Laviticus did alright. The stitching looked a little sloppy, but soon enough, the hybrid flipped the article right side out, and knew when he saw the closed hole that his patch work would indeed hold.

90+ You actually had a lot of fun sewing and were pretty good at it. Though, you got a little carried away and sewed a sleeve shut. That was technically a hole too, right? Puck had been worried about taking the class at first, but it was a major step toward what they were working toward. Design. What type of design? Oh please, they chimera had no idea! That's why they had decided now was the best time to take Life Skills. Sewing would help Puck determine their skill set for the career. If they couldn't sew in a straight line, or even just three stitches without poking them-self, clearly they shouldn't be the one making the clothes. The instructor cut into his thoughts as class started. Mending should be easy enough.
Last week Talfia had asked the class to bring in any holey clothes for the assignment today. Puck had done their part, bringing in a few extras for any that needed it. They gathered the necessary equipment when it was allowed and went straight back to their seat. It only took ten minutes to thread the needle. "Fiddle sticks! How are you supposed to get i--" Of course as soon as they started to complain it went right in. Starting off they were wobbly in their stitching, but with some determination and staring at other students work, they got the hang of it. Before too long you couldn't find any more holes in your shirts! "This is awesome!" Maybe instead of designing new clothes, Puck just fixed the old ones. With the right creativity and cloth they could make any outfit like new!
As far as sewing the sleeves shut, Puck didn't register that until they went to wear one of the shirts weeks later! At least it was another lesson for the Chimera. Now they could use the seem ripper! Only leading to so much more fun the junior could learn!

This class was going to be awesome. Bertie had been wanting to learn how to sew for quite some time now. Growing up as triplets, means clothes go even faster. If they could learn how to sew, there would be so many clothing possibilities! They could use old shirts to fix new ones, make the fabric showing through complement the shirt. Bertie could barely contain their giddiness as they threaded their needle. Sure enough, they were a natural! Even if they accidentally sewed a sleeve shut, Bertie was so happy they taught this in school! They couldn't wait to get home and tell their siblings!embi-lamb Oops, I'm sorry I didn't listen to the rules.. I read them, but didn't do it. I'm only gonna quote you once for them.. even though this is way late. /weeps

Cain was just ... amazed. His teacher was staring at him skeptically, as if he had somehow cheated on the sewing project. He had actually done really, really well, despite having never touched a sewing needle and thread before in his entire life. Maybe he would have to consider a career in sewing one day.
The imp stifled a snort of laughter. Him? Sew for a living? That was a laugh.

Vitacea wasn't really much of a sower. It was a bit too complicated when it came to front and back and missing stitches or just.... she took a deep breath and sighed. Well, she fixed the hole, but she didn't want to disappoint the teacher. She decided that she would redo it, hopefully she wouldn't get it wrong this time...

Divone knew about halfway through that something had gone wrong. It looked nothing like the teacher's work and all the stitches were showing... and they actually looked kind of terrible if she really examined it closely. So she started on the wrong side... The hybrid flipped it over with a tired look. Maybe sowing wasn't her calling in life, but at least she could maybe patch things up? The hole was closed and that's what was important, right?

Well, it wasn't the ugliest thing to come out of the classroom at least. With a sigh, Arden traced the stitches with a blunt nail. He had picked out a dark navy fabric that reminded him of a certain someone, and he hoped the Freshling who got it would like it. He'd have to tell Rajna he was thinking of her later. With a small smile, the Chimera stood and brought his project forward.
"I think I should have paid more attention to my Mom when I was a kid," he teased dryly, rubbing his neck as he handed the plushie over. She had always loved to sew. With a short whistle, he sincerely hoped Talfia didn't criticize him too much for only being able to figure out the most basic of stitching. He didn't want ugly loops and frayed ends on the toy after all.

Honey moaned as they looked at the mountain of fabric and sewing tools. Feeling quite clever, they spotted the sewing machine and grinned, grabbing a handful of fabric and sitting in front of the machine. "Why not use every tool available, ay?" they justified to themselves before running the fabric through the machine and churning out something that somewhat resembled a plushie.
After half the time it would take to do it by hand, Honey had a cute little bee plush in their hands. Sure it was half the size the teacher wanted, but bees were small, right? With a shrug and a grin, Honey, threw the bee nonchalantly on the couch and left to get ready for the rave that evening. "Maybe I'll take you along lil' buddy, advertise me new plush company?"
Arriving at class the next day, Honey proudly handed in the plushie to the teacher. "Cute, huh?" they asked expectantly, a genuine grin plastered on their face, "Did it in no time! Let me know if you need anymore, teach." One would almost think Honey didn't notice that all the other plushies were at least twice the size of the little bee.

"Almoooooost...." Nian was excited to learn how to sew. It would be great to be able to make his own clothes one day, but you had to start somewhere. And right now, that somewhere was sewing up holes in your clothes. He could picture it now, he'd get used fabric to patch up holes making the new article of clothing completely unique to him! He could even make the holes on purpose and add to them. "Done!" He exclaimed, happy with himself as he looked over his work. The Imp's ears dropped when he saw the final product. He had sown the piece of fabric to the wrong side. he sighed, placing his work down in front of him. "Well, at least it's really unique now." He laughed to himself. "Maybe this would become the new fashion trend!" He beamed at his outlandish idea.

Orea had worked quietly as she sewed, trying, but failing, to remain focused on the task at hand. She didn't really care much for sewing. She had plenty of holes in her clothes and she would just wear them anyway. Maybe it wasn't always the best situations to wear them in and, granted, some clothes did have huge enough holes to warrant a toss in the trash, but she didn't really mind. As she looked over the sloppily stitched, but now patched, hole she couldn't help but think that she could actually do this better with a bit of practice. It would save her from looking too shabby and her clothes would last much longer. She would have to make note to practice again soon.

Life Skills was always a fun class. It was stuff that Esrael never really thought he needed to learn, but things that were nice to know. Sewing was something that he really didn't think he'd pick up on, but he took to it really well. He smiled to himself as he sat there, fabric strewn everywhere. Maybe he could help Burvia with her fashion! That was...getting a little too ahead of himself. A plushie was nothing compared to the beautiful things that his girlfriend made.
He mindlessly continued sewing, daydreaming the entire time. What Rae figured had been minutes actually turned out to be hours. He sat there in a state of shock and wonderment. How in the world did he sew all of these stuffed animals?! Better yet how was he going to get rid of them all?! Hopefully the incoming freshlings wouldn't mind a few extra plushies...

Eilwen had never sewn before, but she was sure to watch the teacher carefully as she demonstrated how it worked. She had to admit that being able to mend clothing sure would come in handy in the future, though she wasn't particularly rough with her own clothing. Surely one day she'd have kids....maybe. Of course that was a thought for way into the future.
Of course that was in her mind now and she was frantically trying to think about something else, just focus on your sewing! By the time she was finished she had done a...little bit of a sloppy job, but at least it was done correctly and the hole was sealed. Maybe if she didn't let herself get distracted, she'd do better next time!
