FISH!
The river is a long, wide expanse of rushing water that runs from above NightClan territory, into SeaClan territory, and empties into the lake. It is normally full of fish and a choice hunting spot.

Silverstream She ran into her territory happy to be at home. She was starving after the gathering and then she decided to go hunting. She crouched by the stream and waited for some fish. Soon enough she spotted one. She stuck her paw in the water and hooked the fish with one claw. She killed it with a swift bite. She caught some more then decidedit was enought. She started to head back to camp.

[The peaceful tranquility of the river was rudely disrupted as a fiery pelt threw itself onto the scene at break neck speed. Dragonfire panted heavily as she skidded to a halt right at the river's edge, narrowly avoiding falling in. While panting she whipped her head from right to left and then over her shoulder to see how far behind Griffonsea was. At the moment she was no where to be seen. Chuckling quietly to herself between breaths she at down to catch her breath. The Seaclan warrior stared at the running water's surface, unsure of what to do while she waited. Dragonfire had always been such an impatient cat. She entertained herself by splashing her white paw in and out of the water, swatting at minnows who dared to wander too close.]
[feeling another presence the warrior looked up from the water to see a fellow Seaclan warrior. She smiled smugly in greeting (the only smile she knew how as she flicked her tail.]
"Why ello there mate! What brings you here?"

or spread them faster on their way?  GriffonseaFemale | Warrior | Single | Bio | Storyteller Lost and foundforsake me nowor let me return home!(( I think that warrior headed back for camp, bnuddy, she's no longer there >> ))
[Griffonsea burst from the rocks with arms outstretched, her eyes shining with pride and mouth full of blackbird.]
"Dragonfire Dragonfire, Look what I caught!" she declared excitedly. "I saw it while we were racing and it tried to get away but I pounced on it and-"
[She froze, a blank look falling across her face suddenly as she made a connection she had been too hyper to make before.]
"Oh RATS, the race!" she spat. dropping her bird to the ground. "I was so excited about the prey that I forgot!"
[She made a pouty face, scuffing the rock with a disappointed look.]
"At least I have more prey than you now," she grumbled.
But then she stood, her cheer returning to her face, and she exclaimed, "Let's hunt, then! I said I could catch a bigger fish'n you and I bet I can!"
[She looked behind her, scanning the territory with her bright blue eyes.]
"Shouldn't we wait for the others though?" she asked both Dragonfire and herself, twitching an ear with impatience.I want to stay freeso bring to methe endless spray of foam!Perhaps I'll defeat your fiery flames
or lose myself among the fray.

Either way, the black tom was nowhere to be seen, as if he had been abducted by Starclan.]
[At the spot where Dragonfire and Griffonsea stopped by, the water suddenly rippled more violently than before. A lithe black shape streaked past underwater, looking like a giant misshaped black fish. The black shape grew larger and larger...until Ravenwing's head suddenly popped out of the water, his wet (and gleaming) fur plastered to his head, and a large wriggling carp clutched in his jaws. Ravenwing had jumped into the river halfway through the patrol and started swimming instead of running. Normally a cat cannot swim as fast as a cat runs, but since he followed the current it carried him a lot faster than he could swim. Of course, that required a certain level of swimming skills.]
"Hello ladies, how's the fishing coming along on this fine day?" he asked as he climbed out of the water, dropping the large carp beside Dragonfire as he walked past - and stroked her under the chin with the tip of his tail teasingly as he did. Which would probably earn him an angry smack, not that he cared anyway.] ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃xxx x x x x x xsay you'll sнaʀe wiтн мe oɴe love, oɴe lifeтiмe x x x x x x x xxтнaт's all i ask of you...

[Dragonrfire stared at Griffonsea in disbilif. How could she have forgotten about the race? She was to easily distracted. She padded over and took a good look at the black bird that her friend had managed to catch and gave her a sly grin.]
"not bad Griffonsea. Not bad. But i personally prefer fish, but the more pray we bring back the better right?"
[The gladiator whipped her tail anxiously, she knew that Griffonsea was naturally a better swimmer than her, but she was DETERMINED to get the bigger fish this time. She had no problem competing with her on land, it was the water she maneuvered more slowly in. When Griffonsea had mentioned that they should wait for the others she stared at her blankly and looked around.]
Oh no, where are they? I hope i didn't leave Pheonixice in the dust! ... oh and hay where did Ravenwing go by the way?
[Just then the water had begun to stir, forming into some sort of black abomination as it came to the surface. Dragonfire snarled at the strange thing as it swam closer, lunging forwarded.]
"THIS FISH IS MINE!!"
[She immediately realized her mistake however when she saw it was only Ravenwing showing off, but she realized too late. She had smacked right into him causing them both to fall back into the water. She gasped as she felt his trade mark rub under the chin and threw a weak swat at his tail as she paddled back up onto the edge, shaking the water off and glaring around with an embarrassed look.]
"Well at least he moves like a fish, its a plausible mistake..."

