- 2045, Metropolis, it’s been nearly six years since the new Batman had taken on the mantle, keeping Gotham safe with his new brand of justice. In the beginning of his career, he was invited to join the Justice League, the long known association of heroes fighting the good fight when one hero was not enough. When he was invited to join the actions were for rather different reasons. Superman at the time had been possessed by an alien parasite that soon attempted to take over the minds of the other members of the league. Nearly succeeding, it took the actions of the newly minted Batman to fend off the threat and even save the League. Deciding to not remain full time with the League, his actions, along with events that had unfolded, opened the door for new heroes to join the League. Realizing that the League should not be a group of a few for the same risks seen before, they decided to open the doors to a whole new generation of the Justice League.
But the League superiors were not the ones to let them in without a hitch. These heroes needed to be trained, to be disciplined. They have come to live in Metropolis, in the newly renovated Watchtower. These men and women will learn the way of old heroes, and embrace those teachings with their new age ideals.

After a tough couple of months, the new Justice League had been taking some time to re-organize their team structure while they licked their wounds from a highly publicized, abundantly chaotic security detail that didn't go as planned. The media has harshly criticized them for their recent roles in Metropolis, and it's clear to everyone that the group is more than a little rough around the edges.
They'd thought they were in the clear - and had been maintaining a low profile as a whole to let the stories cool off a bit. A few weeks after the incident with the prince, the team had been ready to start training again, only for the Tower to be infiltrated by an unknown (to them) enemy. Mister Mxyzpltk, a reality warper from another dimension gave them a run for their money in his own twisted idea of what was fun. He terrorized the members, thinking his work was nothing but a prank; the unfortunate thing with the pranks - no one found them funny. From nearly drowning the entire team, to changing the age of another, to creating a wrestling sewage monster... he made no fans among the residents of the league.
After sending him back from whence he came, the populace of the Tower has had two weeks to repair the damage that Mxy wrought in no less than a few hours. Along with mending their home, they've been busy adding new members to their ranks, re-adjusting security measures, and evaluating their image. Determined to maintain representing themselves as super heroes, the higher ups have been quietly working on plans to help push the young team in a good direction.

For character creation, it would be a good idea to look over the League Registry to see what powers are already in use. We don't allow repeat powers without the permission of the first person using it.
