The slave market looks like a normal building, not drawing any attention to itself. The only ones who know about this place learn from word of mouth. While it is meant for the wealthy there are some slaves that it seems no one wants, some being in their cages for years, that middle class can afford. Slaves are given three meals a day. Breakfast consists of porridge and a drink that tastes like watered down milk. Dinner is bread (with butter if the slave is lucky) and some kind of jerky. Supper is a slice of meat, perhaps a carrot or two and the same drink that is served for breakfast. If they're obedient enough they also get something to drink before they sleep. The undead, aka vampires, are fed blood packs. If one becomes too disobedient then they are served nothing for the day.
Slaves can either be taken straight from the market by the buyer or, for a small fee, be delivered to their doorstep. When delivered they use a police car that is kept in a garage in the alley. It makes it inconspicuous.

Larka watched as, yet again, she was skipped over for meal time. She counted this as the fif'th day they denied her food. And all for choking a guard... Every day... Three times a day. She sighed and shrugged. They had no sense of humor here.
She chewed on her claw as she watched several slaves around her receive the first meal for the day. If it could even be called a meal.
She spat out parts of the claw that had broken off. The pieces hit the shoe of one guard and he glared at her. She smirked and flipped him off. He hit the bars of her cage with his weapon in response.
'Here goes the day's excitement,' she thought to herself as she reached out to grab the sword, ignoring the blade biting into her flesh.

Silver rolled her eyes as the other poorly behaved she-Wolf started off the day with more harassment. It was like she enjoyed the pain she inflicted and the pain they inflicted upon her.
A guard, also ignoring the daily ritual, brought the half Witch her breakfast. Silver bowed her head in thanks and ate greedily. She at least knew not to mess around until breakfast came.
Once she was done eating, that's when her fun would start. She especially liked picking on the old men who came to ogle her.

Tani didn't raise her head when the guard came by with her morning meal. The female guard, a kind woman, placed the tray gently down on the floor. "You gonna eat for me today, Tani," the woman asked in a cooing voice.
Tani lifted her head from her knees and smiled. She'd try, but they both knew she would probably just take one bite and drink the concoction of what seems to be milk and lots of water.
The guard smiled back and closed the door to her cage. Tani didn't really need it, but her alter ego would. She could never trust that Wolf.
She lifted the tray into her lap and proceeded to do what she does every time. She put a single spoonful of porridge into her mouth and washed it down with the entire cup of milk. And that was her breakfast.

Neeka cheerfully greeted the guard who just grunted in reply. The feline didn't understand why he was so unfriendly, but still she tried to pry a smile from him. "Hey, hey! I have a new one for you," she exclaimed happily.
The guard rolled his eyes, but stuck around to hear it, so she continued. "What do evil chickens lay?" The guard just stared at her, obviously not willing to ask what. "Deviled eggs!" She giggled and rolled over with laughter. She thought it was so hilarious! Deviled eggs! Who would have guessed?
The guard just turned his back to her, shaking his head, and walked away. But on his face was the tiniest of tiny smiles, he just wouldn't let her see it.
Once the eruptions of snickers receded, Neeka sat up and began to gobble down the awful food. It was bad, but it was all she had until hours from now when they served lunch.

Camilla stared out from her cage bars and watched as the others recieved their breakfast. When the guard came to her cage, he stared silently at her. She sighed and layed on her stomach, arms and legs tucked under her. The ultimate sign of submission and the biggest humiliation to her. The guard smiled and gave her the glass of milky water. They stared at each other for what seemed like forever until she rose to her knees and braced herself against the cage bars. He gave her his cheek and she gave him little licks. Feeling his satisfaction at this she whispered "You will pay for this." The guard laughed and gave her her bowl of breakfast. "I'm bettin' on you stayin' in that cage 'til you die" the guard cooed as he walked away laughing. Camilla sneered at him, but ate her breakfast in silence. One day soon.....

