In case you guys haven't heard yet, there's going to be a second Dissidia released in 2011 (March 3rd-Japan and March 11th- North America). It's called Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy (012 said as Duodecim). Since this is a guild for Final Fantasy VIII, I'm pleased to share with you guys the VIII side to Duodecim! Squall and Ultimecia are slated to return and they both get Third Forms! Squall's is based off of an image drawn by Yoshitaka Amano and Ultimecia's is a character swap of Sorceress Edea! Aren't they pretty?!   And one of the newest editions to the cast is none other than Laguna Loire! Check out his gameplay!

Im representing Dissidia012 Squall, possibly the first too seeing as how Im on a stalker watch for updates and as soon as he was announced to have a third costume I went out and bought the stuff for my avi, even though I switched back to his first Dissidia costume, I JUST switched back to 012's. Oddly enough, I have every different model of Squall as pre-sets for my avi redface

the squall above me is a nerd. lol kidding. AND AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! Thats his new outfit? I was hoping his new outfit would be his original one from the game FFVIII. Oh well it still looks cool nonetheless. I can't wait until this game comes out!! I know this is unrelated to ff8 but lightning will be in this game too. I am sure the game will have some kind of plan or plot with these too, as they are both gunblade wielders.

Force Your Way is awesome, the new look to Laguna's Desperado is just amazing (did the Ragnarok go Super Saiyan Over 9000?), and having "Edea" Ultimecia will be hilarious to boot. I'll definitely be using Laguna, no question XD
Now, if they'd just use the Black Mages' song-remixes for the music track, that would be perfect XD I'm still a bit ticked they used Gilgamesh's theme (Clash on Big Bridge) for the fight with Exdeath in the first game, they need to put Gilgamesh in Dissidia.. Then I know exactly who I'll be using XD

Gilgamesh is slated to appear in Duodecim, along with Prishe from XI. And to answer that one question, Laguna's EX Mode is called "The Faeries Have Come!" (referencing when he, Ward and Kiros could feel the presences of Squall and co., calling them "faeries") and his weapons turn gold (referencing the Aura spell.) When that gauge is filled (as seen in the video) the finishing blow is the Ultimate Ragnarok Cannon. whee Ultimecia's 3rd Form's EX-Mode has been revealed! Edea/Griever combo!  NEW DEVELOPMENT~! Squall will have a 4th outfit! No imagery yet but expect it to be shared once there is! Personally, I'm expecting one of three outcomes for this. The Garden student uniform, Leon from Kingdom Hearts or a character swap (Seifer Almasy).

I CALLED IT. SQUALL'S 4th OUTFIT IS LEON. And apparently Laguna has a 3rd outfit too! Rockin' the Presidential style!   Oh! Other news! There's 4 additional songs from VIII! Well, ti's nto a total loss. We get to hear what Laguna's voice might have sounded like. Squall sounds similar to what I always thought he sounds like... both in Dissidia and in KH. Now, I just wanna hear the other character's voices....
On that note, Ultimecia's voice surprised me. In FF VIII, they seem to have intentionally replaced most the "c"s with "k"s when she spoke, which I took to mean that she has a harsh accent. Turns out her voice is actually not as harsh as the text-speech in the original game seemed to imply.

I think they didn't use The Man with the Machine Gun because they already put it in Dissidia (you had to unlock it in the PP Catalog and then buy it). But as far as I know, the songs from the first are there too so maybe it's still there. From what I've heard n the video I saw of the EX Burst in English, his voice is pretty attractive! Not very expressive with his lines but it's got a decent sounding tone to it (plus my heart merrily melted into a happy puddle hearing him say "THE GREATEST ATTACK EVER!" during the Ultimate Ragnarok Cannon. whee ) I loved Ultimecia's voice (probably because I have a soft spot for Tazia Valenza). I believe her "accent" was either added for flair (Like the various accents used in Chrono Trigger) or mistranslation. Most likely the former than the latter. I'm probably one of the few that can't picture her with an accent despite the harsh Cs in her little speech (which completely drops at the very end of the game.)

In KH II, Selphie's voice kinda sounds right.... But it might have changed a bit at 17 considering in kingdom Hearts II she's 15. I always picture Irvine with a smooth, southern accent... likely due to his outlaw-western look. With Rinoa, we actually get something of a hint as to what her voice is meant to sound like. You can hear her breathing when she's floating around in space and you can generally tell what someone sounds like by the harmonics of their breathing. Zell's voice.... Damn. His voice I a kinda always though might sound like the guy who plays "Chopper"'s voice in Ace Combat 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzjRHABMCZY(Chopper is the guy sitting on the couch... he kinda acts a bit like Zell sometimes, too.) And Quistis I used to envision having an English-sounding accent, but now it's more like a smooth, feminine one.... Can't really think of anyone to compare it to, tho.