In matters of principle, stand like a rock.  "It takes courage,
To grow up and become who you really are" [Shiftstar padded over the rocky terrain, minding where she placed her paws. Some creatures preferred not to stepped on and she respected that. Bugs skittered from under rocks, some flying away, others remaining land locked and hurrying for find another shelter. A beetle caught her eye as it seemed to be floating. It was caught in a web spun between a few blades of grass. Perhaps if she was a young apprentice or kit she would have helped the small bug, but even spiders need food. It was a sacrifice nature needed to offer if everything was to live under StarClan in harmony. The leader looked to her side at Silverstream and couldn't keep the smile from her eyes. If only she knew the good news she was to receive that day.]
"It certainly seems everything has recovered." she observed, turning her attention once more to where she was going.
[Shiftstar slowed her pace when she neared the river. She could hear voices and assumed it to be those whom had left not too long ago. Peering into the distance and closing in she realized it was indeed the group that had left. She stopped and watched closely as Ravenwing teased Dragonfire with a brush of his tail. It seemed as though they were enjoying themselves. It was nice to see. Shiftstar narrowed her eyes with a content sigh. She watched them only for a moment more, clearly visible, before moving on. She would choose a spot up stream, somewhere where the fish hadn't yet been scared off.]   To be nobody but yourself in a world

"Yes it has" answered Silverstream. She followed Shiftstar up the river to a quiet spot. She stood over the stream amking sure her shadow wasn't over the water.She waited until she saw the shadow of a fish and then hooked it with her claw and brought it out of the water. [Shiftstar stood at the edge of the water, staring at the moving water. She couldn't say it was rushing as it had no rapids or white water. Shadows of fish flitted up and down the stream as they pleased. Few were scared away when sudden;y one of them was snatched out of the water. Though the creatures were foolish and came back quickly.
The two-toned cat crouched low to reduce her visibility and held her paw close to the water. With a snap of her muscles she smacked a fish from the water and bit it. The death had been quick and merciful. The fish was providing food for them at the cost of it's life. The least she could do was make sure it didn't suffer.
Two fish later Shiftstar was laying on the back of the river, her paw laying in the water creating small ripples as she moved it around. Perhaps later she would come back for a swim. Though she needed to take Stonepaw out. What would they do that day? Perhaps battle training. It seemed like a good day for battle training.]
"How would you like to have an apprentice?" she said happily. To be nobody but yourself in a world

[Trying to distract herself from her previous embarrassment Dragonfire's bright amber eyes shifted up stream to hear very faint noises. Her ears perked up curiously as she lowered herself into a hunter's crouch.]
"Shhhh i hear someone up ahead... im going to go check it out..."
[Creaping along the stream's edge over rocks and through grass she spotted two familiar pelts, Shiftstar and Silverstream. She grinned. Silly Shiftstar had an odd tenancy to wander alone after she had made her daily rounds visiting the cats in their dens. Dragonfire thought it was because she was shy possibly.]
"Hello Shiftstar, Siverstream, I didn't know you were out here mate! Why don't you join us in a fishing game! Griffonsea has caught a crow, Ravenwing a fish and I... err, well i caught Ravenwing... BUT anyway what do you two say?"

[Griffonsea padded after Dragonfire, peeking at the two cats.]
"Hello, hello, hello!" she chirped enthusiastically. "You don't have to join the competition. Dragonfire's just afraid I'll beat her so she's asking more people to join hoping someone else'll beat me. But it's okay if you do I mean I don't really care, as long as I beat Dragonfire! I already have anyway. All she could catch was Ravenwing!"
[Griffonsea purred happily, plopping her rump down on the ground and swishing her tail.]
"We should start hunting soon though before the fish see our shadows," she commented, peeking at the river with her brilliant blue eyes. "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!"I want to stay freeso bring to methe endless spray of foam! Perhaps I'll defeat your fiery flames

