawing faces or other numerous of things." It was more fun when he came up with ideas for making tribal patterns. What he has done in the past with his sketches are quite remarkable. He never showed anyone before what he does in his spare time but perhaps Luna here could be an exception. He kept his glance on her with his smile only spreading a bit more on his face. When she made ice sculptures, she usually stuck to making things like flowers or animals, once in a while she would make an ice fort for the neighborhood kids to play in. "I would like to see your drawings one day ... If you would allow me to that is." She said, her deep blue eyes looking into his before she blushed just a little bit. She sure was doing a lot of blushing since she moved to this island! Not that she really minded... She'd never been described as interesting and unique. The most she had heard was her family calling her weird and that they were ashamed of her, but she didn't care about them anymore. She wouldn't allow them to rule her life any longer. A warm smile then appeared on her face as she brushed a few strands of hair away from her eyes. "You are a very interesting person as well Skylar." She said. "I'm glad to have bumped into you." ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ Skylar hadn't noticed it till now but Luna did seem to blush quite a lot. He wondered if the things he was saying about her were off putting. It did ponder his thought for a few seconds but he neglected them only seconds after. No point wondering about it since it is obviously how she is. "Well I can show you my sketches if the next time we met." He enjoyed her company quite a lot. He couldn't help but smile around her. Such an affect she had. "Thank you Luna, I'm glad you bumped into me as well." He smirked only slightly with a smile. "Here I'll give you my number so if the next time I'm free like this, we can chat some more." He leaned over to the table where some sheets of paper were placed in a slit. He pulled one out with a pen and jotted down his mobile for her. When he finished, he ripped the piece off, folded it up and handed it to her with carefulness. Shortly after he leaned back with ease. "Perhaps the next time we meet, you can show me that Ice Rink place you spoke earlier of." He felt intrigued by the place. So this meant that he wanted to see her again. She had actually managed to possibly make a friend! Well... until she ruined it somehow... No! She wouldn't let that happen! She then shook her head a little to clear her mind before looking at Skylar again. W-Wait... He was giving her his phone number! 'Calm down Luna, it's so you can contact him again.' She thought to herself, but it didn't help keep away her darkening blush. "Y-Yeah." She said, embarrassed at herself for acting so ridiculous. She took the piece of paper from him and put it in her pocket before looking over at him again, her embarrassment leaving for the moment as she nodded her head. "Yeah! She said excitedly before blushing a little. "... Umm... I mean... T-That would be fun." She said, glancing at the ground in humiliation, why was she so awkward? No time to think of that. She closed her eyes for a second before looking at him again and smiling. She wondered if he knew how to ice skate. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ Once again Skylar took notice of her blush but this time it was more dark. He really felt like he was being off putting right now. He didn't mean to cause such an expression. He wasn't even sure if he should apologize or not. Or even make a comment about it at all. It probably would be best just to keep it to himself. He couldn't help but smirk at her enthusiasm to him asking her about the Ice Rink. The hesitation in her voice suggested a shy person. "How cute." He thought quietly to himself. He liked the whole innocent type to people. It made things more fun. He was trying not to laugh at how she tried to hide her look. It obviously wasn't working since he could still see her fully. "You would have to show me how to skate since this will be my first time." He knew that anything he tried for a first, he would screw up. He was prone to not get things right on the first go. The thought of him falling over on his first attempt made him smile more. He didn't even notice that he was daydreaming for a second. "Sorry got carried away with my thoughts." Chewing at the inside of her cheek, she glanced at Skylar, feeling even more embarrassed as she saw him smirk. 'He... actually really attractive..' She thought to herself before she blinked and looked into his eyes, a smile appearing on her face as she nodded her head. "I would be happy to show you!" She said as she sat up a little straighter. It would be fun to have a skating partner, even if he wasn't very good at it, she was excited about it since she usually ended up having to skate by herself. Even she had been pretty bad at skating on her first try. She chuckled softly to herself as she remembered her first time skating, she had so many bruises that next day. Skylar's voice drew her out of her memory and she shook her head a little before rubbing her arm, giving a small chuckle. "It's okay. That happens to everyone." He rarely does such a thing but his mind decided to wander. "So Luna, anything you'd like to ask of me while we still are here?" He was indicating to know if she had any questions about his life. He already gave her the basics. He was just curious to know if she wanted to know more. He was keen to get to know her more but he wasn't too sure if it would be necessary to ask more personal questions. For example is she single? Strange thing to be curious about but he couldn't help himself. Anything else she wanted to ask him? Well, there were a few questions she had in mind, but decided that asking him if he had a girlfriend would have been too weird. After all, they had just met. Plus, she couldn't be positive that he would have any interest in her, she was fairly certain that she was probably a few years older than him too. Not that it would have mattered to her. Luna then shook her head to get rid of the thoughts before she looked into Skylar's eyes and smiled. "You mentioned working late at your job. Might I ask what it is you do for a living?" She asked him curiously. He was a kind and caring person, so she was guessing that he worked somewhere that involved a lot of people. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ When it came to age different it really didn't matter to him. Skylar would only go for someone that he liked no matter if they are five or six years older then him. Although if they are under eighteen years old well he wouldn't be able to make an exception. Befriend them sure but not pursue anything. He felt himself becoming more interested by her. If she didn't know it yet he already liked her. She had such an interesting personality and what she does for a living surely could spice his life up.
He moved his hands up onto the table with both entwined in one another. "Well I work at the hospital as a doctor's assistant or to put it plain and simple. Nurse." It wasn't much to be a humiliating role at all. Mainly because a nurse is a female but he could care less. He enjoyed his line of work. He couldn't stop smiling about it either. "I help patients, heal them with my little abilities that I am sometimes fond with and I assist with filling out documents for other employees." It was pretty much the entire role of being a nurse. Do this, do that. He was surprised that they didn't even promote him yet.
"I like my job a lot although working late shifts at night can be quite tiring." Even as now he felt slightly tired from two nights ago. Someone came in with a bad injury. He was difficult to deal with. "What was his name... Garry? No Gabriel!" He thought briefly to himself. Such an odd fella. So he did work in a field that required him to work with people. He seemed to be the perfect sort of person to work in the hospital. Luna had always thought about becoming a nurse, but she wasn't very good with needles and would often faint at the sight of one, so that line of work was out of the question. Plus, while she could tolerate blood, large amounts of it tended to make her feel uncomfortable. She liked her job at the ice rink though. Her coworkers were nice and it was a perfectly paced job for her. The female then tilted her head to the side just a little at one word she heard from his mouth. "Abilities?" She asked him curiously. Did he have powers like she did? It would be interesting if he did, as she had never met another person with powers before. Not that she ever really told people about her abilities, she didn't want them to think that she was weird.
Giving a small nod, she agreed with him, even though she didn't work late nights, she did sometimes 'accidentally' stay up all night reading. Though, that was nothing compared to what his line of work did for people. It was kind of amazing what medical staff was able to do with helping out people in need. Her healing abilities could only heal, at most, a sprained ankle... if that, anything more than that and all she could do was stop the bleeding before helping them to the hospital.|Out.Of.Crystals| ~ |