In reserve for TCYuzuki. Kicking and screaming, tears of fury streaming from his eyes, Caleb was dragged through the Market doors and away from the sun of the outside - the free - world. Sweat and dust-filled air choked his lungs with every ragged breath, soiling the freshness that had filled them only a mere few seconds ago.
He had been here before, and it had ended with his Mistress abandoning him. What had he done wrong? Absolutely nothing! He'd served with every fiber of his being - adored the woman to a fault. For ten years he'd given her everything. For what? For her to go off and fall head-over-heels over a career, and never return to him - not even ten years later. He deserved more than that. He hated her. Hated everyone like her. He wouldn't be the submissive child that his former Mistress had taken in. He was a grown man, and like hell was he going to serve anyone as a slave. What was the point? They would only do the same - abandon him when they found something bigger and better to spend their time on.
One guard grabbed hold of the man's hair, throwing Caleb into a cell toward the rear of the building. Another pounced on him quickly, correct in assuming he would try to run at any chance, and locked a chain upon the choking collar around his neck. Eyes of purest silver glared with an unholy light as Caleb watched the man fasten the leash to the back wall with a lock and key, preventing the half-breed from lashing out at any passers-by; he may be half merman rather than wolf, but he knew how to leave a mark.
With a snicker the guards slammed the cell door shut, locking it tight with an annoying click. Through white-blonde bangs, the man sat in the center of his cage and watched the isle before him. He could feel the tautness of the chain leash pulling at the chain and leather around his neck - his pulse an erratic beat as he calmed from his struggles. He was back - and while he may leave easily, his next Master was in for a hell of a ride once that chain came off.

Clara wandered through the quiet town streets, looking for a place to kill time and spend money. Heart wrenching cries echoed in the air and caught her attention. Seems like they caught themselves another one she thought, sighing. She walked back the way she'd come and entered the Market, curious to see what new boy was forced into the lifestyle.
Opening the door, Clara's eyes roamed the back of the store. By the sound of the screams, he'd been unwilling to go. If he'd fought back, they'd have no choice but to lock him in a cage with chains. Her eyes roamed the dark area until they connected with those of silver-blue, partially covered with silk-like white-blond hair. Those eyes, she saw, held hatred, torment, and pain, none of which were directed at her but she still felt its sting. Her heart started to beat erratically and her ears stood erect as she forced herself to close the door behind her and step forward. He's locked up. He can't touch you, can't hurt you. But as she wandered through the different isles, she felt those eyes following her, stabbing at her and willing her dead.
She took her time about getting to the back. She laughed with a couple of off-duty guards, cooed at a few sleeping kitsunes, and even bribed a guard into giving her a loaf of bread. Finally, she had reached the back, where those dreaded eyes stared outward. Up close, she saw that he was rather hansome and strong looking, and had to calm her heart for a completly different reason.
Clara lightly tapped on the cell door. "Hey" she said softly as she knelt down directly in his line of vision. "I take it you were the one screaming outside just a minute ago." She broke the loaf in half, holding out one half to the boy and nibbling on the other. "Want it? they might not feed you for a while since you decided to fight them off."

Edward had been listening to the girl and chuckled as he walked up. "Great... I like that, whats a henway?" he said smiling. "Answer that later but, Im here to buy you, you seem to be enrjetic, so you'd like my place.." he looked at the guard. Feh, they knew no comedy, only cash for a job a caveman could do. "You would love the fields, but do mind you I do have rules." he said his face becoming a hard stern look. "But for now you need not worry, as long as you don;t brake them we have no problems.... you'd rather not reak them." he then thumbed his nose casually. "You will be rewarded for work, I like to run a tight ship though so please don't bother me while im working or in a bad mood." with that he clapped his hand and smiled. "Ready?"

In reserve for TCYuzuki. Not too long after Caleb had been locked away in his cell, his ears had twitched at the sound of an opening door. Silver eyes flicked rapidly to the sound, and his sights found those of the visitor - a deep brown gaze, from a female with cat's ears. Neko. He followed her every movement as she made her way around the Market building, noticing that she would often look back his way before quickly turning to continue her route. He felt the hatred grow in his belly, white-hot fire piercing through his eyes at the recognition of her curiosity. 'She'd buy me,' he thought to himself, a disgusted sneer spreading his lips as he caught sight of a guard handing her a loaf of bread. But that was something he wanted, wasn't it? If he was bought, he'd be out from behind bars and chains.. and it would be easier to get away - from everything.
His expression faded quickly as she turned to make her way toward the back of the building, stopping before his cage. Being part mer, Caleb was able to sense a bit of nervousness from the woman - or, if not nervousness, certainly uncomfortability. His eyes remaining harsh as he looked her over, he found her a bit petite in stature. She wouldn't come up past his chest, maybe his shoulders, if he stood up. Her figure looked toned enough - one for exercise, this one. Maybe dance, or even martial arts, if he would give her that credit. She spoke to him evenly, Caleb's eyes returning to hers as she spoke. Yeah, he'd been the one screaming - cussing up a mother f-ing storm, rather than that pansy wailing that other slaves gave as a performance.
He didn't answer her, but rather looked to the loaf of bread the guard had given her - which she was now breaking into two halves. Most annoyingly, Caleb's stomach roared with hunger. He hadn't eaten since before he'd been caught, and it had taken the men a couple of days to get him down here. His spine stiffened in caution as she held one of the halves to him through the bars, her teeth starting to eat away slowly at the other in her hand. Yeah, he wanted it.. He wanted steak and mushrooms, too. Hell, he'd eat vegetables if you put them in front of him. "I can' 'xac'ly eat what I can' reach, now can I?" he asked her, his voice deep and full of boredom. One thing he had never been able to shake as he grew was his accent, thick and full of his Scottish and Welsh blood. Sometimes it made him hard to understand... "An' it ain' my faul' tha' they d'cided te put a leash on a free spirit."