To grow up and become who you really are" [Shiftstar raised her head from the river and flicked her tail in greeting. Soon after Dragonfire appeared, so did Griffonsea. A competition sounded interesting. She looked at the three fish she had plucked from the river and chuckled.]
"Well then, I think I'm winning!" she said, jumping up enthusiastically.
[Shiftstar lowered her head and took the fish from the ground and pranced toward the pair. She looked at Silverstream, almost taking on the appearance of an over excited kit. She nodded her head toward Dragonfire and Griffonsea in an invitation to come along.
She swung her head back to Griffonsea, the fish carrying their momentum and swinging like a pendulums from the she-cat's mouth. Of course she would forfeit the fish she had already caught to be fair. She a bounce in her step she bounded to where Ravenwing and the others had been fishing.] To be nobody but yourself in a world

"Well, the rules are that you can only catch fish," she stated cheerfully. "Cuz it all started when I bet Dragonfire I could catch a bigger fish. So my blackbird doesn't count, but I guess your fish does. Anyway, I'ma start now! No cheating or scaring me while I'm huntin now, everyone."
[Griffonsea neared the water, keeping herself flat to the ground. The sun was in front of her, casting a shadow behind and away from the water, rather than right above it.
She crouched there, watching with fixed eyes. She never. Blinked. Once. All her being buzzed with concentration.
Suddenly, her paw flew into the water, and a large fish came flopping out. She dispatched it with a quick bite, purring proudly.]
"Foampoppy taught me how to fish," she said happily, and added quickly, "And Moss-star helped me perfect the technique."
[She placed the dead fish at her side, shaking the water off her pelt.]
"Welp, I guess we should pick a place near the river to hunt by," she suggested. "Course, this is my spot now. But actually anyone can hunt here if they want. I dunno! Let's just fish!"
[She purred at the other warriors, nodding happily, and returned to the river.
After a moment, her paw darted again, and she'd caught a second fish.

[Dragonfire snarled quietly to herself at Griffonsea's childish need to constantly beat her... not that she didn't feel the same way. She smiled and spun in a tight circle when Shiftstar said she would join their game with showing enthusiasm! She had wanted to spend some time with her ever busy leader for a while now. She had started to feel some admiration for the leader shortly after the gathering where they had fought the Star Slayers. She had guided the clan well.]
[Watching quietly as Griffonsea concentrate on the water's surface she whipped her tail back and forth anxiously. She grinned when she struck and seized a good sized fish from the water.]
"MY TURN!!"
[She said excitedly as she bounced over to the waters edge and crouched down, ears layed back as her wide and fierce as she glared holes through the water. Her tail danced and twitched as she grew more and more anxious, waiting for a large fish to wander too close.]
Now? No not now, i need to be patient... that fish is too small, that fish is too far away... THAT looks like a good one!!
[Like lightning Dragonfire lunged forward, throwing herself at the large trout that had foolishly wandered too close. She could feel her claws sink in as it thrashed about, pulling her into the water with it. Her paws slipped as it tried to escape but she was determined to win this competition, or more importantly that she could even catch a fish. Killing it with s swift bit the fish went limp as she struggled to paddle back to land. Spiting the fish out next to Griffonsea's she could see that her fish was smaller. Narrowing her eyes she frowned.] hmmmmmm

Hearing what Dragonfire said about catching him, Ravenwing purred in a laughing manner, obviously amused at the deputy's antics. True, it was embarrassing when the collided into each other, but more fore her than himself. Griffonsea then said something about a fishing competition...him? Compete with the ladies? Griffonsea was a very good fisher, although he was a good hunter himself he had doubts about winning against Griffonsea. "A tom would never try to best himself against ladies Griffonsea." He said as he walked past her, justifying himself in advance in case he loses. Better to let them think he lost on purpose. Separating himself slightly from the group, Ravenwing sat still as a statue as his eyes scanned the water. Spotting a large carp swimming his way, he tensed his hindquarters...and dived into the water like a torpedo when the moment was right. Like a bullet he travelled down into the water, grasping the carp with his claws. After a short battle underwater, Ravenwing managed to sink his teeth into the fish's gills, effectively suffocating it. Dragging his kill to the surface, he laid it out beside Dragonfire's, winking good naturedly at her. "You did more than catch me just now, you managed to capture my heart in your paws darling." He purred in a sweet tone, trying to take her mind off her embarrassing moment.]