Clara nodded as he spoke to her and smiled at his growling stomach. His voice was held a thick accent, one she couldn't place, but it made no difference to her. She'd spent alot of time with a lot of different people, so accents was one thing she understood easily. She quietly stood up and headed towards the nearest guard, tail flicking with nervousness. She didn't know if what she wanted to do was allowed, and if it was would he accept it.
After her short chat with the guard, she turned back to the cell, a ring of keys in her hand. She placed the half of loaf for him in her lap and held the other between her teeth as she began to work at the lock. It took her 3 tries with different keys before she was able to get the cell open.
Clara crawled inside the cell sitting in front of the boy. She held the loaf directly in front of his face and held her loaf in her hand. "I'm sorry, this is all I can do for you now. They said I can't take you leash off.... because you are a free spirit and will fight your way out. The whole idea of a slave is to be submissive and accepting of your master." She took another bite of her bread and began waving his half closer to him.

Neeka contemplated the man's offer (though it wasn't really an offer). She didn't like the idea of so many rules to follow. And she had to work? Sheesh.
She shrugged as she took the last spoonful of goop before setting the bowl down. "I kinda need to know the rules before I know how to not break them," she said matter-of-factly.
The feline's ears swiveled forward as her memory sparked. She sat forward, her tail a whip showing off her curiosity. "Hey! I still wanna know what a henway is!"

"About eight pounds..." he gave a muffled laugh. "Get it?" he said then shaking himself out of it. "For starts, don't run, I don't like caging free spirits, don't leave me out of something fun, thats it, told you it was only a few, the fields outback of the house are a great place for you." he said nodding and smiling. He tried to be the best he could but, they are just unworthy slaves correct?

In reserve for TCYuzuki. The man watched, his eyes flicking a slight amount of curiosity as the neko woman stood and turned away from his cell. He noted her tail, and how it flicked from one side to the other slowly - like he'd seen other cats do, when they were nervous or contemplating. Silver eyes were careful when she began to speak to the guard at the end of his isle. 'Wha' could she wan', now?' White-blonde bangs fell further into his eyes as he tilted his head, hearing the jangle of keys as they were settled into the girl's hands. To bad he was chained, right now. She was going to open his cell!
In she came, and sat with him, much to Caleb's shock. But the expression quickly flitted away when words flowed from her mouth of his rebellion - and when she started waving the bread in front of his face. "Aye.. An' th' whole idear o' bein' a Master is te love what ye own, an' ne'er abandon it." The words left him in a venomous tone, saturated in the hatred that he felt for his former Mistress.. and any other that would dare to try and own him again. With a swift act, Caleb snatched the halved loaf of bread from the woman's hand and bite down with a monstrous mouthful. He didn't want conversation - he wanted food, right now.

Clara pulled back from the boy as he spat his harsh words So he'd been betrayed.... Explains his building rage and fury. "Why anyone would abandon another" she whispered, as she broke her loaf in half "epecially someone like you, will forever be a mystery to me." She laid the untouched half in front of him as she shoved the last of hers in her mouth. She stood slowly, flexing her tail and dusting himself off. "Well, I'm Clara" she spoke to him, clearly and directly "With me, you'll never have a reason to feel pain ever again."
She turned and left his cell, closing and locking it on her way away from him. She returned the keys to the guard from before , thanking him many times and asking a few more favors from him. With a little begging and flirting, she'd been able to get what she wanted out of him. She bowed her thanks, then left him to go to the front desk. "Silver-eyed blondie. Mine" she said to the cashier. She gave him a few $50's, knowing he wouldn't be much since he was 'so wild'. With a thank you, she turned and made her way back to the boy's cell in the back.
The guard she'd talked to earlier met with her at the cell door, grumbling about sweet-looking eyes and tails. She didn't acknowledge him, but directly addressed the boy. "They said they'll take you to my house at about 6. I don't know if I'll be home by then or not, I have a tournament tonight. But until then, this kind man shall make sure you stay fed and taken care of. One last thing.... What is your name?"
